They were these 1950's round green/red iridescent frames with rhinestones. I was in LOVE with them, and determined to get my prescription filled in them. First, I will share that my vision is quite poor. I cannot see the "E" on the eye chart; the entire thing is a white blur. So, my prescription is strong, and I would be needing a thin cut lense. Unfortunately, every optical chain I went to wanted to charge me between $600 - $800. So, I am not going to say which one, but I am a member of one of those wholesale clubs, and I get my contact lenses filled at their optical department. I showed the older gentleman behind the counter my frames, and he kindly and apologetically said that there was a policy about handling outside frames with embellishments. I hid my disappointed, smiled, then leaned in and said, "You MUST know of a place I can go to," He slowly looked to the left and right, leaned in and began to write on a small piece of paper "New Vision Optics," as well as the address. Quietly, he assured me that they can affordably accommodate my needs. I thanked him, and he walked away. Needless to say that my experience at NVO was absolutely wonderful. I met Ana Luz Sanchez (she speaks English), and she made sure that my prescription was properly filled in my gorgeous new-old-stock-vintage 1950's rhinestone frames. It cost me about $300. I could have tongue kissed her. 2 years later I got another NOSV eyeglass frame. A 1950's white pearl cateye frame. Again, AWESOME deal. Very happy with my experience there, and my lovely spectacles. So, if you would like to save money, don't mind the trip into Elizabeth (my hometown), and can communicate even a little in Spanish (if you don't initially encounter Ms. Sanchez), go to New Vision Optics! They take all forms of payment, there is on street meter parking, and their turn around time is very fair.

When it was time to be picked up, I showed up when the other secretary (y) told me that I had to call the office to let them know in advance, in which I replied that x had taken my phone call and I don't see why I should have to wait when I had called earlier. Y then asks x if that's the case, and she denies ever taking my call, in which then y basically accuses me of lying. I ended up having to wait and being late to work because of it. Second time around, I placed an order on my contacts over the phone and the secretary told me she would give me a call to let me know when they're ready for pickup. I didn't hear back within the timeframe they gave me (sat-mon by latest), so I called back to check up on the status, in which they told me they were indeed ready for pickup. She then asked me if I was going to go in that day, in which I told her I'd have to come in another day, in which then she told me to give a call 15 min in advance whenever I'm coming in. Fast forward 2 days later (today), when I can FINALLY pick up my contacts, I call the office to only be greeted by a voicemail saying that the office won't be open til June 3rd. Wow. THAT'S MORE THAN A WEEK. Now because of some ignorant secretary who was extra careful not to tell me that the office would be closed for a week and a half starting Wednesday, I am taking my business somewhere else. I've had enough horrible service from these people. Dr Bruder would do himself a great favor by paying for customer service skill classes for his dim witted employees to take at the Union County College.
