This is a wonderful family owned repair shop! While very professional, you can tell these people are honest and care about their customers!! I was traveling in my RV when the radiator split and I needed to have it replaced ASAP as I was trying to avoid a snow storm. Darren got me in for the diagnosis and had the parts the next day (I'm a late sleeper and they even worked around that!) and had me on the road in just a couple of hours. I called days in advance and set appointment. I dropped it off on Monday. I got the run around and felt lied to all week long every time I'd talk to someone and they kept saying they'd call with updates and I never received any calls. Come Friday, I called to let them know I could no longer go without a car (it ran ok but had minor issue causing check engine light to turn on), I found out that I didn't have appointment and so they were working on it a little here and there which is why it was taking all week and they still couldn't guarantee that the source of the problem would be found. read more

Strange experience. Took it in to get the ABS system looked at because all the lights were on when driving. They looked at it saw a brake light on, said they adjusted the parking brake and it was "done". I asked about the ABS, they said " yeah, it is not working" I asked about fixing it and she had to call me back. What? She said well people think it is too expensive to fix but she will get a quote. 2 minutes later she called with a quote. Guess they decided that they really did not want to or could not fix the car. All the while complaining that we have to disengage the parking brake. So, she fully convinced me that I did not want her to fix my car, she did not call and say "hey, the lights are not on" or "hey do you want the ABS to work?" I think there must be better repair shops in the area. Well, I have to give them credit, they did not charge me, which I think was kind. read more

Ugh. I can't even begin. I brought my son's car in for a coolant leak. It was a massive leak. They charged me $50 for the diagnostic fee and told me it would be two-three days before they could look at it. 1 and a half hours later, they emailed me "photos" of their progress and of the interior of my engine and brought me back a bid for $2,600 (head gasket, machine shop, water pump and labor). I brought the car to them because I was in a time crunch. After receiving my bid, I laughed and politely went and picked up my car. I towed it to my long-time trusted mechanic (who fit me in without an appointment). Diagnosed problem: A faulty bleeder hose...cost to repair: Free. I will never return to Denny's. read more

BEWARE!!!! ALL THESE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE!!!!!. My girlfriends car died and we had to tow it somewhere after hours. We saw good reviews for Denny's so we towed it there feeling pretty good about what we read. I'm not a mechanic but easily diagnosed it with a dead alternator. The tow company jumped the car and also diagnosed it with a bad alternator before we took it to Denny's. Unfortunately, it was late and all shops were closed so we couldn't shop around. I left a note saying that the car had a bad alternator along with the keys in their drop box and took off. The next morning. I get a call from Denny's saying, of course, that the alternator was bad.. They charged $70 for the diagnosis alone!!! They said it took a half an hour to diagnose a bad alternator which took me only 30 seconds to realize!!!! THEY ARE THIEVES. Then they told me that the part alone was $250 (overpriced by about $70) and the work would be an additional $160 or so totaling over $500 (including the diagnostic and taxes) to change the alternator. Before we committed to have them work on it, I shopped around and nearly every shop was $100 cheaper or more, but by this time, I would have had to have the car towed to another shop! They knew there was very little we could do about what they were charging us so reluctantly, we committed to overpaying these thieves because we needed the car back! On top of all this, they said we needed an oil change ,which was true, but they attempted to charge us $45 for a basic oil change and didn't even consider trying to discount the oil change or anything... . How are these people still in business???!!! SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND MONEY AND DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! read more

Took my boyfriend's car here and we have had multiple issues with other mechanics so we were hoping this one would be better due to a recommendation from Firestone. All seemed well and the owner seemed very straightforward and had great customer service, especially since we took the car to him last minute kind of thing. The weekend goes by, he calls Monday (awesome, super fast) and he tells us what's wrong, and that it's going to be somewhat more expensive; okay, we dealt with it and my boyfriend said go ahead and get to work. The owner proceeds to tell us, okay I will get to work and it'll be like 5-7 business days (understandable). Seven business days go by, and no call, nothing. We then decided to call and just check the status. My boyfriend called and what they told us is really what the two stars are for, because then it just went downhill from there. The receptionist, who kind of just seems to have a bad attitude, told us they hadn't started it yet and then gives the phone over to the owner and he tells us "Sorry, it must've been a miscommunication and we will get right on it!" We are not usually easily frustrated people, and we tried to just let that go because accidents happen. So another week goes by, they call us and all the receptionist leaves in the message is "You're car is done, you can come get it." I call her back to see how much it is, and all she says is the price no other information, and I'm like okay thank you. My boyfriend went in today (3/2/16) to pick it up (they had also told us they would do the safety and emissions which was just about to expire), and he goes to pay and they tell him that they couldn't pass it due to the computer not resetting. So my boyfriend drove down there for no reason and they didn't think to tell us (AGAIN) what was going on. He calls me and I ask why they didn't call and tell us or why they didn't tell me when I called back, I then hear the receptionist in the background (who again seems to have an attitude) saying she did call. My boyfriend said, "but all you told her was the price, correct? Not new news that could've been helpful?" She is then like, "well no." So our biggest complaint is that the lack of communication and follow up caused us to have to spend over $200 on a rental car, which also wasted our time, and now it's been long enough that the registration is still out past the month end. So I give them a two because of the lack of communication which could've saved us time and money considering we spent a ton on fixing my boyfriend's car. read more

All the employees were friendly. They did a thorough inspection of the vehicle and sent me a detailed email with the info. That's what got them the 1 star. They spent a few minutes and determined that my distributor wasn't giving good spark. They charges me $135 for that diagnosis. I declined repair which involved replacing my distributor. I'm not a mechanic, but I have had the distributor replaced in this vehicle at another shop and they charged me $300 for diagnosis, parts, and labor. Denny's wanted to charge me $800. I'm not a mechanic but I can change my distributor in an hour. I can purchase a brand new one on Amazon for $75. Long story short, I found the problem myself. It was a loose wiring harness to the distributor. If their mechanics couldn't catch that and that wasn't part of the troubleshooting, then I am not taking my car there again and will recommend against them in the future to others. I actually spoke to two people at work that also had bad experiences. Charging $800 to replace an incredibly easy to access distributor should be illegal. I feel sorry for the people that don't know any better and just pay what it costs at Denny's because they are friendly. read more

I took my car in the other day for an oil change, have a head lamp replaced and have the emissions done. My car is European and some places won't take it and most that do, charge me a lot more than other cars. Denny's price was fair and the service was great. Darren the owner was very honest with me and I really appreciated the time he took to explain everything. They emailed me photos of the car showing what was done and pointing out a few things (tire wear) that need attention in the near future. If you're looking for a place to get car repairs and you want to wait four days for a basic repair with no communication and terrible customer service, go to Denny's Auto. I dropped my vehicle off on a Monday morning, didn't get it back until Thursday afternoon. There was no communication throughout the entire process unless I called them first and they didn't even start work on the car until Thursday morning. It was a completely ridiculous process and I will never take my car there again. I will advise anyone who is looking to get a good deal on a car repair and quick turnaround time to avoid Denny's Auto. We live in customer service based world and they fall short in every area.
