Sunday my truck just decided to stop turning. Luckily I wasn't on the road. I was for reals blaming the oil shop for not filling up my power steering fluid. My bad! I kept filling it up and noticed that I kept emptying out too quick. Monday morning I had to crank my steering wheel to get my kids to school. I ended up stopping at a gas station. There I called a tow truck. They took me to jiffy lube. Jiffy lube did their inspection and power steering fluid just came shooting out of the tie rod area. Jiffy lube gave me a quote to get tie rod fixed. I asked what causes stuff like that? They tell me it could be my 6" lift, sometimes the pressure and stress on the other components (usually older ones) will cause that and they recommended that I take it back to the lift shop. I had another tow guy come back out to haul my beast from 7000 S. Down to 10400 S. To Clayton's auto. They take a look at it and call me up. They find that my steering rack and pinion are no good. But they don't do that stuff there and they recommended another shop. At this point, I'm becoming discouraged, frustrated and stressing out. Lol! Worrying about "putting trust" into yet another shop for my truck we worked so hard and long to take care of, in another shops hands. Not only that, money. Not everyone has money to just cough up on big fixes like this. Fortunately for me, I had emergency funds set aside. This was an emergency because it's the only vehicle my kids and I have. It was a must to get it fixed. Anyway, Clayton not only recommended these guys, they were kind enough to take it over there for me after I spoke to Renae and got things situated with her. RENAE is awesome! She broke everything down to me. Told me what would be happening and what to expect. Once my truck got in there Tuesday morning, they were already inspecting everything and checking out the leak site. They did their inspection based on mileage. And everything they had quoted me, I knew I needed done. It was a simple "approve or decline" process. They never tried to upsell or push any of their other services on me. I like that. For me, that helps me to gain trust. And even though I declined the other services, they were still happy to get my truck back on track without grumbling about why I declined the other services. These guys are super professional, just within the short experience that I've had with them. I was worried my truck wasn't going to be done until this weekend. Wednesday morning it was done. Dude! I almost cried. Haha. I still worried (because it's a new shop) but I trusted Shane from Claytons auto who recommended Denny's Auto. And now, Denny's Auto has gained my trust. My truck drives SO SMOOTH. I can feel a HUGE difference from before and now. So thankful things worked out the way they did. And I didn't have to call up for another tow truck to haul my beast around. And I wasn't about to pay for an extension on my rental. Haha...THANKS SO MUCH DENNYS AUTO!! I will for sure be back to check out the other services I had to decline on this trip. Let me just recover my bank account from the damage this work took. Lmbo! Worth it though. For sure worth it. Took my 1500 eco diesel ram in to get my alignment, struts, both front axles and breaks done. I had issues after those were fixed and had to come back in and get my front differential replaced. Paid over $6.8k out of pocket to get everything fixed. 4 months later I hear a loud pop and my alignment is out of wack. Brought it back to Danny's auto and Cory quoted me $3000 telling me my entire alignment is out and I need the entire thing replaced. I was frustrated because they had previously worked on my front end and now they were asking me to pay an additional $3k. At this point I wanted to get a second opinion and they ensured me that any other mechanic would back up their diagnosis and my truck was safe to drive. So I took my truck into Cleggs auto in American fork. Here is the diagnostic from Cleggs: RESULT: Upon inspection i found that the driver front upper ball joint has almost fallen out of the control arm this is very unsafe and the control arm must be replaced, I also found that the passenger inner tie rod has play and must be replaced, These repairs must be done before a alignment is performed. Recommend driver front upper control arm Recommend passenger inner tie rod DO NOT DRIVE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE! The mechanic at Cleggs told me I was lucky my truck made it into their parking lot because the ball joint was so bad. He specifically said that they don't see them get this bad and it was very rare. Here is what they fixed at Cleggs: Remove & Replace Front Upper Suspension Control Arm (One Side) $218.09 Basic Four Wheel Alignment $119.95 Part Qty Total MOOG Chassis Products Suspension Control Arm and Ball Joint Assembly 1 $143.66 Authorized on 7/12/2024 at 06:06 PM Subtotal $481.70 Est. I told them that this could have resulted in a serious accident and this is serious negligence on their part. They had nothing to say and told me they couldn't do anything for me at this point. I don't write reviews but I felt this would be merited in hopes that it helps someone else who may be in a similar situation and to get a 2nd opinion before taking your car here. Makes me wonder about the $6k I've paid for previous repairs and if those were legitimate. Either way I hold myself in accountability for not doing my due diligence prior to taking my truck to Danny auto. In my personal opinion the folks at Danny's auto are careless, negligent and someone is likely to get seriously hurt or worse due to incompetence. My family has been going to Denny's auto ever since it opened! They know my family; they practically are a part of my family. They are the only ones I trust to work on my car when serious fixing is needed. In addition, they are so very willing to engage in the community. I mentored a youth and reached out to them to see if my youth and I could go to the shop and watch them work on cars for a couple days. They were so accommodating and let us come in! It was a great experience to watch them work on the cars and everything. It meant a lot to me that they were willing. Would recommend 10/10 read more

