Spot in the woods we found out in early summer of 2025 was under new ownership. We have always…read moreenjoyed this establishment! Great pizza, fish fry & there fresh cut fries! Yummy!! So we headed on in like always-well, the new owner is basically a bar fly! We were the Only Customers and she couldn't even take our order! To busy talking to her teen children who were working/cooking. Finally got our pizza. Had to ask for napkins and paper plates. She told us "oh there usually on the tables " Pizza was pretty good. Then we had to flag the bar fly down Again just to pay!! Skip ahead to March 2026 thought we'd give them another chance. Fish Fry this time. Hmm, fish was definitely Hot but not as tasty as the previous owners served. Came in an old warped plastic basket w/mini portion of coleslaw (not the best), fries or baked potato( was 4pm-told us no baked til after 5) menu states after 3pm. Then server comes back and says, " oh I didn't know we had baked potatoes now, thought not til 5) Maybe server should know what the heck they are serving! Also, special was shrimp (which server said they were out of) glad I didn't want any. Also, heard the cook saying, "we only have 1 bag of fish left"!! WOW on a Friday night in Wisconsin during LENT!! Of course the Bar fly female owner was there playing slot video games and cackling! She informed the server that the woman's bathroom needed TP! That there was barely enough for her to use. Which tells me she used the last of it and couldn't be bothered to replace it!!! Lazy Boozy Bitch!! My adult children and inlaws tried dinner mud summer 2025- half the menu wasn't available!! They claimed the supply truck hadn't arrived yet. Needless to say they won't waste there time going again. And I would have to say the same. I have recommended this place to many people. Now I have regrets. I will now let them know NOT to waste their time & money.

Last week was the third time we walked out without getting served. The guy will look right at you…read morebut doesn't knowledge or wait on you. I'll spend my money at another establishment that serves and knowledges all customers!

Got a 16 in with pizza and black olives for four adults. The crust is really quite thick... more so than what I'd call NY style. Not a complaint! We just got so much pizza for the money! Sauce was very tomato-y. Not too much on the pie. A generous amount that stays under the perfectly baked cheese. Sausage was top notch. Will definitely get again, sine we come to DL at least once a year.

But from the moment we sat down, it was all uphill from there. The Italian wedding soup was excellent, rich, flavorful, and clearly homemade. The pizza was decent, nothing extraordinary but solid with plenty of cheese. We also ordered the lasagna, the spicy chicken dish, and spaghetti and meatballs. The standout was the spicy chicken: the "spicy red sauce" turned out to be more of a creamy, spicy blend, and it was fantastic. Everything came out piping hot, which I really appreciated. They also bring out warm rolls, and those were surprisingly tasty, soft, fresh, and perfect for dipping. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Despite the rough first impression, it turned out to be one of the best restaurants in the area.

The owner Sue was hard at work setting up the buffet, not too busy for a quick chat. My lovely bride opted for the buffet and salad bar, while I went for an end cut of the prime rib and salad bar. There were many options at the salad bar, all fresh and plentiful along with homemade soup. The buffet offered bbq ribs, prime rib, chicken and sausage. My wife raved how good it was. The end cut was a more than generous portion of meat, along with a huge baked potato. The prime rib was tender and flavorful. We highly recommend visiting the Woodbine for dinners.

Liked the salad bar, and people who got the soup (cheese and potato soup) liked it overall but they ran out of it. Brother in law like smothered pork chop, fried pork chop was ok, fried perch was good. People who had grilled shrimp liked it as well as rib eye was well cooked. Grandmother liked her fried cod fish. Spaghetti and meatballs was ok. Cons: Unfortunately the people who ordered walleye did not care for it- was too fishy. We did like the fried mushroom appetizers and cheese curds. Overall felt it was 3.5 but given some of the positives 4 leaning is good. The salad bar was a great hit. Great place to try but stay away from Walleye.
