I was greeted by friendly staff and could see a large amount of fresh toppings to choose from. Service was fast as it only took about 15 minutes to get my pizza and be on my way. This place is just perfect. We ordered 2 pizzas and a calzone (which I didn't even see on the menu). The staff is friendly, young, but hard working. The fact that they let you put whatever you want is definitely the plus. There was an advertisement on the window that you can order a pizza salad bowl. This place had the highest pizza reviews in the area . So we decided to give it a try. After looking over the menu we ordered 2 pizzas and a build your own salad . The pizzas are about 11". My daughter and wife both ordered the pizzas and they said the flavor was good . My wife liked the crunchy crust . She ordered her favorite ham and pineapple . YUCK ! But she loves it . My only complaint being the cheese and top of the pizza could use another minute to add some more color to the mozzarella. My salad was great . The poblano Ranch was very flavorful. . The salad was very generous. Also the combinations could be almost endless. I liked the layout the friendliness of the staff . All the topping and decisions might work for and against them sometimes . I'm sure I'm busy situations. The finishing topping to the pizzas could be fun . This place was definitely above average. We visited this local establishment while on family vacation and found it to be very good! The restaurant is a "design your own" type and features pizzas and salads. My wife and I got salads and the kids got pizzas. Both options are made with very fresh ingredients (the kids raved about the pizzas). There are vegan options as well as traditional options for both pizzas and salads. The pricing is decent at about $9 for a large salad and $11 for an 11" pizza which consisted of 8 small slices. For drinks, they offer a soda fountain as well as wines and beers (local beers are available on tap and in bottles). I tried a local beer called Spotted Cow and it was very enjoyable (rated on Untappd if you want to check it out). The atmosphere is a science lab theme with added music to boot! A solid spot in the Dells if you want an affordable meal, little to no wait, and have a variety of palates to please. We first discovered Dells Pizza Lab two summers ago when we needed a break from the heat and sun after a day at one of the water parks. Unfortunately the A/C was busted on the day we went, but the tasty pizza made up for it. DPL is an assembly-line-style place. You can choose an 11" pizza or a salad, and then select as many toppings as you'd like from their array of sauces, cheeses, meats, and veggies. I created a pizza with barbecue, garlic, mozzarella, bacon, chicken, tomatoes, and a drizzle of ranch. Everything was melted together perfectly and was good quality. The toppings weren't skimped on, but also weren't so piled on that it resulted in a soggy pizza. On my first visit, pizzas were about $8. We went again on our most recent Dells trip and pizzas are now closer to $10. I recreated my first pizza and everything was as it was, except for the chicken. It wasn't bad, but was very very soft and for me was off-putting. Next time I'll just skip it. On both occasions the pizza was tasty the next day straight out of the refrigerator. For me, half a pizza has me at my limit so it's definitely a two-meal deal. The staff has always been kind, the interior is kept up and clean, and people on the line always ask if you're happy with the amount of topping they've added to your pizza. There's basically no room for error since you get to dictate what goes on and watch them do it. Extra points for still being open between peak seasons - many spots we had looked at checking out were shut down, so we were extra pumped a place we enjoyed previously was shining bright in the low season. read more

This place is AMAZING!!!! OK, maybe I am a little excited. It's a small little fast-food looking place but it is big on flavor and quality. Build your own pizza or pizza bowl salads! We had a great time. Food was so good. Traveling with two teen boys and they got their own pizza and I got the pizza bowl (chicken ceasar salad). My husband and I stopped into Pizza Lab last evening (7/5) at around 7:30 with like 3 people ahead of us in line. The gentleman in front of us ordered 8 pizzas and the staff also had 3 online orders of 6,7, and 9 pizzas each. The employee told us she would make the gentleman's 8 and then would have to do the online orders and then would be able to make our pizza and it may be 20-30 minutes. We chose to wait because we were looking forward to Pizza Lab, we usually visit at least once a week!! We just wanted to let you know that the staff working on Sunday evening knocked it out of the park with getting the larger orders completed and taking care of the line backed up to the door!
