Great vibes, smooth hookah, and a solid lounge experience…read more Vibez Hookah Lounge lives up to its name. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively, with comfortable seating, clean surroundings, and great lighting that sets the mood whether you're chilling with friends or enjoying a DJ night. The layout gives you space to lounge without feeling crowded, and the music adds energy without overpowering conversation. The hookah was smooth, flavorful, and well-prepared--clearly done by people who know what they're doing. Equipment was new/clean, coals were managed properly, and the smoke quality stayed consistent throughout the session. It's the kind of place where you can actually sit back and enjoy your hookah without constantly asking for adjustments. Shout out to Clarione who was happy to answer all my questions as a rookie. DJ nights are a big plus. The music selection keeps the vibe going and brings the lounge to life, making it a great late-night spot. Add in games, food (bought to you by The Pull Up Host), and a friendly crowd, and it turns into a full experience rather than just a hookah stop. Overall, Vibez Hookah Lounge is a solid spot for good hookah, good music, and good energy. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a laid-back but upbeat lounge in San Jose.

We looked over our menu and had a hard time pronouncing and figuring out what to eat. Our server was so patient with us and explained the entire menu, also told us that he is Turkish and showed us how to pronounce some of the names and letters After much thought, we ordered the acili muhammara (peppers and walnut dip with pomegranate molasses) , Uc Borek (phyllo rolls with 3 type of fillings), and the adana platter (lamb skewer with sides). The bread basket that came with the pepper and pomegranate molasses dip very good, and it was a great start. The pomegranate gave it a hint of sweetness which balanced the heavier pepper flavor The uc boreks were flaky and crispy, and came out hot af. loved the zucchini and cheese filling! The lamb was full of flavor and came with rice and a Greek salad. That being said, the flatbread had a lot of oil, since the skewer was placed on top. The lamb itself was soft and had no gamey taste. The greek salad complimented and contrasted the heavy and rich tastes. We also ordered the pistachio kunefe and ice cream for dessert. The texture of the kunefe was delicious! I loved the stretchy sweet mozzarella and the crispy crunchy of the toasted phyllo dough. We got a side of mastic ice cream to go with the kunefe. slight licorice and herby taste. It was interesting but still good though Thank you Meyhouse for an awesome intro to Turkish food!

Dishdash is the only Middle Eastern restaurant I love as a fellow Palestinian…read more The dishes feel authentic to our cuisine and since I am still learning my way through our recipes, so this spot is my go to! Firstly, the fact that you get an unlimited supply of Pita and Zeit / Zaatar oil alone makes it feel like home. Very similarly, my Siti (grandma) always has us well fed right from the start, maybe over fed, but that's besides the point and very connected to our culture, you won't go hungry. But be careful not to fill up solely on bread, plus you can use your bread to soak up all the sauces later on. My absolute favorite dish is the Mansaf which is a creamy yogurt based lamb and rice dish. The meat comes out veryyy tender and when you mix it all together with the sauce and rice, it's rich and decadent. It's a large portion and can feed 2-3 as a main if other bites are shared. Bites I recommend- the Falafel, Kibbeh and Hummus as starters. The staff was very attentive and friendly, making sure we were rightfully fed, had drinks refilled constantly, we felt taken care of. They play lots of upbeat old school Arabic music that reminds me of my childhood. Check out Nancy Ajram if you haven't heard her music.

Since this was for Father's Day, I was rather surprised my dad wanted to eat here considering I was used to the Fremont style of "dish and Dash." I was rather shocked to see actual groups and larger tables with my seating arrangement and even nice relaxing, looking comfortable chairs along with a number of decor that looked pretty authentic to keep up with the theme of the cultural food. Everyone in my family eat across the menu vegan, Vegetarian and meat eaters! Lol I'm somewhat in between and I got a chicken Shawarma and it was perfectly made. My brother got the Vegetarian delight and that looked better than my chicken Shawarma wrap because there was so many different flavors on his plate!! Granted, when he got his plate, it took the server a good 20 minutes extra until the pita bread was ready. Lol. My boyfriend got some lamb shish kebab dish that looked really interesting. There were different flavors and textures and he really enjoyed the dish itself. I did not partake. My dad and sister got some meat soup like dish that had lamb in it and they both loved their dish and said it had a lot of flavor and such a small size portion! They both took home leftovers! We were utterly stuffed and nobody had any room for dessert, but we will definitely be back again since this particular "Dish and Dash" can feed everything from Vegetarian to meat eaters! So a giant happy blended family! Hee

The fried chicken was perfectly battered, cooked, and crispy. I am salivating just looking at the picture I took. The corn and cheese was the perfect side, not too cheesy and the corn was so juicy. The tteokboki was the best I've ever had, chewy and digestible unlike some places who undercook it. This meal was so delicious and satisfying, I will most definitely be returning. We also had a small bottle of soju to top it off. I an so glad we came!!

You can forgive them for that and I'd imagine if I really needed something I could've grabbed their attention. The bathrooms desperately need some attention. And apparently, they're trying to save money on soap by diluting it with what feels like 80% water. I've never seen such a bizarre money-saving tactic. Please just give us real soap. Come on. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in months. Dust everywhere but given that it's not a fancy restaurant and it's a spot for a late night drinks and eats you kind of expect that from a super crowded place but everyone seem to be having fun and I had a lively atmosphere so despite the watery soap, I guess I would go back, especially for the garlic soy chicken and it's a pretty good late night option.
