I had to travel to Washington, DC for an in-person (yes, they still exist!) meeting and training…read moresession. Well I didn't want to drive and as for Amtrak's Capitol Train, well see my review....As I was staying on the Maryland side of things, Southwest had the best schedule going in and out of BWI. Southwest had gotten a bad rap over the past few years, but they did get me to and from PIT on time. Having boarding group A and TSA Pre-Check was a plus. Oh and I did get my little snacky-snack a nd drink.

My wife and I were on Flt 156 from ABQ to PIT on 03/28/2026. When we arrived at ABQ airport, we…read moresaw that flight was delayed. We went to customer services to see if this delay would impact the connecting flight from LAS to PIT. The SW Rep told us that the delay was from a flight crew matter (timing out and getting a new crew) for the flight from Phoenix to ABQ, which would be the plane to take us to LAS. Due to the amount of delay, he indicated that it was impossible to make the connection. He tried to re-route us for about 15 minutes. Because SW Air doesn't reciprocate with other airlines, there were limited options. The counter rep (who was very helpful) gave us three options: (1) He could get us to either Columbus OH or Cleveland OH and take a flight the next day and get a rental a car and drive from Cleveland or Columbus to PIT, or (2) Go to LAS, stay overnight (at our expense and fly out in the morning), or (3) Stay in Albuquerque another night (at our expense) and fly out on a 5:50 AM flight ABQ to LAS and then onto PIT. We chose option #3, since it seemed most reasonable and least costly. The delay changed our schedules (as we lost the day that we expected to be at home) and we did have to get an UBER for approximately $45 in the morning for our 5:50 AM Flight (#153, ABQ to LAS). Because it was a SW issue the Customer Service Rep told us that this qualified for a LUV voucher because it was a flight crew delay that caused us to miss this flight; he gave us a voucher form to scan and begin the process. He said it could take up to 30 days to process. I submitted a voucher; I received an email that our case was denied because it was less than a 3 hour delay. I called SW Customer Service; after my long explanation they indicated that they couldn't help me, and to resubmit a LUV voucher. I then saw that my miles from the flight never hit my account so I call Rapid Reward help; this Rep added my miles and told me to send a "Complaint" because this was a SW Air issue and it should qualify for a LUV voucher. She indicated that the response I received was an "automated system" response (a person didn't review it) and I needed to file this complaint in order to have a person (rather than an algorithm) review this situation. She was confident that it would qualify for a voucher. I followed her advice and filed a Compliant. It total, I've now spent several hours working my way through this system. The Result: The next day the Complaint Service Rep told me to file for a LUV Voucher, which I had previously done. I looked for the spot to do this on their website, and it was buried somewhere, but I didn't find it. I simply gave up. So despite two SW Air Reps telling me that I qualified for some type of compensation for this problem, and spending several hours trying to follow up, SW Air's change in policy (taking these voucher reviews away from the Customer Rep staff and allocating them to an 'automated system') prevailed. It's not the 'old SW Air' where customers were treated with industry leading customer service.

I've flown with Spirit a lot over the years and I've never really had a bad experience, but the seats no matter where you sit suck if your 6' tall or more unless you get a big seat up front which I've flown on a lot but now they are always sold out before you book a flight it seems. I purchased an emergency exit seat for this flight because they have great leg room but the seats are so narrow due to those stupid metal spacers in between the seats that are in a fixed position. The flight attendants were average at best in the friendliness department but I have flown to several destinations where they were some of the best. Th pilots were nice and friendly. I've flown to EWR out of PIT several times with Spirit and it's usually problem free but this particular flight was delayed for one hour which pissed me off due to it being a late flight already and I had plans in NJ. It was probably due to that drone bs. There was a little turbulence but nothing too bad. It's normal on this route it seems. I sat in an aisle seat and the middle seat was empty and a very nice lady was sitting by the window who I chatted with for a little bit. All-in-all the experience was decent . The prices make flying with Spirit worth any hassles tbh. Safe Travels :)

American Airlines is a major airline in the U.S. and is one of the largest in the world for the…read morenumber of flights and passengers. It also operates the regional airline American Eagle. In March 2026, my husband and I had round-trip flights on American Airlines between Pittsburgh and Miami. Their airfare, of course, cost significantly more than the airfare for a discount airline, but my husband wanted to fly on a non-discount airline in the hopes of having a better experience. We checked in and got our boarding passes without any problems. Our flights departed and landed only slightly late. The employees spoke politely with us. Our luggage was not lost. I did notice that a charger in a chair did not work.

Avoid Checking Bags - AA Will Break Them and Deny Responsibility…read more I recently flew with American Airlines (AA) and they returned my luggage with a wheel completely missing. When I filed a claim, they refused to pay for the damage, claiming a missing wheel is 'normal wear and tear.'. At first, they claimed it because of the overweight which is completely false since there is no record of the overweight when I checked it at the original airport - JFK (my flight is from JFK - PIT with AA) + the luggage was completely fine and functional (the agent of JFK airport will always check that when they checked in your luggage). After first false claim, they now say the damage is "normal wear and tear" which is really ridiculous AND again the DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. If the luggage missing a wheel, it's basically cannot function as a travel luggage. How do you guys classify it as "normal wear and tear"? and if you break something, especially property of your customers, should you step up and take responsibility and make it right to your customers? This is not just poor service; it's a violation of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, which explicitly state that airlines are liable for damage to wheels and handles. If you value your belongings, be warned: American Airlines has a policy of denying structural damage claims and will try to settle with low-value miles rather than taking responsibility. Disappointed!

I've flown Breeze several times and usually have a decent experience, but today at Pittsburgh (PIT)…read morewas an absolute disaster due to severe understaffing at the check-in counter. I arrived more than 3 hours early on one of the busiest travel days of the year specifically to account for long TSA lines. I went straight to the Breeze counter to get my boarding pass / check bags, only to be told by the single agent on duty that I had to wait at least two hours until "closer to boarding" before he could help anyone -- despite the counter being completely empty at the time. I came back an hour later and got in line. That same agent then disappeared for the next 45+ minutes while the line grew to 20-30 frustrated passengers, many of whom had flights departing in less than an hour. This isn't an isolated "one bad employee" issue -- Breeze simply does not staff the Pittsburgh counter adequately for peak travel periods. One person cannot handle bag drop, boarding passes, rebooking, and customer service for an entire flight by themselves. The airline needs to either eliminate the arbitrary "you can't check in until 2 hours before" rule or put enough agents behind the counter to actually serve passengers who show up early (which we're constantly told to do). Until Breeze fixes their staffing and counter policies at PIT, I can no longer recommend flying them out of Pittsburgh on busy travel days. Very disappointed.
