Vibes in Odelice! can change so quick - last minute the rushing lunch hour that you need to squeeze between two tables of office ladies, and next minute you can have a table of four working with your laptop. I guess that's why they will recommend you to come visit in late afternoon! As the name suggests, the restaurant is all about food experience - they have a very good deal in lunch time, provides with soup or salad, featuring with signature galettes and spaghetti, plus various sides to add. Entrees are not disappointed at all, my lunch begins with an superb mushroom soup with truffle, creamy, fresh and really get up my appetite for a big meal. The extra smoke salmon toast is even better, luscious mashed avocado is shining on the toast while the portion of salmon is just right! Highlight is supposed to be the handmade galette, being as a first time visitor, rather than creating my own galette, I am happy to stick with the popular parma ham with mozzarella, egg, tomato and fresh basil. Apart from a little bit dark in the center,my galette is a comfort food with good favor, it is an ideal portion for boys but girls can be over-filling. If you come in dinner time or weekend brunch, there are more to choose! Overall, Odelice! is a cute and cosy French restaurant. Lots of great food to choose, yet the price is still affordable. Oh, and did I tell you that most of their kitchen equipment are imported from France, and of course the wine! If you are looking for a causal hangout spot or good place to work, this restaurant is a stand out option in Wan Chai.

This little French restaurant, although not being as glamorous as the other fancy ones around the newly renovated Wan Chai, has been full of surprise. Before talking about the food, I want to say that the staff here are very cheerful, giving us a great positive boost after a dreadful day of work. They are very helpful all the way too, which made us feel like home. I noted that one of them had been having a great chat and taking pictures with 2 ladies from the PRC - great hospitality to the tourists indeed! As of the food, me and my hubby have ordered a tuna salad as a starter, a steak spaghetti, a rosemary pineapple waffle, a chocolate coconut crepe and 2 French beer. The tuna of the salad has been nicely seared, served with olive, artichoke, tomato and specially dressed with an olive dressing, which gave the salad a special touch. The steak spaghetti was very nice too. The mushroom sauce was very rich and the mushroom was a special type which I cannot tell its name. The rosemary pineapple waffle was indeed a special one, the fresh pineapples were cooked with rosemary and the waffle itself was so specially flavoured but perfectly matched with the pineapple. The chocolate coconut crepe resembled those I tried in Provence. The home-made ice cream was so good to go with the chocolate-based crepe, chocolate sauce plus grounded coconut, which made the meal complete. I truly believe that the chef has put some effort in making the food here special and real good, tho it cannot be told from the appearance. I will definitely be back again.

So, generally, I tend to overlook French restaurants. When I hear "French Restaurant", three words come to mind - "snooty" and "too fancy". I've been down this street before and I've overlooked this place many times as I've enjoyed my big,fat burger at Butcher's Club. Anyway, on to ranting of my opinions of Odelice!... So, surprisingly, upon entering this establishment, I found the surroundings to be pleasant and easy-going. It has a "cafe" type of feel to it and is not presumptuous. We came around 7:00 and the place wasn't busy yet. (By 7:30 it starts to fill up and space is limited - you better make a reservation). We started off with a spread...I can't recall the name (SORRY!!! I wish they would have a more developed website for reference.) It was a type of flat bread with different spreads and prociutto type meats. Anyway, it was delicious - a great way to start our meal. For our main course, we shared an order of mussels -with a side of fries with aeoli sauce - which is definitely is enough for 2-4 people to share, AND an order of iberico pork. Both orders are definitely an AMEN - Very tasty and satisfying - not too salty and not bland; a great balance in taste. My husband was telling me that he thought the fries could be better - maybe tastier, crispier or more dense - but, I guess if you're not a french-fries-kind-of-guy, it won't matter. We also had one glass of red wine (my husband) and one glass of white wine (me). My husband mentioned that the house red wine is not that good. So, you might as well skip the house wine and get something else up the list. My white wine was delicious - it wasn't the house wine. On to dessert!!! Now, crepes are always yummy... This particular crepe we ordered had an apple filling which, sadly, ruined the whole thing for me. It didn't taste like fresh apples so I'm sure it was from a can. This took the joy from me! But since my husband and I have the biggest "sweet tooths" we ate it anyway (LOL), but didn't completely enjoy it. What we did like was the "chocolate pudding". I'm not sure if it was actual pudding, but we did VERY MUCH enjoy this one. See my pictures for references! On to the big question...Would I come back?!?! Definitely. I think this is a great place for a casual meet up with girlfriends or a casual date. Or, if you just feel like eating alone... Most tables accommodate 2 - 4 people. There is one table that could fit 7 - 8 people. I had a brief look at their brunch menu, and it looks pretty enticing... Until nexttime...Au revoir! Ciao!

