Del's Lemonade (or simply "Del's") is a brand of frozen lemonade treats that was founded in Cranston, Rhode Island in 1948. It was founded by Angelo DeLucia. The roots of the brand go all the way back to Naples, Italy in 1840. In the wintertime, Angelo's grandfather would carry snow into nearby caves and insulate it with straw. In the summertime, the elder DeLucia would craft lemon "granitas" made from the preserved snow, fresh juice from local lemons, and a bit of sugar. He would then sell these at the local market. It was Angelo's father Franco who brought the recipe to the United States at the turn of the century. After learning the recipe from his father, Angelo worked on a machine to produce the frozen lemonade. In 1948, he began selling his new creations from a pushable cart in Cranston, and thus "Del's Lemonade" was born! More frozen lemonade carts would pop up, followed by trucks and brick & mortar locations. Today Del's has more than fifty franchises in 20 states total, but most are in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. Angelo passed away in 2007 and his son Bruce DeLucia is now the owner of the company. Bruce's daughter Stephanie is also in the family business. I recently stopped at the Del's of Cumberland one afternoon while I was cycling on the Blackstone River Bikeway. There's nothing like an ice cold Del's lemonade on a hot day while you're out cycling! The Del's of Cumberland is just a short detour off of the bike trail. They had six different flavors during my visit and I decided to go with Tangerine Orange. It was really refreshing! Although this location seems to do mostly take-out business, they did have a few picnic tables for customers like myself to enjoy their frozen treats on the premises. In addition to Del's signature flavored ices, this location also sold various snacks and merchandise. Like most Del's locations, the Del's of Cumberland is CASH ONLY.

Omg What can I say? Dels is always good on a hot summer day! I prefer the lemon flavor so I get those tiny pieces of lemon every now and then in my sips. I've had mine with a pretzel inside since I was a small kid. I love this location-they always have quick service and are pleasant.

This number is out of service.. Very discouraged

We tried to call this store to place a large order today but the phone number is "out of service". So I'm assuming they haven't paid their phone bill in quite some time. This, to me, seems quite strange as they ran an ad in the Valley Breeze this week listing the phone number. Their Facebook page hasn't been updated since 2004, just saying. I guess I'll just make a bunch of gallons of frozen lemonaid in my super duper blender machine... This place isn't the only one that figured out how to mix lemons and ice and a crap load of sugar together..

    lemony goodness

Del's is a Rhode Island tradition that I have been obsessed with for the last 15 or so years...it's something I crave as soon as the weather starts to warm up. I recently stopped at the Cumberland location to get my first Del's of the year... Like a shining beacon of amazingness, I saw the yellow and green sign from far away and was happy to be visiting my first real Del's stand. Prior to this, I had only purchased my lemonade from the back of the truck at Colt State park or in front of Eastons Beach or at the old pizza place that used to be across from the carousel at Watch Hill. But this...this was the real deal. At the counter, I didnt even look at the flavor choices because when it comes to Del's- Im a purist. The real choice was what size...I went with the medium which proved to be just the perfect amount to both satisfy my craving and gave me only a slight brain freeze. Once again, Del's did not disappoint...the ice was pefectly blended and there were tons of lemony bits- the best part of the lemonade. I continue to be huge fan of this Ocean State staple and will be requesting another stop at the Cumberland stand during my next trip to RI. I also picked up some mix and will see if I can recreate the lemony magic at home...maybe with some tequila mixed in ;-)

Best part about this Del's (besides the lemonade) is that it's within walking distance from my house. Great staff and a great selection A+

Sushi, snacks, ice cream, drinks, lunch, candy, produce, frozen foods, I could go on and on, but you just have to go to experience it yourself! We hadn't been back here in probably a year and I won't make that mistake again. The standout item that I tried this time was the mango ice cream in the shape of a mango. OMG! It was so creamy and delicious. I wish I had a second. I had seen it virally on Instagram in the last few weeks and I would say it 100% lived up to the hype. Go!

They have a nice selection of all types of Japanese food, including refrigerated, frozen, and shelf staples. Lots of candy and snacks too, as well as toiletry items. We were there towards the end of the day, so must of the sushi was sold out, but the items remaining in the refrigerated case looked fresh and delicious. Prices were fair for all of the items we looked at, and felt lower to us than other similar markets we've visited. Although I think that the Asian Market off of Elmwood might have lower prices on some items. In addition to the market, there is also a counter where you can order hot foods to eat there or take to go. There is a nice seating area with chairs & tables, and there is also a counter with chairs next to the window. We'll be back earlier in the day next time to see the full selection of sushi.

I've been looking for real, good Hawaiian ice for a LONG time and have heard of Jim. They had a truck there that day - how perfect for a ridiculously hot summer day (especially after waiting for smoked bbq). I got a regular sized order - it came with three flavors. Price was fair, as it may be considered a "specialty" food item. There was not a wide variety in terms of flavors. Unfortunately, I couldn't taste the flavors I got. I basically drank pieces of ice and water with hints of whatever flavor I picked. The ice collapsed once I received my snow flower cone - it became half the original size. The ice wasn't the best quality I've had but I know they have a decent ice shaving machine. Also, the person serving the ice did NOT look happy to be there at all (however, I am sure it was hard to stand the heat that day). Overall, I was pretty disappointed by the overall experience, but won't let that stop me from finding the best Hawaiian ice outside of Hawaii!

The best part is that the food still tastes exactly how I remember it -- some things really never change! I got the ground pork rice and chicken cutlet rice, and both were just as delicious as I remembered. Of course, I also had to get the milk tea, and it seriously still tastes the same as it did 10+ years ago. That first sip instantly brought me back to my childhood. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and had a really nice vibe. It made the whole experience even better, especially being back at a place that has so much sentimental value for me. It's always special when a place you grew up eating at can maintain the same taste and quality after all these years. Definitely a nostalgic favorite for me and somewhere I'll keep coming back to!

I was kind of disappointed with the spicy wonton noodles, hence why I rate it 3/5 stars. The spicy wonton noodles wasn't spicy enough, or even at all. I don't have a high spice tolerance and even then I barely felt a kick. The lack of spiciness made the dish a bit bland overall. The popcorn chicken was good. Crispy. Tasty. I should've just gotten this with rice.
