Not especially exciting dish but done pretty well. The salmon is served on a piece of toasted bread and topped with greens. The greens were a bit too much and could have used a bit more salt. Overall still pretty tasty. The French chicken dish is a signature dish and I can see why. You get too pieces of chicken served over mashed potatoes with asparagus. This dish is really delicious. I will come back here just to order this. Chicken is really tender and juicy and the asparagus is cooked perfectly as well. For dessert I had the apple tart. This is ok and wouldn't really recommend. Not bad per se but wasn't great. The ice cream was the best part of the dish.

Came with a group, and shared as is the Hong Kong way. Really loved the enormous red cheese slicer that was used to shave our Grana Padano on the charcuterie platter, the stand outs of the evening were the gravadlax-- lovely and smoky served simply with a bit of creme fraîche and toasted baguette as well as the most wonderfully cooked lamb chops that were perfectly seasoned. Other than the mutton at Bowrington Road's Hot Food Centre this is probably the best lamb dish I've had in HK thus far. Full bar was there, but I only had wine. To roundup: Great concept, awesome service and decent pricing scheme. I'm a fan!

In addition the lift lobby doesn't look very inviting. Once you enter the restaurant the atmosphere changes totally. The setting is cosy, decor may be a little kitschy. All tables are separated by curtains, giving every party a little more privacy. This place for sure has a romantic touch. The wine list is short but that's not a problem. As most of the guests bring their own wines and the good news is that they won't charge you for whatever you bring. Service is attending and efficient. They're knowledgeable and will recommend the specialties of the house. Food emphasizes on French cuisine. Starters include French Gilardeaux oysters, torteaux and steamed mussels. The soup of the mussels is especially delicious. Seafood is very fresh. Don't miss out on the soups which include classic onion soup and lobster bisque. The mains include confit de canard, lamb Wellington, Holstein rib eye and kurobuta pork chop. All of those dishes are great, cooked to perfection. If you're into pasta try the fettuccine with boneless of tail. If you have room there's a good selection of classic French desserts. This place is highly recommended and it's really good value for money.

As with all the others, the journey here is marked with cautious anticipation - from locating the right factory building among the many other grey, run down entrances, to riding that elevator up to the right floor floor with a row of silent big metal gates marking the entrances of other tenants, to opening that one door and entering into a whole different environment of glassware clinking, servers hustling and diners enjoying their food. // FOOD // FRIED CALAMARI APPETIZER: this was recommended by our server (who was amazing btw) as one of the most popular appetizers there. The fried crispy calamari was made special by a spice coating and green pickled chilies scattered among the golden rings, and the avocado dip that accompanied it cuts perfectly into the oiliness of the calamari. Calamari wasn't THE best quality I've had, but the flavors more than made up for it to make me love this dish. I would highly recommend this, as this is quite a unique dish! SEAFOOD PASTA IN TOMATO SAUCE: don't think this was the exact name, but that's the gist of the dish. Super flavorful tomato sauce, generous portions of clams and shrimp bits, perfectly cooked pasta. Simple dish, but surprisingly yummy! BONE IN PORK CHOP: it came sliced up to reveal the perfectly cooked interior, so it was very convenient to share. Lovely juicy meat with amazing roasted vegetables, and it comes with a yuzu dipping sauce. Save some of the avocado dip from the appetizer, and slather it onto the roasted vegetables; it's actually delicious! TIRAMISU: again, a simple dish but made really well! It was creamy and the coffee flavors came through nicely. TOFU CHEESECAKE W BLACK SESAME SAUCE: so this was more of a novelty driven decision... We originally wanted the double chocolate tart but they took it off the menu, so I guess I was looking forward to something more rich. It was good, with a sprinkling of nuts on top that adds to the texture, but I guess I just don't really like tofu cheesecake (tastes a little too healthy haha) // SERVICE // The server who took our order was super friendly! She recommended the appetizer, which we ended up going with and enjoyed, and took the time to clearly explain the differences between two different pork based main courses when we couldn't decide. Our water was also refilled regularly and service was really attentive. // ENVIRONMENT // The decor was nice, seating was comfortable without being too crowded (they also have several large tables so this is a good spot for a group! We saw two groups celebrating birthdays that night). However, it was a little loud - maybe because of the way the acoustics in the room are, or maybe because of the fact that there are a few large groups. It's not to the point of discomfort, but you do have to raise your voice a little to carry a conversation, so that's what knocked the one star off. Overall, enjoyed it and will be returning!

