Just around the corner from our Thon Hotel, so easy walk. Also right on a tram line, so easy to get to from anywhere in Oslo. A very wide selections of food types, nationalities and drinks. There are Mexican items along with Italian pastas and pizzas and seafood (Norway) and hamburgers/sandwiches from North America. I loved their wide selections of beers, ciders and wines. Really more of a relaxed, casual cafe. Servers were young and easy going. And they were efficient, interpreting the menus and making recommendations. Prices were not as steep as you might find in more upscale places in Oslo. A good place were you can relax, read your guide books and take your time. read more

It's a 3 star no doubt. I would come again but not for the Fish n Chips. They were soggy and bland. Not sure it would get business if not in the hotel district. Staff are good though so really think this may be quite critical. read more

To be fair, I am basing this review on one visit -- but my one visit was positive. I was staying at the Radisson Blu around the corner, and searching for a place that had vegetarian options. Tulips had two magical words on their online menu: "Veggie burger" and "sweet potato fries." Being as jet lagged as I was, I didn't even notice that was more than two words. The veggie burger was kind of the consistency of falafel without the middle eastern spice. It came with a small side of guacamole, and a sort of mayonnaise or aioli dressing, with some greens. It was delicious -- I chose to have it without the bun, which I recommend; I imagine with the bun the graininess of that with the "burger" would be a bit overwhelming. The sweet potato fries rocked the casbah. I found the server to be very nice -- neither rushed me nor forgot about me. Were there a lot of vegetarian options? No. But if you're going for lunch or a quick bite, there is this as an option -- and this option, at least, I can certainly recommend. read more

Don't really Iike this place. During lunch there are a lot of people and difficult to find a place, when you find then it's difficult to hear what the other person is saying. Not so many vegetarian dishes and they are not so good. read more

We had a difficult time creating space for all of us and we sat way to close and in front of the toilet so it was difficult for people to get in there. They had only two white wines and none of them tasted good. The young girl who waited us didn't know anything and it didn't feel like there was control on the situation. This was out first meal after landing in oslo and it was really good! I'll be honest we had low expectations after looking at the menu. Everything was a weird fusion dish. For example- Mexican pasta or a beef wok or a pizza or an omelette. So we ordered 2 pastas and like I said were so happy. The Mexican pasta was a little spicy with a black garlic taste to it like everything had been thrown in the wok. The curry pasta was super creamy and had bits if jalapeño floating in it. We didn't realize it at the time but they also had the best deal on beer so would recommend stopping here if you're gonna try to knock back a few. Service was good! read more

One of my favorite places to eat in Oslo actually, cause they have such a good variety in their menu. The fish soup and the wrap is really good. BUT, the service is not... You rarely feel very welcome when they just throw the menus on the table and leave you there for a long time after you're ready to order. I always try to pay a long time before I actually have to go, cause it's always a hassle to get the waitresses attention. read more

I used to love this place. I would always get the pasta mexicana and my boyfriend would get the surf and turf. It seemed our go to place when we wanted to eat out. The food was good, the prices low, and the atmosphere relaxed. One of the last times we were here, we both complained how our food was tasteless and had way more oil than last time. The time after that, we went here to meet some family. I unfortunately had made the suggestion. I got my usual as did my boyfriend. We sat there for awhile after eating and suddenly it hit. Everyone had to use the bathroom at the same time. We were all dying. Even though it takes us about 15 minutes to walk home from here normally, we ended up taking about 45 minutes because our stomachs were in so much pain. We had to stop at just about every bathroom on the way. Not pleasant. We were hoping this was just a one time experience from one of our favorite restaurants, but the exact same thing happened the next two times we went there. I have not been back since and do not plan to. I am not sure if they put too much oil in the food now, but whatever it is, my stomach just can't handle it. A very nice and welcoming place. Nice atmosphere and reasonably priced beer. I haven't eaten there though. In the background there was good music from the 70s and 80s when I was there early on a Saturday evening. Perfect for my taste. read more

I have actually had lunch here a few times a couple years ago, and back then I enjoyed it. Its pretty cozy inside and the food seemed descent. I havent been back since though which is odd, dont hear to much about it. However I was here the other night with friends for drinks. Still cozy and quaint. read more

Finding a place where the food is good and the price is reasonable is not always easy; especially in Oslo. I came across this place because I was staying at the Radisson Hotel which is right next door. I love the place. The staff is friendly. The food is excellent and the price is even better. I went there twice and I have no complaints. I highly recommend Tullins Café for anyone on a low budget, but wants quality food. read more

This place is fantastic. I feel that other reviewers have been unfair (vegetarians, complaining about service). The food was really good for a pub and the place in general is really awesome inside and out. The pics do not do this place justice. It's not a 5-star meal and it isn't trying to be. It is also very reasonably priced for Oslo and you can get a beer for under 60 kroner. Thumbs up, if I'm ever back in Oslo, this will be my go to place. read more
