My husband and I came into this location to redeem my birthday free grand slam coupon. I believe the young lady that helped us was named Kim. She's a light skinned African American mixed (possibly) woman. Around age 18-25. Anyway, she was EXTREMELY NICE!!!!! She made sure my order was correct and walked me through the entire step. I was taking my order to go and she kept me updated on my order. She even wished me Happy Birthday. My own husband hadn't even said it to me yet. We love this Denny's. The ones in Concord SUCK. THIS Denny's is clean and the atmosphere is great and well-kept. However...it depends on who is cooking as to how good the food is. Sometimes it is such perfection. (For diner food). Sometimes it is average. Tonight...unfortunately it was Ehhh. We were here from 10:30pm on March 19th. The cook was not up to the great standards. My usually delicious sirloin steak dinner was just average. The steak was overdone and too dry and The sauted veggies were not soft and yummy. I only say this because of how awesome it CAN be or HAS been before. This guy needs to step it up. It can be SO much better. We drove over here special because the Concord Denny's blow. I don't know what happened recently to this Denny's but the service and food has gone way down. We used to come eat here and the food was good and the service was excellent but now it's really bad. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. My friends and I decided to go to this Denny's location for a quick late-night snack. We arrived around 1AM. As soon as we walked in, we were seated by a waitress that did not even bother to greet us. We were seated in a booth underneath an air vent with the air condition on full blast. This made the restaurant extremely cold even though it was not very hot outside. So it was essentially more comfortable outside than inside. When we received our food, the nachos and quesadilla lacked sour cream. We eventually found out that they were completely out of sour cream that night. We asked for ranch instead and they told us it would be an extra 50 cents even though they were completely out of the original sour cream that normally comes with our meals. We ordered 3 milkshakes that should have came with the extras in a silver tin but the waitress completely forgot. To top it all off, less than 10 minutes into our meal our waitress awkwardly came to our table with our check and requested that we pay our bill right on the spot. To make matters worse, she just stood there staring at us while we figured out who would pay the bill. They have many upgrades to the establishment and the food is good BUT the new waitress's that work there and management are morons. The inability to "Sub" out an ingredient is ridiculous. I've been coming here for yearssss, from highschool days where i'd walk in intoxicated at 4am to even late night study sessions where you can't sit at home & get anything accomplished so i'd take my books w/ me sit in the corner of the restaurant with a appetizer sampler plate ... Or even these days where you're just hanging out with friends late night & you're just sick and tired of Jack in the Box drive thru .. it's a great diner..! I've come in here with a party of 2 or a handful of my boys... to even the rowdiest 7-8 people you'd ever meet & we used to be so obnoxious in there..but that never changed how we were treated... They've cycled through many workers here through out the years & they've all been great from my experience... They're all hard working whether it's at midnight or 4am, they'll greet you with a smile & do their best to satisfy you. TIPS: Breakfast is served all day, you can customize your pancakes... If you remember ordering something a while back but it's not on the menu, ASK! They might still be able to make it for you..! (done this a few times with their desserts)... They've got a $2, $4, $6 & $8 menu as well which is cool where you're just tryna grab a little snack or don't feel like reading a whole menu while you're belligerently drunk in the middle of the night.. This is or more like was my favorite Denny's. Even when we moved further away, I always make the drive to this place because it's always top notch. The owner is usually there and it was rare that he wasn't there. I doubt this would have happened if he was there. However, Saturday July 5, 2014 my brother and I ordered and shared the super bird, it was really busy and the wait was long. Long story short, my brother and I have been confirmed with salmonella. Well never come to this Denny's again service took too long our server was busy doing stock on condiments instead of giving us our appetizers which were cold when we got them cheese not melted and overall just over blah so we waited to see how the rest of our food will turn out hunt over easy eggs understandable that they need to be somewhat raw but not completely raw yolk was cold. Went here with my boyfriend on a date on a Wednesday night. All the people were sitting on the same side in booths so no privacy and was loud. Was rushed to order and the guy started taking our menus as we finished ordering appetizers. This place just gets better every time we go there. We have eaten there probably 4 times over the past 6 months and it is always delicious. We've been to all the other more popular and pricey and overrated chains, like BJ's, Chili's, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc., and the food at those places just doesn't compare.
