Really, such a disappointment! It's in a great location and upon arrival, it's an attractive enough restaurant. However, the service is almost non-existent, even though it was an early Sunday evening and the restaurant was empty.
The wine: good selection but they just don't understand that white wine needs to be chilled. No bottles that we tried were chilled close to any correct temperature.
The food: I had French onion soup which was dreadful. The onions were not caramelized... just sautéed (and not enough) and dumped in some tasteless broth. Topping it off was a thin slice of bread with a few sprinkles of cheese. Tasteless and a waste of money.
My friend and I each had the Nicoise Salad: another disappointment... freezing cold lettuce, primarily iceberg, topped with ice cold almost raw tuna and green olives (Nicoise has black olives). The dressing was made with balsamic vinegar... also not correct for a Nicoise - it should be lightly dressed with a vinegarette of oil and lemon.
It's really too bad that nobody in management is paying attention... the restaurants nearby were all very busy and Chez Patrick was running at about 40% capacity.... I'm sure they will be closed soon enough. read more
