Wow! Great flavors. Loved the tacos! It was hard to pick my favorite. I made sure to order a variety. The ambiance is more like a deli. Very casual and a lot of people were ordering to go. Service was friendly and prompt. The enchiladas were also very good, but not pictured. The green sauce had a kick to it we very much enjoyed.

Kalama Cone

Kalama Cone

Wow! This is so *cool - a legitimate ice-cream shop & so close to home!…read more We were greeted not only by an amazing aroma - but also by Sasha who helped us at the counter. They feature several different varieties of waffle cones, sugar cones and cups for ice cream. The cases were loaded with a wonderful selection of Umpqua Ice Cream, and they offer many toppings!

On 15/13/24, I stumbled upon Kalama Cone in Kalama, Washington. This is a a family owned business…read morethat opened August. 2023. The store features regional ice creams brands: Umpqua, Cascade Glacier, and Tillamook. They had 16 flavors including Old World Spumoni, Cranberry Cheesecake, Kona Coffee, Marionberry Pie, Maple Nut, and Huckleberry Heaven. I ordered a Kid's Cone of Old World Spumoni because it is a flavor that is hard to find. In fact, it had been decades since I last had it. The ice cream cone size was generous. This was my first time trying Umpqua Ice Cream. It was pretty good. The customer service from Michael was excellent! The store interior consists of two rooms and a window facing counter. There's also a bistro table outside. The tables and chairs were made by the owners. Whether you live nearby or are looking to take a break from highway driving, this is a nice stop. The ice cream is good, but not great. I wish they were selling Snoqualmie Ice Cream or Acme, both of which are made in Washington and are far superior to all three of the Oregon branded ice creams Kalama Cone sells. If I had an ice cream business, I would stay away from selling ice cream brands that can be found in most grocery stores. I say that as someone who drove an ice cream truck one summer. The items that sold best were those that weren't readily available elsewhere and cheaper to buy directly. I have pictures of the ice cream in the case, but I wasn't able to get a picture of my cone because I was traveling alone, my hands were full, and I didn't have a way to take a photo without risking dropping the ice cream. Critiquing Bear Paw Sweets & Eats: A Disappointing Experience…read more Bear Paw Sweets & Eats, while having potential, unfortunately falls short in several significant aspects that contribute to its overall unsatisfactory nature. Firstly, the quality of the food and sweets at Bear Paw leaves much to be desired. The promised flavors and textures often do not align with the actual experience. This disparity can lead to disappointment for customers who were expecting a certain level of taste and satisfaction. Inconsistencies in food quality can undermine the establishment's reputation and customer loyalty. Secondly, the pricing structure at Bear Paw is notably unbalanced. The cost of the items offered doesn't always justify the portion size or taste. This disconnect between price and value can make customers feel as though they are overpaying for what they receive. Reasonable pricing is crucial for retaining customer trust and fostering positive reviews. Moreover, the customer service at Bear Paw often leaves patrons feeling unappreciated. Rude or inattentive staff can sour the dining experience, no matter how delicious the food might be. Friendly and attentive service is a cornerstone of any successful establishment, and neglecting this aspect can drive customers away. The ambiance and cleanliness of Bear Paw Sweets & Eats also contribute to its unfavorable reputation. A cluttered or unclean environment can detract from the overall dining experience and deter customers from returning. The physical setting plays a vital role in shaping perceptions and should not be overlooked. Some of the donuts also come prepared in weird/estranged shapes. (View pic below. Given to my friend Henry) In conclusion, Bear Paw Sweets & Eats disappoints due to its lackluster food quality, unbalanced pricing, subpar customer service, and inadequate ambiance and cleanliness. Addressing these key areas of concern is imperative for the establishment to regain its reputation and ensure the satisfaction of its customers. Without a comprehensive improvement strategy, Bear Paw risks a decline in patronage and negative reviews, hindering its potential for success.

Bottom line: This is the short-tour of Charlie and the Chocolate factory. It's perfectly positioned…read moreby the entrance of the pool and also perfectly positioned for kids to drool over the sweets. This establishment offers a little bit of something for everyone and it's worth a stop. Service: a little slow. I'll be first to point out that I don't think it's the people's fault for the slow service. They work their butts off trying to meet the demands but there's usually a lot of people wanting ice cream or some kind of pastries and only two of them working the counter (only one in the afternoon). This can lead to some added anxiety as parents are just trying to get to their next stop or kids sobbing over the lack of sugar in their hands. Either way... I think this could have been a little better. Food: great. Dip and dots, churned ice cream, hot Sundaes, popcorns, or donuts... they have them available for you. The Ice cream is a little freezer burn but it was delicious after a full days worth of swimming and it chased the pizza nicely. If you are looking for some sweets to add to your water park vacation, look no further than to this venue. Overall: I'd definitely visit again. It's not bad, they have variety, and the prices they are asking for is reasonable.

Love this place, simple and delicious good…read more We visit the store regularly on Tuesday. Also we ordered kids' birthday parties a couple of times from them, too. They made the donuts birthday cake perfectly. (Considering the regular cake with too much icings, I decided to have donuts with cream, which is much healthy and tasty!) If you stop by, please try their jalapeño cream cheese fresh bread, it is awesome good!

After a yummy lunch outing elsewhere, my son and I were craving donuts for dessert, so we stopped…read moreby here since the name of the store appealed to us, and the location is near our home. The lady who took our order was patiently waiting behind the counter and provided the bare minimum friendliness for service -- nothing extravagant nor terrible. We purchased a dozen donut holes and 4 individual donuts: 2 maple bars, 1 chocolate bar, and 1 regular chocolate donut, as well as their flan, which was about $20 in total. The donuts were packed into cheap brown paper bags, so they're easy to eat immediately. The donuts were cheap enough, but the signage for the prices was located on the left on a chalkboard on the wall, which was very easy to miss after entering the shop, and we didn't notice it until after we ordered. My son enjoyed the donuts, but I found the donuts tasted stale, perhaps because we visited in the evening when they were no longer fresh. I would have liked them to be sweeter and fluffier, but it was inevitable that the quality would be mediocre based on the time we arrived. They offered an okay selection of donuts, which were all displayed visibly as soon as you entered, and there was some variety, but nothing that particularly stood out to me besides the maple bars, so not much creativity there with the donut options. Perhaps, again, it was due to our late visit. However, they do offer other desserts, like pastries, but those looked too filling for me at the time, so I settled for the flan, which was still rich and heavy, but I was able to refrigerate it to enjoy at a later time. I noticed they sold some sweet bread too, like conchas, but those didn't interest me at the time. They also offer drinks and ice cream bars on the right after you enter. There's a decent amount of seating, but the shop was practically empty when we were there, because we're weirdos who visit around 18:00 for donuts lol. There wasn't really anything that caught my attention enough for a return visit, besides the convenience of the location. Overall, not a bad visit, but nothing enticing enough for me personally.
