Just an all around good place to eat. The owner was there that day and I would bet he's there alot, seemed to be really concerned that you enjoyed your meal. Clinton is exactly half way between my family in Anderson and where we are located in Columbia. Dempsey's was a great spot to meet and eat. They had no problem handling our large party, and since it is a buffet everyone found something they liked. Generally I only do BBQ and Indian buffets, but Dempsey's was good. We had ages ranging from 4-70 and everyone was happy. Staff was polite and kept our drinks filled. We'll be coming back quartlerly for the same meal. read more

This has been a family owned business in town for as long as I can remember and is the best pizza restaurant around. On top of the pizza buffet having chicken wings and being great, the salad bar is also the best in town. I'm from ga and Stevie B's is our place like this or cc's but my wife is from Clinton and she must have it at least once while n town at least to remind u of the lack of quality if nothing else. Stopped here based on the Yelp reviews and judging by the way the parking lot was full it is not a secret anymore. The place was really packed but the restaurant is run very well. Great service all the way around. The food was kept replenished at all times. The salad bar was fresh, full, and top notch. The pizza was exceptional with a variety of flavors from cheese, taco, blt, philly, traditional flavors, but what got my attention was the pimento cheese/ jalapeño pizza. A strange combination but really worked together. A must try. The wings were very small and not the highlight of the meal but I am a wing snob. Two adults and a child were fed and feeling full for under $25 with the 5% cash discount. A great value and a greatl family restaurant. Dempseys is doing it right. Stopped here early on a Saturday evening (about 5:30) and pulled up to a packed parking lot. Got inside and was greeted when we walked thru the door. A little bit of wait, but seated within 10 min. Buffet style pizza place although they do have a regular menu. Salad bar very good, well stocked and constantly being tended to. Pizza was fresh and no waiting for any type. The also have wings, lemon pepper, teriyaki, bbq. No breading or sauce, just right. Good pizza, spaghetti, desserts on the bar too. Great service, great price. Even if you don't live in Clinton, it's worth the drive to Dempsey's to enjoy their tasty pizza! Every time I've been I've run into families from surrounding towns that drove 30 minutes or more just for Dempsey's Pizza! I've been to Dempsey's on numerous occasions and have never had a bad experience. They always have a great variety of pizza on their buffet plus wings, spaghetti, soup, and a fresh salad bar. I usually skip the salad and jump right to the pizza and wings. They always have pizzas you would expect to find on a pizza buffet - cheese, pepperoni, etc. But you have to check out their special pizzas like cheeseburger pizza, taco pizza, pimento cheese pizza, and their dessert pizzas. When we arrived, there was a line formed outside waiting to be seated - a very good sign in my experience. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated - and the feeding frenzy began. Pizza buffet - several varieties of pizza, salad, chicken wings, pasta.....pizza was phenomenal. Wings OK. Dessert pizza - oh my. My favorite was the pimento cheese pizza. Owner's wife was making the rounds, asked how I liked it - told her it was wonderful. She said it's really good with jalapenos, and asked me if I'd like one like that. Sure! So off to the kitchen to have one made. Service like this (as well as from the wait staff) was superb. A must stop - and will return if in the area. read more

My husband and I moved from Spring Hill, FL 13 years ago. We are sorry we did not eat at Dempsey's till years later!! We love everything they have out on their buffet bar!! We like to go when it is the busiest...when pizzas are coming out Hot and Freshess!! During this time they will make ANY combination pizza you might like!! My favorite includes Feta Cheese, Bacon, Mushroom. Taco pizzas, BLT Pizzas...they will do many traditional pizzas with great red sauce or white sauce. My husbands LOVES their lasagna and spaghetti! The salad bar is always fresh and offers a lot of different fresh ingredients. They are constantly keeping it spotless and replacing the veggies. NO WHERE can you find a place that also now has All You Can Eat Wings which also is included!! Have to save room for dessert...our favorite is the one with apple filling and with a slight drizzle of sugar sauce on top! ANYONE OVER 55 can eat there on MONDAYS for only $6.00!!! We do not know how the owner can do this...but we do appreciate this!! If you get their before 5pm on Mondays...will not usually have to wait. If you get there after 5:30pm...the line is out the door curing down the sidewalk!! WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE OWNER & HIS WIFE. They are hard-working individuals and ALWAYS friendly no matter how busy they are!! 2 of their sons work there along with a large staff of waitresses and young men behind the preparation area. The service is great and the buffet is excellent, filled with all types of pizza offering that you won't find anywhere else. Just as any typical pizza buffet you'll find cheese, pepperoni, etc. But here you'll find specialties pizzas like taco salad, pimento cheese, cheeseburger and dessert pizza like chocolate chip and peanut butter and jelly. To accompany their wide variety of pizza on their buffet, they also have wings, soup, spaghetti, and a fresh salad bar. Dempsey's has recently expanded and is great for birthday parties, anniversaries, and other special gathering. The staff is friendly and does a great job with keeping the pizza buffet and salad bar clean and filled. If theirs a type of pizza that you're familiar with, but don't see it on the buffet, they'll take your request, put it in, and even tell come to your table and notify you when it's done. Though the service and food is great, the cost for buffet is a little overpriced. None the less, if you're ever passing through the small town of Clinton, Dempsey's definitely makes it a worthy pit stop. read more