Sky 726 Kitchen and Bar is a highly rated French fusion restaurant. You board the elevator to the…read more25th floor. We had no reservations and were promptly seated at a window four-seater which faced the glorious skyline of Hong Kong. The menu had lots to choose from, including a four-course generic menu. I like how they had a dedicated vegetarian menu section in the back of their main menu too. The male staff informed us that all drinks were 15% off that night. The drink I had was a white beer called Bianca Lancia, a pure malt ale brewed with organic barley and wheat malts. It has "a fresh and fruity taste, a low bitterness, and is slightly acid with a thick creamy and adherent head". It won the European beer of the year in 2016, the China beer awards in 2016 and is 100 per organic and made in Italy. The server poured the bottle table side into a long-stemmed beer glass. It was orange in flavour and easy to drink. It didn't taste too bitter either as the description claimed. The Bone Marrow with Escargots appetizer took forever to come (approx 26 mins for it to arrive). That's too long to wait for the first course when there weren't even that many guests in the restaurant. Nevertheless, it was a terrific appetizer. Escargot and bone marrow are two of my favourite appetizers, so to see them together on one platter was a dream. The escargots were lined up carefully along the bone marrow with three crispy toasts and salad on the side. A small spoon was provided for us to scoop the marrow onto the crisps to eat. The bone marrow was ample and just fat enough to be delicious. The crispy toast was SO good. The escargots didn't have a lot of flavour. I guess the best way to eat escargots is still baked with garlic in a dish. Our first main course was the Stuffed Cannelloni with Ricotta Cheese & Wagyu Beef. The wagyu definitely caught my eye, and I wanted some Italian cannelloni which led to this pick. After receiving it and eating it though, I realized that the wagyu beef was a bit wasted since it was actually contained within the cannelloni itself. You couldn't taste the pureness of the wagyu beef which misses the point of having wagyu versus any other kind of beef. The stuffed cannelloni was drowned in a pool of thick tomato sauce. The tomato sauce was actually not sour at all and a good consistency. I cleaned it all up. It was so delicious. The cannelloni was tasty and easy to eat. The second main course was served about 18 mins after the first one -- again, it felt like a long wait. This second dish was the Miso Glazed Black Cod with Daikon in Dashi. Black cod is such a common item in fancy restaurants and it was done well here too. The strip of black cod sat on top of two daikon columns with the dashi soup all around it. The black cod came away in flakes and was thoroughly well cooked. It was slightly sweet due to the miso glaze on top. The daikon was smooth and the dashi broth was clear and tasty. It would have been nice for this dish to be accompanied with some carbs like rice or noodles... but then again I understand that fancy restaurants do not pair their dishes like this. Usually, the feature item is a standalone. We ordered a dessert, the Flamin' Chocolate Fireball. This didn't take long to arrive and was an experience worth filming. The server brought forward the platter of the chocolate ball surrounded with diced up fruits. She then had a serving cup of flames that she poured on to the chocolate ball. I love dessert experiences like this. The chocolate ball was on fiyah! The server told us that the dessert was ready to be eaten once the flames started to die down. The flames licked around the chocolate sphere and melted it to reveal white vanilla ice cream underneath. The quality of this dessert was obvious. The chocolate was rich and also a bit bitter, signalling true quality dark chocolate. I actually liked the refreshness of the plain vanilla ice cream to cut up the bitterness and strong chocolate flavours. Some of the chocolate ball stuck on to the plate after everything had melted down. It was a really good quality chocolate dessert and a feast for the eyes. Overall, the portions of the food at Sky 726 weren't very big and so we were just satisfied enough. To feel filler, we could have ordered another main course or appetizer. Nevertheless, this was a really cool experience to be able to dine on the 25th floor and overlook Nathan Road and the rest of Hong Kong. The skyline was gorgeous with all the sparkling lights. Because of the unique views and romantic atmosphere, Sky 726 Kitchen and Bar is the perfect restaurant to enjoy a New Year's Eve dinner, holiday dinner, or special occasion. At the time of our visit in November, the staff had already decorated the restaurant in full Christmas and holiday gear.

When it was served we had to ask twice to make sure it wasn't steak, because it very much looked like steak! It was delicious ... The meat was juicy and soft and great tasting. Dessert was nice, nothing spectacular though. Service was abit disappointing. No one bothered to serve me when I walked into the place, which was basically a bar with a restaurant on the side. I had to look around myself for my friends. We had a waitress who was a little bit curt in her manner and tried to sell us the most expensive thing on the menu from the word go. There was also a waiter who openly admitted it was his first day when asked for recommendations. However he was attentive and nice. The biggest disappointment though, was that the lounge became a very noisy, not very classy, bar after 10 pm ... A bit like the bars on Prat Avenue. The staff closed the partition between the bar and restaurant but the atmosphere was strange. A bit of a shame as the restaurant had a fantastic view, but the set up with the bar was quite strange.

