I was charged $11 for a latte that was entirely tasteless foam, and a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. The bread was so stale and hard that it actually cut the inside of my mouth. I tried to force myself to eat it because I hadn't eaten all day, but even I couldn't finish it.To make matters worse, the sandwich was severely lacking in ingredients, containing less than one full slice of bacon, half a slice of cheese, and an egg portion that didn't even equal a single egg. This was meant to be my only meal before an important job interview, and instead, I am left injured, starving, and frustrated. Please contact me immediately to process a full refund. read more

Couldn't find the place so I called and they told me it was mid-level at Journal Square station. The gentleman was very helpful and had one of the workers prepare exactly what I was wanting. Service was prompt and they were very polite. The store is very clean. I will return. read more

Dead. This sandwich is dead. I'm a New York transplant living in JC so looking for a cool and reputable place to get breakfast. NYC does Bacon Egg and Cheese the. Best. This Deli is ok for other delights and their staff is quick to get your order done. BUT the breakfast sandwich is dead! No fluffy eggs, tasteless bagel and straw-like bacon. For $7 this is a horrible sandwich to get your day started! There's no flavor to this and it's very small. I recommend this spot for wraps and late lunches but not breakfast. read more

So just noticed another review. $8 for an "egg sandwich", awful. Stale. I was a short order cook once, it's not hard to make a sandwich. Service was fine and quick. I wonder what they're selling this place for read more

Avoid this place by any means. I paid $8 for a breakfast sandwich that I wouldn't even feed to a stray dog. The prices are astronomical for the below prison cafeteria grade food they serve. The "food" if you can even call it that, is absolutely disgusting and will make you sick. Please avoid this place at all costs. read more

gentrification is what it is. unfortunately, now we have the same bacon, egg, & cheese on a roll but for now than $5, the same slow careless pace for cooking but brighter lights, the same dingy fruit in a better container. If you're going to "improve" can you upgrade something else besides the IPA beers? like have fresh food of quality to sell & serve? have service that's moderately thoughtful? Also they say there is a wing special with a soda on a spun at the entrance, but they don't honor any of their specials. Just confusing marketing and rude service. Do something new that's not just aesthetic. Jesus. A new sign and paint doesn't mean a thing and are clear bandaids to a waning quality experience. read more

Pros 1. Chicken Drumstick Satay was very Flavorful and Tender. 2. The Strawberry Cheesecake was good. 3. The Garlic Knot was good. 4. The Bread pudding is Delicious. 5. They have a Variety of Options including Wines and Liquor. Cons 1. The Rice's Texture is on a Tougher Side and it's NOT how it was Cooked. It is the Brand of Rice that's made to Preserve it's Shape and Texture. It reminds me of Uncle Ben's Rice.. I use Carolina Rice its Fluffy and Cracks Open but over time it will get mushy/sticky if it's not made Daily. Since you have to add water to reheat the rice... read more

If not the most miserable slice of pizza I've ever ordered, certainly the most overpriced anywhere in the tri-state area. $6.99 for one "stuffed" eggplant / spinach slice. The slice was placed in the oven for reheating but as I ate into the pizza, found it cold in different parts. The marinara sauce which costs .75 cents and was also served cold. It was watery with the garlic overwhelming whatever flavor the tomato sauce had. In summary, disheartening service and quality. read more

Hit or miss, not the same as it was years ago. But unfortunately, the customer service was extremely uncomfortable and in fact insulting. My recent experience on 2/5/21 had me experience how another patron after me had purchased two bottles of wine, and was offered a plastic bag, no charge. My items were given to me, I asked nicely if I may please have a plastic bag, and the cashier told me it was $0.25 for a bag. Other stores usually charge a nickel or dime, yet I wasn't even offered a bag when I was paying for my items. Yet the other individual who purchased the wine happened to be of the same ethnicity, was offered a bag at no charge, I felt embarrassed and insulted I was not given the same courtesy. I will no longer spend my hard earned money at Deli Plus anymore for being treated the way I was over a plastic bag to carry my items. I said "Shame on you" and walked out. Never setting foot in there ever again! read more

