We had a wonderful time with our group of ladies to celebrate Valentine's Day with a lovely dinner in the private dining room. Atmosphere and ambience is warm and inviting and the service and staff were exceptional! Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti was delicious and large portions! Three of us ordered the chicken parmigiana and my other friend ordered chicken cutlet and lasagna. It was so lovely. They put the chicken cutlet on the bottom of the lasagna. It looked amazing and my friend said it was absolutely delicious. I have had their lasagna before and it was fantastic and HUGE portion too! This review is for Delizia on 92nd & 2nd, and I am honestly shocked at myself for never writing this sooner--because I grew up eating here. I have literally watched Delizia change, grow, and stand the test of time while so many other places in the neighborhood have come and gone. This has always been one of my favorite pizza shops. What I love most is that it's a classic pizza shop in the front, and then in the back, it opens up into a full Italian restaurant--and the food back there is just as solid as the slices up front. Some of the best eggplant parmesan and baked ziti you'll ever have. One of my fondest memories is eating in the back restaurant with my grandfather, who recently passed. He ordered the eggplant parmesan, I got the ziti, we had dessert, and it was such a beautiful moment. That memory alone makes this place special to me, but the consistency over the years is what keeps it close to my heart. The service is always great, and there are so many familiar faces--it really feels like family. That's the beauty of growing up in a neighborhood spot like this. When I'm here, I don't go to any other pizza place. I don't care if a new one opens. I'm not even interested. Delizia is it for me. The restaurant side has a really nice ambiance--low lighting, cozy, and now they even do live music, which is such a lovely touch. The food is delicious, the service is warm, and the vibe just feels like home. Now let's talk pizza--because obviously. The Sicilian slice is everything, especially when it's fresh out of the oven, hot, cheesy, and perfect. Some of the best Sicilian slices I've ever had. Went here for a quick bite before having to head to MSG for a concert and it was alright, we sat in the front and ordered the burrata salad which came out with the world smallest burrata accented by the world's largest raw tomato wedges. Definitely a hard dish to share. I got linguine alla vodka which was fine, just a standard sauce nothing crazy. Honestly the only thing that stood out to me was the break basket lol the bread was so fresh, warm and good. True Italian bread. I also got a gelato afterwards. Very convenient to also have a gelato cart in the pizzeria! It was pretty good actually, very creamy. The perfect gelato texture. Fine place if you're looking for something quick but nothing memorable. Also felt like it was a bit overpriced but it's also NYC so comparatively, I'm not sure. read more

I had the most wonderful experience dinning at delizia. Upon arrival I thought it was just a regular pizza place but when I got to the back room the decor elevated and there was the cutest quartet playing music. Four older gentleman were entertaining the room while we dinned. Our waiter (Rolondo) whom I spoke to a few times about our reservation was nice attentive and offered his advice on the items on the menu. The food was delicious and the portions so much that we had to take some home. I love seconds for the next day. I was with friends celebrating a birthday but I'll bring my husband back for my second go around. Can't forget to wish Rolondo a happy birthday. Lastly for the four of us the bill was only $180. I couldn't believe. I thought they had left something off but no, everything was on the bill. I even asked for my cappuccino to come with a hear on it and they mad it happen even this it's not what they do often. Service impeccable and food was delicious. Authentic fresh Italian cuisine. I loved Delizia 92. We sat in the back room and were greeted by friendly staff. It was the perfect place to end a long day. Warm and inviting, we sat down to enjoy a bread basket filled with homemade garlic knots and Italian bread. Absolutely delicious. I had the veal Parmesan and spaghetti: also delicious. I found out about this spot through my friend who brought me here to try their food before he use their catering service. I have to say that the food was delicious that day. So now it's one of my go to spots when I want some good Italian food or pizza. On my latest visit, I ordered the chicken Parmesan with vodka sauce instead of marinara sauce. It's just my preferred little twist and it tastes delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. The vodka sauce was