For appetizers, my family and I ordered the salmon, tuna, and pigeon. Salmon was great, tuna was meh, and the pigeon was great too. Portions were really small. As for the mains, we ordered the $688 steak and foie gras as well as the pork chop. The pork chop was a disappointment because my first thought was "wow I make better pork chops". The steak and foie gras was better but not worth it. The steak was tender but almost tasteless. I asked for salt which made it better, but it was still not as good as I had hoped. For the price we paid, I'm sure there are better places out there. If you're looking for drinks at the bar, this is the place to go. If you're looking for good food, I'd go somewhere else.

Luckily for me, the L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Hong Kong is 3 Michelin stars and also affordable (relative to its reputation). I decided to come here for lunch with my wife as my first ever 3 Michelin star experience. I reserved a lunch reservation about a month in advance. The restaurant is very romantic and fancy. We were seated at a bar style counter, and we were escorted to our seats. The staff were all very attentive. Many were multi-lingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. We ended up each ordering the lowest cost lunch tasting menu with one amuse bouche, one appetizer, one soup, one entree, and a dessert. We also each got a drink. I got a mocktail with lychee and mint which was an amazing palate cleanser between courses. The amuse bouche was a cracker with uni on top. The uni was very soft like Hokkaido uni and the cracker went well with the soft texture of the uni. We had a complimentary bread basket with a variety of different breads, all of which were amazing. I loved the croissants. For my own appetizer I chose the salmon caviar. I've never had that much caviar in my life in one sitting, it was amazing. My wife got the yellowtail carpaccio which was also amazing. The soup was a mushroom style soup with foam and a single matsutake mushroom. Soup was savory, rich, and a delight to the senses. We both got the pigeon entree. I'd never had pigeon before, my wife did but said she did not like it before. She loved this pigeon though, which was cooked slightly on the rarer to medium rare side. The pigeon was super soft. It was also wrapped with foie gras which made it decadent and rich. For dessert I chose coffee and also the coffee ice cream dessert with gelato, coffee crumble, and coffee jelly. Super rich but quite tasty. The coffee also came with a variety of small sweet snacks. Joel Robuchon truly lived up to its hype, and was well worth the cost. I will definitely come back.

It is one of the best croissant I have around the world. I love dessert. I was a bit disappointed when they change the Earl Grey Cream Dome to the new square version. The cake layer distribution in the new cube version is just now as good as the dome version. There are more cream than cake/chocolate ball crunch ratio. It is still good, I just prefer the dome version. I also tried their green tea red bean roll cake and that is not my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, I also tried their latte. Not my cup of tea again. It is below average for a latte drink. I mean it is better than Starbucks (and way better than McDonalds), but not up to the average latte level for a coffee shop. I could hand whisk a latte better than theirs, and given they have the machine... I have higher expectations. BTW I have been there 3 times during my Hong Kong visit, and by the 3rd time, they have a promotion where basically the drink combo is like HKD$20 cheaper (roughly). Not a driving force for me to buy their drink. I will opt'ed for the drink downstairs instead. Service is great. I will return.

I knew there's a restaurant on Hollywood Road that my friends had been recommending to me. I didn't put two and two together, which was a nice surprise when I was there. Stood at the front door for 30 seconds figuring out how to open the door, we found the button 5 seconds before it was too embarrassing. Pretty neat by the way, blended well with the rest of the street. Greeted by the staff leading down the stairs, "Obey the Giant" was there staring at you making you feel very excited already. Oh and there was a mini sculpture from Koons, a skull by Hirst, a wall print of Le Fifre by Manet (which I suspected to be from Banksy), a graffiti by André, and the Princess Peach by The Invader. A few calligraphy graffiti by Tsang Tsou Choi 曾灶財 even. If you love arts, you will fall in love with this place already. You'd have noticed how the restaurant and the menu were inspired by La Compagnie Generale Francaise de Tramway, the original company resided at this very same address at 1930s. They didn't oversell it though, so it was a nice touch to have. We had a 5 course dinner menu to share and a daily special. Foie gras, slow-cooked eggs with crab cake, red snapper, etc. They were all way too good but as they keep rotating the dishes, it wouldn't be the most helpful telling you how they tasted anyway. Trust your servers' recommendations, if anything helps. (Looking back I don't even think I've ever rated any restaurant six stars just because of the food). What was worth the extra start was service here, which was top notch to say the least. Both myself and my partner noted that they had two different servers to recommend to us the food and the wine respectively, and each of the dishes was served by a different server. We kept looking at the arts around us during the dinner, and a server came by and offered to give us a short intro to each of the arts (which we eventually didn't have the time, but that's beyond the point). We also casually chatted up with the last server who served us the dessert. He asked if it's any occasion we chose to have a dinner here, and we answered, "Yeah, not a biggie but just a cheeky celebration of [something personal]." He later, as a surprise, gave us extra set of sweeties with a candle and the "Happy [something personal]!" written on the dish. We went over the moon. Will definitely come back, maybe to try their branch some time. (And if the manager sees this review, please let me know if Le Fifre was Banksy's work!)