I'm going back and forth between a 3 and a 4 star rating. Can I say 3.5? There are pros and cons to Deli Plus, the 24/7 one-stop-shop deli convenience store inside the Journal Square Transportation Center. It's one flight up from the PATH train platforms and one flight down from the bus terminals. There are two entrances - one closer to the PATH escalators and the one closer to the Summit Avenue JSQ Transportation Center entrance (that circular ramp). Deli Plus sprawls a good amount of space. On one side is the store section, where the cold cases and grocery/convenience items are stocked. I've walked through here once. Like many stores in a transportation hub, the prices aren't competitive; they are a bit expensive. However, they sell a varied selection of products, so if you are in a jam, they may have what you need. I go mostly to the deli side, as probably most people do. There are many options from which to choose, but they vary in degree of tastiness. I'll admit right now that I've never had the hot bar food, so I can't attest to anything offered there. I have a food budget during the work week, so the prices for the hot bar are a little too steep for me. The selection looks fine though. Here are the items that I order -or have ordered - that I think are not bad/pretty good: - Pizza slices (plain, eggplant/ricotta cheese, spinach/ricotta cheese, buffalo chicken) - Make-your-own-salad salad - Veggie burger deluxe with fries - Any of the soups are good - Egg sandwiches during breakfast time - Home fries Also, for the junk food aficionados, lined in front of the deli counters are racks of chips galore. There's a varied selection of Herr's snacks and other bagged, high-sodium goodies. There are a number of cold cases with drinks on this side of the Deli Plus. I usually need to order to-go, but there are a number of tables where you can eat if that's what you want to do. My one tip is that, if you go, try to time it so that you do not order during the meal hour rush. While normally service is fast, there have been times when I've waited a little too long for my order. Like, I'll have placed my order way before any one else, but I'll be the last person to receive my order. Sometimes these things happen, but try to hedge your bets by timing it if you are under time constraints and need to bring food back to an office or catch a bus or train. read more

You guys know I don't like to give one star reviews. But I must when compelled or in reasons of health. Deli Plus, you were here when I got to JC, and still standing now. Back then you were better, cheaper and charged less for extra toppings. Your prices have risen by more than 100% in five years. You get the point. Tonight I got sick from the turkey wrap, lentil soup and/or coffee I had unsuspectingly for a quick dinner. I don't know if it was the turkey sitting on the table not in ice or visible refrigeration. Or was it the banana peppers? Maybe the cutting board? Ugh idk. Last time. Peace! read more

The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is for the convenience since it is right off the Journal Square path station. Many times when I have stepped in, I often have had to deal with bad attitudes from the employees. Just today I had to deal with a cashier for giving an attitude because I didn't provide her with the right amount of change (even though the amount she originally stated was what I gave her). Along with that incident, I had stopped in with a friend to pick up a slice of cake, which tasted like it had been sitting outside for 2-3 days - threw this straight in the trash. read more

The few times I've taken the PATH train, I realize there isn't really good food around their PATH train stations. UGH. I had to go to the Journal Square PATH station for training classes in a building upstairs. The closest food/deli store was Deli Plus. I walked outside the station first and realized there is nothing by this PATH station. That's awful. There are so many people taking this train and this area needs better food choices. I had the chicken salad wrap which was eeeh. I asked for chicken noodle soup and I got minestrone instead. But to my surprise the minestrone soup was good. So at least my lunch was not a full disaster. I enjoyed my soup. And it was fast because I didn't have much time. It worked out. read more

On my way to work I get off the PATH in JSQ and cut through here. Sometimes, I need a little bit of a boost...so, for 99 cents, I grab an egg on a roll. Now...I try not to do this more than 3 times a week...carbs...but for 99 cents + I get 4 hours of sleep a day = Not thinking clearly at 6 AM. I would order it every other day a few months ago...and then one day...one of the NJ Transit workers told me I could get salt and pepper on it for no extra cost! And then, then he said...you could get it toasted too! And it's still 99 cents! You can also get ketchup on it, but I hate ketchup. Ain't nobody got time for that. read more

I see there is a change in personal, which could mean a change in ownership. With this change I see their customer service has disappeared. Im not sure if they didn't see me standing there because when they called next he looked to the side of me. I can not allow anyone to mistreat me. read more

Never ever eating here again. Came in and cleaned my own table to sit down, looked at the napkin, and it was black. I thought I was just wiping down crumbs, it was as if they hadn't put a spray of cleaner on it for 1 year. Disgusting. They don't wipe down their tables? Milk and sugar is behind the counter so you have to describe how you want your drink done. Jeez. Overpriced. Some stuff a little stale. WHY even bother? If you don't clean your tables then I'm sure you don't clean in the kitchen. Disgusted. read more

The employees and managers are crooks and stole $10 from my mother. They rolled up her change purposely and gave her a half bill and closed the register quickly. When the manager was confronted he said he would look at the cameras. Nothing was done. When we took the bill to the bank they could not accept it because it was too damaged. It's not much money but it's the principle and poor customer service. read more

I give this piece of shit a try once again (it's been months since I visited) and here I am still getting bad customer service! Their cook is disgusting! He gets mad every time I stand there looking at him while he makes my food he, always throwing down my food like.., sir don't get mad at me because I'm watching what you're doing so you won't be slick with it! Every time I ask for ketchup y'all always forget to put it on the sandwich. If a customer is asking for you to do a simple ass task just do it!!! It's not that hard! I will OFFICIALLY not come back to this place. read more

