I was here very late one Saturday night, as me and my firend were in need of pizza and Den Gode is one of the few places that serve food untill 11 at night (at least on Saturdays). There weren't very many other guests, so service was quick and the waiters were cheerful.
I ordered the classic parma ruccola pizza (parma ham, arugula, pine nuts and parmesan), which I would rate as average plus, compared to other Oslo pizza places. The sauce was good, but could have had stronger flavour. The crust was crispy, but slightly tasteless and very dry - slightly reminiscient of a dry cracker, rather than pizza. The toppings were good quality and plentiful, however. They also serve a sauerkraut-ish pickle side salad (guests can help themselves) that went well with the saltiness of the pizza.
At 105 NOK, this is a quite cheap pizza option in Oslo. The place itself had a relaxed cozy atmosphere, with mainly sofa seats with lots of cushions and pillows (perhaps too many for some). Definitely a nice place to spend an evening with friends (or a date..), although I wished the pizzas had been a little better, as I would like to come back. read more