hitting. They also have delicious little garlic rolls, which definitely were tasty. The restaurant has two parts. The first part is more like a pizza parlor, but you can also order food up there. The second part is more of a dining room with a piano, which gets played on certain days of the week if you like, live music. I've experienced it, and it was very pleasant. Besides that, it's your average pizza parlor with patrons enjoying their meals. Whatever I do order, it's always delicious. Main dish was a good portion and worth the price, but the appetizer was way too expensive for the small portion you got. The bread is tasty but not the best quality. Musicians almost always play at least a 50 minute set. Here the music was lovely, but the musicians only played a 45-minute set which isn't enough for a person to decide what to order, and then have a drink, appetizer, and main dish without 15 minutes of no music. My friend was disappointed also because she came for the music rather than the food. The waiter was ok but not very accommodating. Delizia 92 is my favorite pizza in the neighborhood, but also amazing to dine in. I've been twice so far, in the back room on Thursday (live piano) and on Friday (live jazz). I live that they offer this dining experience. As for the food, I add the stuffed mushrooms to share, they were juicy and yummy. My main was the gnocchi (a bit acidic for my taste) and my friends had the lasagna and the lemon chicken (pollo alla francese), very juicy as well and well prepared according to my friend. Went to Delizia for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the back room is! There was also a piano player. Restaurant in the back room is small, about 10 tables all of varying sizes. We got a table for 2 by the window. We ordered the eggplant parm and hubby got the veal parm. One thing I would caveat is that the eggplant parm does not come with anything, however the veal parm comes with either spaghetti or spinach. We opted for the spinach. Well, another place I won't need to patronize anymore. I was in the mood for a couple Sicilian slices, one mushroom, one plain cheese. I entered and said: "Two slices, Sicilian, one mushroom, one plain." I didn't think much when my bill ended up being $16, but it seemed high for two Sicilian slices, so I inquired. I was told that I'd actually ordered *four* slices: two Sicilians and two plain ones (one mushroom, one cheese). I replied that's not what I meant. Combatively, they retorted that's what they heard: "both" of them. Sensing the figurative temperature rising, I tried to defuse things and told them I understood how they might've interpreted it that way, while also maintaining that my wording was a reasonable path to two Sicilian slices, one mushroom, one cheese. If you're an Erving Goffman reader (or even if you haven't heard of him), there's a conversational script for what happens next in a situation like this. Usually, as a gesture of good faith (or just cliche business advice that's still sage), the proprietor says something like: "Oh, that's OK," and then reverts the order. That's especially the case if it's a repeat customer. And, as a gesture of appreciation for good faith, the customer will often then say, "Oh, don't worry about it! I'll pay for it." It's sort of a version of fighting for the check at the table with your friends or relatives. Uh, that didn't happen here. I got hostility and defensiveness. But as Michelle Obama says, "When they go low, we go high." I paid for the four slices even though I could've walked out without doing so, and I won't be returning again. The business touts treating customers "like family," but I felt more like a loser in a cheap game of "gotcha." read more

Delizia 92 is a must visit whenever I am in the mood for super amazing pizza. This place never disappoints. When I had family at a nearby hospital many years ago, Delizia's food gave me, and my family so much comfort. Major life celebrations, Delizia's 92 catered our family's milestones. There were times when I lived in NJ I would drive into the City just to buy pizza from here. Delizia's 92 is special not only for the awesome food, but the workers are all very nice. Never ever had bad food, or a bad experience. It is such a huge treat, and joy to enjoy amazing food on each visit. If your ever on the Upper Eastside and want good NY style pizza, give Delizia's 92 a try. My favorite is the Grandma Pizza, or if it's just for me. I buy several slices of plain pizza. The slices are huge, large selection of various toppings. They sell bottles of wine, coke products, and there is indoor, plus outdoor seating. Parking can be tough, but you can find street parking if you drive around, plenty of garages. read more