I used to come here and get cooked food such as breakfast sandwiches, bagels, etc. But I didn't hear favorable things about this place in regards to their "cleanliness" so I just come here to get packaged goods. I'm in the PATH station a lot, especially at midnights, so when I need a quick snack I do come here. The staff is friendly also and they do carry a lot of stuff. It's like a Kwik-E- Mart. read more

I stopped in here after getting off the PATH and I really wish I just kept on going. I ordered a chicken parm panini figuring that it should be a pretty hard one to screw up. Not only did it take about 15 minutes to make, but it came out and was cold in the middle. The flavor was terrible and it wasn't even heated up all the way. I will never stop here again for food. read more

I placed an order for delivery... French toast, sausage, 2 eggs sunny side up. 45 mins later, I get a call confirming my address. (I'm on a main street that everyone should know, not to mention I'm less than 3 blocks away from the restaurant) another 15 mins pass, finally the manager and the delivery person show up. I give the money to him, and this is a pet peeve of mine... he asks me how much do I want back. I ALWAYS tip, but don't just assume that you're getting one, especially when you couldn't find my address which is in plain sight. Surprisingly, the food was still warm, and it was really good!! I've seen places screw up French toast, or they over cook the eggs... but not this time, it was perfect!! The presentation could have been better (the eggs were folded in on each other) but overall, I was pleasantly surprised. Sunny side up eggs were done perfect, the French toast was tender and thick, and the sausage patty was everything it could be. It was overpriced, but for what's available for delivery in the immediate area, beggars can't be choosers. I would definitely order breakfast again. read more

Of course not everything is perfect. Honestly, coming from a person who has worked in many food establishments and been a chef in fine dinning. I don't think it would be possible to have a 24 hour business and have everything be perfect. All I can say is I come here a lot. I mean at minimum 2-3 days weekly. The staff is friendly and to me that is number one in any business. Some food items are better then others. You just have to try and see. I can tell you. The Chicago style stuffed pizza is the best so far. read more

I have been here so many times to mainly buy coffee and snacks. It's right off the Journal Square Station of the PATH train. Deli Plus - Having my first cup of black coffee for the day... - Delis Near Me - Jersey City, New Jersey

For a fresh, albeit now expensive salad to grab for dinner, this is the place to go. For a small mixed green salad, 4 toppings, with dressing will cost $8.50, but does come with your choice of soup (beef n' barley, cream of broccoli and chicken nooe) with a nice crusty sesame bread. All very tasty . I guess the increase in prices were necessary to pay gor the remodel. Either way, Im glad to have a place to get a freshly made salad. I dont know how people can go wrong with their coffees. Coffee sucks. No need to say more.

Run don't walk to somewhere else. The food isn't great but that is only true if they can get york order right 9 out of 10 times the order is completely wrong after repeating it 4 times. This place is great, staff is always nice, pizza is all I've ever gotten here. The only downside is that this place is crazy expensive (12 for tenders and fries and 5.50 for a lean cuisine??) But the two plain slices and a can for 6 is a decent deal and I'm always satisfied with it. read more

SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF!!! TO EACH OTHER!!! All I've ever gotten here is a coffee, twice. The woman at the register behind the deli counter is the best; really professional and nice. This morning there was another woman at the register right where you enter from the plaza side. She was being flirted with and enjoying it. I walked over to ask if I could order my coffee there, but she was so way into her flirt that she could barely register that I was there; like, she started to try and answer but he kept her attention. So I went to the other register, and lovely Lady took my coffee order and "Oscar" put a small on the counter. I realized my mistake and apologized and asked for a large "Light". Oscars friends came in and it took him another five minutes to get me a coffee which he put down with a scowl. When I got on the train platform and opened the lid, it was DAaaRRRK . BOOOO Oscar. Overpriced since it's right in the path station. But super convenient. Definitely don't buy alcohol here. It's marked way up. Go to the liquor store down the street and pay half the price. Bottom line: you'll pay less somewhere else but if you need drinks, food or alcohol in a pinch sometimes it's worth paying a little more for convenience. read more

way overpriced, rude and slow service. the management cant handle the high foot traffic, but they charge manhattan prices. the older, owner/manager men are especially incompetent and rude. theres always a line of customers in a hurry, and they have to *look* for a pen every time I pay by card. I told them they should have a bunch of pens on the counter for sale lol. it always takes soo long at the cashier. $9.10 for my pack of cigs here $8.50 down the street $1.25 for coffee here $1.00 down the street. they are raking it in because of the station traffic, but they dont deserve it. ive seen them *toss* change back at the customer! they are a huge inconvenience at this prime location.