Nigerian born Chef Patron Raphael Duntoye has outdone himself with his extraordinary menu. We started with the Beignets de fleurs which are lightly battered (crispy on the outside, soft inside) friend zucchini flowers. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I could eat these daily. The Crevettes Tièdes à l'Huile d'Olive - warm prawns with olive oil were so tasty and seasoned just right, so we could taste the freshness of the sea with the olive oil. Carpaccio de Sériole - yellowtail carpacio had just the right amount of thinly sliced hot pepper to give it that extra emphasis. Divine. Poivrons Marinés à l'Huile d'Olive the roasted peppers were smoky flavored but not charred so we enjoyed the freshness of the peppers untarnished. Betteraves Marinées marinated beetroot tasted roasted and marinated and was bursting with flavor. Coquelet aux citrons confits baby chicken with lemon confit was aromatic and tender with a slightly crispy skin. Delicious. White truffles in pasta - what words could describe the wonder affiliated with tasting this amazing dish? The pan fried dover sole was fragrant and tasted like it was just caught within the hour - the freshness was unmatched. To top it all, we had the passion fruit, coconut and mango sorbet with their signature French toast, which tasted like the top of a creme brulee. Luckily for me, the L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Hong Kong is 3 Michelin stars and also affordable (relative to its reputation). I decided to come here for lunch with my wife as my first ever 3 Michelin star experience. I reserved a lunch reservation about a month in advance. The restaurant is very romantic and fancy. We were seated at a bar style counter, and we were escorted to our seats. The staff were all very attentive. Many were multi-lingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. We ended up each ordering the lowest cost lunch tasting menu with one amuse bouche, one appetizer, one soup, one entree, and a dessert. We also each got a drink. I got a mocktail with lychee and mint which was an amazing palate cleanser between courses. The amuse bouche was a cracker with uni on top. The uni was very soft like Hokkaido uni and the cracker went well with the soft texture of the uni. We had a complimentary bread basket with a variety of different breads, all of which were amazing. I loved the croissants. For my own appetizer I chose the salmon caviar. I've never had that much caviar in my life in one sitting, it was amazing. My wife got the yellowtail carpaccio which was also amazing. The soup was a mushroom style soup with foam and a single matsutake mushroom. Soup was savory, rich, and a delight to the senses. We both got the pigeon entree. I'd never had pigeon before, my wife did but said she did not like it before. She loved this pigeon though, which was cooked slightly on the rarer to medium rare side. The pigeon was super soft. It was also wrapped with foie gras which made it decadent and rich. For dessert I chose coffee and also the coffee ice cream dessert with gelato, coffee crumble, and coffee jelly. Super rich but quite tasty. The coffee also came with a variety of small sweet snacks. Joel Robuchon truly lived up to its hype, and was well worth the cost. I will definitely come back.

It is one of the best croissant I have around the world. I love dessert. I was a bit disappointed when they change the Earl Grey Cream Dome to the new square version. The cake layer distribution in the new cube version is just now as good as the dome version. There are more cream than cake/chocolate ball crunch ratio. It is still good, I just prefer the dome version. I also tried their green tea red bean roll cake and that is not my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, I also tried their latte. Not my cup of tea again. It is below average for a latte drink. I mean it is better than Starbucks (and way better than McDonalds), but not up to the average latte level for a coffee shop. I could hand whisk a latte better than theirs, and given they have the machine... I have higher expectations. BTW I have been there 3 times during my Hong Kong visit, and by the 3rd time, they have a promotion where basically the drink combo is like HKD$20 cheaper (roughly). Not a driving force for me to buy their drink. I will opt'ed for the drink downstairs instead. Service is great. I will return.

Post-COVID, it's gotten worse year over year and now that Nicholini is closed, the buffet no longer stretches across the entire floor, it's limited to just Brasserie. The restaurant was packed to the gills pre-COVID but now only a handful of tables were occupied while we were there. Gone is the unlimited lobster, shrimp and other seafood and instead you'll get a platter with one of each and if you want oysters, you have to pay a surcharge of US$4 per piece. There's no longer a carving station and instead they put out a braised beef stew and another low quality item I can't even remember. The sushi/sashimi station is also gone and instead you'll get a pre-assembled fish bite of some kind. The live pasta station is still there but with mediocre selection, it's good but not something you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The rest of the buffet is just so sad with very limited and low quality selections, there's a tuna fish salad on offer, need I say more? They're also stingy with their champagne, we had to ask for a refill a couple of times and they stopped pouring half an hour before closing. We've given this restaurant more chances than it deserves and this time we're saying goodbye to them for good. For the price that we paid which was over US$150 per person, there're better choices out there.

The steak had a good meat to fat ratio. The spinach was sautéed with garlic. The spinach had a very strong and delicious garlic flavor plus the perfect amount of salt and juiciness. Worth to try. Also, although the rice was just simple and steamed, the rice tasted good and it wasn't over cooked. The seating area was nice and had a nice outside view. Although the price may seem pricy, the food quality was totally worth it. Overall, very delicious meal and will come again to possibly try another dish. 10/10

There are so many hard to find gems and vintages. If you're not into French, they still have a decent selection of other countries. And for Hong Kong very reasonably priced! Their food selection is excellent. They have 4/5 courses menu's at excellent price. You can switch the dishes as to your liking. A la carte selection is excellent as well. And don't forget to ask for the seasonal specialties. We came here for the white truffle from alba. I always go for the classics, scramble eggs and tagliolini with white truffle. Their scrambled eggs is just to die for, still haven't found out the secret behind it, so creamy. Their tagliolini is made from eggs, again so good. The price per gram for the truffle is reasonable. Duck breast which I had for main is cooked to perfection, I especially love the koriander seeds as crust. My other favorites main include bresse chicken, duck confit and their lamb chops. If you have room for dessert go for the Mont Blanc and their classic apple tart. Imho Amuse Bouche is excellent value for money.