TL;DR, Most expensive shop I found even more than the dealer. This is the most predatory auto shop I've seen. I went in with some brake problems, it was scary to drive for fear of not being able to stop. I went to Dennys based upon a trusted friend who said he's worked with them for years. When I get there, they won't even LOOK at the car unless you fork out $285.00 for a diagnostic fee and tack on another $20 of hidden fees for "shop tools" like shop rags etc... So...after tax it's like $310 or something. They test some things and tell me that my brake booster and master cylinder are fine, my brake pads are fine so the only solution is to flush the brake system. How much is that you might ask? ~$420.00 which does not include the diagnostic fee. So I'm being quoted after tax and other stuff $770 for them to just want to flush my brakes "just in case" as it "might" fix the problem. This was their way of saying "I have no idea what's wrong with this but let me make sure I'm getting my money out of you". So I would be out almost $800 just to get some information and see if it "might" fix it. I ended up cutting my losses, paying the ridiculous diagnostic charge and risking life and limb to take it somewhere else, but... below are some of the reasons I ended up hitting the ejector seat and cutting my losses. They are by far the most expensive Auto shop I contacted at $300+ to diagnose and $192.00 an hour. Just to put that into reality, the Ford DEALER...yes DEALER charges $170 an hour and $180 to diagnose. They specialize in Ford and are the true experts, why would I pay $22 more an hour (this adds up fast on multi hour or more than one job) than the dealer and $120 XTRA for them to try and diagnose? I then contacted other shops and McNeils in Riverton is $149 hourly and their diagnostic fee is $149. So for the price of a diagnosis and an hour of labor from McNeils I barely get a diagnosis from Denny's. The other place I called in AF was $129 an hour and their diagnosis just depended on how long they spent. Denny's was BY FAR the most expensive. Here's a part example. They quoted me a purge valve for $122, I looked online for the factory ford part and it was $45 so there was also a ridiculous markup on their parts. They quoted me **$191** to replace a cabin air filter. My daughter bought the part for around $20, popped open the glove box and slid it in place in 10 mins or less. I think they wanted to charge like $60 or something (i forget) for the part and 3/4 of an hour to install it. Remember at $192 an hour, that would be appx $144 to open the glove box and slide in this air filter. They wrote up a shopping cart full of ways they can try to upsell and squeeze more money out of me, Front Shocks $1,202, Rear Shocks $640, tune up ignition system $665, emission service $334. All of those i'd by paying rounded up hourly rates at $192, wiper blades and an oil change and heavily multiplied parts prices. --Update-- We took our vehicle to McNeils and they identified the problem, which is a bad diaphram in the brake booster. What this means is that we would have spent nearly $800, got some fresh brake fluid and still had the same issue. Oh...but they did quote us $159.57 to replace it (remember Denny's quote of ~$420)? Also we were advised by McNeils that this Brake booster issue, while it could be very costly also has a recall at Ford so we will be reaching out to them on this. Fingers crossed. read more

