Wife and I shared a Caesar salad, ribeye and creamed spinach. Originally wanted the prime rib but they ran out. The Caesar salad is made table side, even the dressing is made table side. It's a lighter dressing but actually made the salad very refreshing rather than the normal flavor found in the US. Ribeye was cooked perfectly (med rare) and we chose the pepper sauce which was also on the lighter side but allowed you to really taste the beef. Creamed spinach was richer than expected but still delicious. Even the bread was delicious. They had 3 different types and the only one I wasn't a fan of was the garlic buttered toast. It wasn't gross, just a bit too strong and heavy. We ordered a Manhattan and gin martini. Both were delicious and too easy to drink. They even gave us desert, little ice cream balls dipped in chocolate, served over dry ice Price matched the quality and service so expect to pay more compared to neighboring restaurants. Give it a shot!

I loved the appetizers (avocado spring rolls) and the king crab first course. The dessert was beautifully decorated like a piece of edible art. Having Santa Claus swing by was a nice touch. From the moment we walked in to when we left, everything was impeccable! The service was top notch, flawless and elegant, but not uptight like most other places. Our waitress was very attentive, even threw in a few jokes here and there, which you don't see much at any upscale restaurants, definitely made the experience more unique. They have live music EVERY NIGHT! The singer even dressed better than we did lol. This is definitely the place you want to dress up for, and not just because the dress code is actually enforced. Let's talk about the most important thing: food. Everything is cooked, prepared, and presented beautifully. The food is delicious. Even the breads and butters (3 different types of butter!) that they serve as filler before your meal are to die for! You can request as much of the bread as you want, and you should eat as much of the bread as you can since the food portions are very small. I know fancy restaurants are not the place to stuff your face and get full, but I do it anyway lol. If my meal was going to cost more than $100USD anywhere, I better walk out of there full! Overall, it was a great experience. I just wish the food portion was bigger. Compares to the other fine dining option at the Peninsula (Felix), this is a better choice if you don't mind little to no view at all.

The decor is that black and red that many Robuchon establishments wear. There is a diverse offering of baked goods, ranging from breads to macarons to cakes. The croissant here, while not a disaster, wasn't amazing. I mean, it's not the crap you'd see at a supermarket, but I expected more. The texture was reasonably flaky and buttery. The interior was fairly light and airy inside. I wouldn't have a problem eating this but given my experiences with Joel Robuchon bakeries in the past, I was rather underwhelmed by this selection.

My family already had dinner, but passing this in the mall I had to try his famous Rose Cake. I got the Rose Cake and my son got a Caramel Macaron. Macarons are his favorite. The prices of his cakes aren't cheap. The single serve Rose Cake was $7US and the macarons were almost $4US. While many praise his Rose Cake, I didn't like it. It left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. I can't even tell you what it tastes like because it has a taste of its own. I've never tasted anything like it in my life. The edible gold flakes on it was a nice touch. My son loved his macaron. He said it's the best he's ever tasted and he gets macarons everywhere we go.

This location definitely gets more foot traffic than the other location and has a more open room concept. They also have a large seating area for folks that want to enjoy their breakfast, brunch, or café items along with good company. My favorite item is their hazelnut passion fruit tarte. Lobster Bisque: 1/5 Looks beautiful, however the cream on top makes it super dry and the soup overall just made my throat hurt because of how dry it was. Taste wasn't good either, made my mouth stink for a minute. Fried fish: 2/5 Looks like salty fish from the fish market. Taste awful, the skin of the fish was too oily, made me sick. The fish was also quite dry and I didn't want to finish it. Carbonara Pasta: 3/5 It looked and tasted amazing, however the texture was really basic and the pasta was too firm. They ARE topped heavily in truffle slices but there was no flavour coming out of any of it. Truffle is what this restaurant is known for so having my truffle pasta taste like regular pasta is highkey upsetting??? To be honest though, if it weren't supposedly known for truffle, the food is actually good! Would I go back? Mmm. Probably not. 3/5

I had the tuna as entree and it was an interesting combo with buckwheat noodles and sea urchin. For main I had the duckling. When it was served we had to ask twice to make sure it wasn't steak, because it very much looked like steak! It was delicious ... The meat was juicy and soft and great tasting. Dessert was nice, nothing spectacular though. Service was abit disappointing. No one bothered to serve me when I walked into the place, which was basically a bar with a restaurant on the side. I had to look around myself for my friends. We had a waitress who was a little bit curt in her manner and tried to sell us the most expensive thing on the menu from the word go. There was also a waiter who openly admitted it was his first day when asked for recommendations. However he was attentive and nice. The biggest disappointment though, was that the lounge became a very noisy, not very classy, bar after 10 pm ... A bit like the bars on Prat Avenue. The staff closed the partition between the bar and restaurant but the atmosphere was strange. A bit of a shame as the restaurant had a fantastic view, but the set up with the bar was quite strange.

For appetizers, my family and I ordered the salmon, tuna, and pigeon. Salmon was great, tuna was meh, and the pigeon was great too. Portions were really small. As for the mains, we ordered the $688 steak and foie gras as well as the pork chop. The pork chop was a disappointment because my first thought was "wow I make better pork chops". The steak and foie gras was better but not worth it. The steak was tender but almost tasteless. I asked for salt which made it better, but it was still not as good as I had hoped. For the price we paid, I'm sure there are better places out there. If you're looking for drinks at the bar, this is the place to go. If you're looking for good food, I'd go somewhere else.

Deep fried is almost the golden rule for every trashy food, even in Hong Kong; the famous shrimp toast is actually minced shrimp smeared on a piece of bread and deep fried to crunchy perfection; and you got it, the piece of bread is soaked with grease. To make it even more damaging, mayonnaise is served on the side for you to dip the toast in. Damaging as it seems, but it is also very gratifying and is often the dish that is cleared the soonest. Hing Gung is often an event of the nights and there aren't a lot of joint cater to this batch of customers at this time of the day.
