We were in St. Martin on vacation for a few days and chose this place for our first night in town. The space is absolutely beautiful and the service was top-notch from start to finish. We started with drinks and they were strong and really well made. For entrées, my cousin had the fish and enjoyed it, and I had the steak. It was decent, but I didn't realize it would come pre-sliced, and it could've used a bit more salt. The side of mashed potatoes was very good. They surprised my cousin with a faux birthday cake and a complimentary dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch. It seemed like almost everyone there that night was celebrating a birthday! I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu. This is a great spot for photo ops, girls' night, celebrations, or even date night.

Whether you want to go there for an event or just a small group for drinks and food, I would highly recommend The Lumberyard.

The Bar Figaro bartender recommended this place to us since they were about to close for the night…read more It was a Saturday night during thanksgiving weekend so downtown Newberry was slow. The Pour Richard bartender mean mugged us while we walked in while he was sitting down at the bar with two other guys smoking a hookah. He got up and immediately asked us for our ID's. While we presented our ID's, I told him that we were referred from our previous bar, and he just asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered a beer and he went back to talking to his hookah guys again. We then asked to close out across the bar since he was still sitting down the entire time with those guys. I decided to bring up the obvious that they are a Philly bar since they have Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, and Pent State wardrobe everywhere around the bar. He just grabs my card and says "yeah" and gives me the card back with no response. What is going on with this guy? We were just trying to grab another drink for the night before crashing until our ride home next morning.

The crowd there is very accepting and welcomes every newcomer with open arms! They encourage an atmosphere of healthy communication and friendship! You won't find trouble or fighting there like you might at a lot of other bars at night. Easy access to a pool table gives you casual entertainment, as well as the bar sporting an arcade style bowling game and three separate TVs for watching pretty much whatever you are in the mood for. A Touch Tunes jukebox on the wall means that you can play any song your heart desires while you grab a cold one from their wide selection of beer and small selection of wine. Every once in a while, they have a fish fry hosted by a local fisherman who cooks on site, and on holidays, they offer food as well. Occasionally, they have a food truck on site. Not to mention, they have a small selection of snacks and sodas stocked at the bar at all times. Wednesday night is APA pool league night, and they welcome players to join their team, The Twisted Ducks, whether you are new to the game or an old pro. Saturday nights are Game Night and karaoke, and you can expect some great singers in the house. They offer a selection of board and card games available for you and your friends to join in on, of which the most popular are Cards Against Humanity and Heads Up! If you haven't checked this place out before, you're missing out. It looks daunting from the outside, but once you're in, the mood is absolutely wonderful! Everyone is a friend there, just waiting to connect with you! You should go down there and see what kind of fun there is to be had down by the river. You won't be disappointed!

It was really loud for me and could only hear the people next to me. Ordered some drinks and they seemed to be backed up as it took awhile, but their cocktails were very good and yummy. I do like their family style of chips and salsa, especially the spicy green sauce in the bottle. However, it would be nice to have some spoons to share the salsa for the group. I had the cheese enchiladas and it was really delicious. The enchilada sauce was tasty. The rice and beans are also family style and was a nice addition. I did try the chorizo queso and it was a bit too watery for my taste. Service was great and would be back for the Tex Mex food here again.