We had a lovely dinner in the "back room" it's a secret neighborhood gem! There is live music several evenings a week, Sunday was one of those evenings! The food was just right and the wine was as well. The room is beautiful, they have done a wonderful job decorating with a gorgeous arrangement of pink blossoms in one corner that extends to the ceiling. And the table lights are just perfect! The service was spot on! We felt well cared for but not overwhelmed by too chatty waitstaff. He sensed just the right time to come to our table. All this for less than $50 per person! This is my third time coming here with about 20 other people for our Holiday Lunch. This time it was a disappointment. The food was served before we received our drinks. One person on our table did not receive his wine until after he ate his salad so he joined in our "toast" with a glass of water as did other attendees. On our table 2 people ordered chicken parmigiana: - One person received her order with completely melted cheese and tomato sauce spread across the entire piece of chicken. It looked so appealing that I was sorry I ordered the basil pasta. - The other person received chicken only partially covered in cheese with NO tomato sauce. He had to explain to the waitress how the order should be prepared. Rather than return the order, spread out the cheese evenly over the entire chicken and place hot tomato sauce on it, the waitress returned with a small bowl of tomato sauce on the side. Very sad indeed! -I ordered basil pasta but I left over half of my dish. The pasta was quite overcooked and most of the pasta had no sauce on it. It looked pale at best. Noticing the large amount that I left uneaten, the waitress kindly offered to package my leftover. However, I politely declined. The side order of garlic broccoli was delicious. No one on our table tried the spinach so I cannot comment. Our drinks were "cash" and handled separately from our party packaged lunch option. I paid for 3 glasses of wine but the waiter could only find 2 receipts at $11.98 each. I explained what the third wine was and he punched numbers into the screen, took my credit card, and gave me a receipt for over $50. Clearly, he was a bit overzealous with his math! I found this troubling because he was punching in a brand of wine I never ordered and there was no bar order to match what he entered on my credit card. - I showed the waiter my credit card receipt and explained that he charged me for 4 drinks instead of 3 drinks and 1 drink was a brand no one ordered. - He punched my wine order a second time. This time he charged the correct credit amount of $37.17. I handed him a $5 cash tip. I will revise this review if I my credit card was charged twice. I did not see him destroy the credit card receipt with the 4 drinks on it. Nor did I see him void it. I'm hoping that it is correct when my VISA statement arrives. - I ordered cannoli, but I found that the shell tasted dry. The filling was not sweet as I anticipated. I was happy to see my friends for lunch but I hope our group will look for another venue next year. read more

The best pizza and Italian food in New York City! My family and I have been coming here since I was a little kid. It's a neighborhood institution! Not only is the food always excellent, the wonderful and caring staff make you feel right at home. We always feel like part of the family when we're dining at Delizia 92! Joe and the entire staff are always looking for new ways to create a fun, warm, joyful atmosphere for their customers, whether by adding live jazz music or creating a beautiful (and safe) outdoor dining set-up. They even provided make-your-own pizza kits back in May for families seeking creative ways to entertain their kids! I was just there on my birthday to get my favorite ravioli dish, and was greeted by the staff with smiles, wine, and music. During these uncertain times, I'm so endlessly grateful that Delizia 92 continues to serve fresh, quality, delicious food. And I know "the best pizza and Italian food in New York City" is a controversial statement, but trust me: I'm a native New Yorker who has tried slices in every borough, and I always come back to Delizia 92! Contrary to what a lot of people think not all New York City quick serve pizza restaurants are created equal and Delizia is one of my go twos that is always great quality and delicious. I used to live right around the corner and during that time we would often go grab a slice and sit at the dog park nearby and watch the dogs play. I now live a little bit further away but I still order from Delizia and have also stop by to grab a to go slice after going out in the area many times. The staff that works at the front is always super nice and the service is always quick. I have never gone in the back to the sit down restaurant part, but I have heard great things and eventually need to make my way over there! read more