I dropped my car off last week. The guys were very nice. Unfortunately they tried to charge me $2400 for a pretty simple job. When I ordered the parts myself they came out to $163.24 total. So at least a couple grand in service fees. When I got my car back from Dennys they had accidentally punched a hole in my coolant tank and when I called them about it they accused me of doing it and refused to even look at it. WATCH OUT...These guys will rip you off! I took my car in for a front-end alignment. When I picked up my car, they said they could not align it "the way it should be done" because the parts they needed to turn/rotate were stuck and needed to be replaced. They also did a "Complimentary Assessment" and had 2 pages of "needed repairs" totaling over $6,000! I took my car to my regular mechanic (who was booked full when I needed the alignment.) NOTHING they listed as needing replacement or repair was needed! My regular mechanic just sprayed the parts that needed to be turned with a lubricant and it was an easy fix. Denny's Auto also informed me that I needed a new timing belt/chain (which had already been replaced less than a year ago!) Denny's Auto was recommended to me because "they're so honest and so good." NOT TRUE!! They attempted to Rip Me Off for thousands! I'm an older lady in my late fifties and I feel they absolutely tried to prey upon me thinking I was dumb enough to fall for their attempted FRAUD. BE CAREFUL and make sure you get a second opinion BEFORE you get any work done! Do NOT trust them because they lied to me BIG time. Verify anything and everything they tell you! I will NEVER go to their business again and I warn others because of my experience. I also wonder how many of their reviews are legitimate? I find it very hard to believe their reviews when they treat people like this! BTW, I will be filing formal complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the BBB, the Utah Attorneys General Fraud Divisionn and the Utah Division of Consumer Affairs so their SLEEZY and DISHONEST business practices are documented with the authorities. I had a headlight out on my 2008 Subaru. Google listed Denny's as a shop that does HID lighting, so I called to verify that they service HID lighting. (HID lighting is after-market so the Subaru dealer won't work on it.) They said to bring my car over so I did. They asked me to leave it so they could check it out. I had previously priced the parts with Auto Zone and found that the HID headlight bulb would cost $20 and the ballast $40, so I was expecting a charge of $60 plus an hour's worth of time. A whole day later they called and told me that they don't work on HID lights, but they offered to take my headlights out and put new ones in for $640 (plus a $136 diagnostic charge). They they also gave me a list of additional repairs that they claimed I needed which totalled over $10,000 (much more than the value of the car). I paid their $136 charge and will never go there again. They were dishonest with me from the very beginning. read more

Well, what can I say. I called to set an appointment and told me they had a loaner car. Showed up on time they didn't have the loaner car. I told them over the phone and in person that I needed 2 oil pan gaskets upper and lower. They told me they probably won't get to it today. What's the point of you telling when to bring it? They got an Uber to drive me home. They called later to say it will be a crazy amount of money and it needs what I told them it needed. I said I will do it myself rather than spend 1850.00. So of course they charged me a diagnostic fee of 105.00 for "confirming" what I told them it needed. What a joke. Will never use this company. Can't get my car back because of course they didn't give me the loaner they said they had. Pretty disappointed. Don't believe the reviews others are leaving. read more

Drove my car to Denny's told them what was wrong and needed attention. They came back a day later with a much overpriced estimate, so I declined to have them do the work. However, when I picked up the car, it wouldn't start. Somehow while they did their 'courtesy inspection' of other items they made my car not able to start. Then they wouldn't even help me get it started. They left me with a non-starting car and no way to get it off their lot. Lousy customer service and way over priced. It is rare for me to give five stars but Denny's has earned it. The entire staff is amazing! They always treat us as though we are their best customer. Denny's has been our "go to" automotive repair place for over 7 years. They have worked on all of our cars and we will not take them anywhere else. I trust them completely. Over the years, I have obtained second opinions/estimates and Denny's has never recommended a service that wasn't needed and there have always been priced competitively. took my Volvo in for a check engine light diagnosis and they said the fuel pressure sensor would be $872 to replace. $522 for the part and the rest labor. the Volvo dealer quoted $87 for the part and one hour labor to install, total of $265. Autozone had a Bosch sensor for $35. how do they come up with a $522 part price? I went here because of reviews. The work seemed ok but very expensive. My pully broke off and they had to reattach it. When it broke off it caused my engine to overheat and coolant went everywhere. They had to replace a piece for the oil inlet and replace the pully. When I got my car back I found that they didn't even bother to add more oil or coolant to the engine. Luckily I checked when I got home and added more before there was a bigger issue. I will not be back. read more

This is my second time coming to Denny's auto and while they are very nice and friendly, it honestly took forever! It took over and hour and a half both times just to get my oil changed when I came in with a scheduled appointment. That's 90+ minutes to get an oil change while I sat in the waiting room... Price is above average which I'm fine paying, but just the insane wait time is what will keep me from coming back here again. $70 for an oil change and they don't even vacuum your car.
