    1. Bacon Egg and Cheese Sandwich
    Dara R.

Dead. This sandwich is dead. I'm a New York transplant living in JC so looking for a cool and reputable place to get breakfast. NYC does Bacon Egg and Cheese the. Best. This Deli is ok for other delights and their staff is quick to get your order done. BUT the breakfast sandwich is dead! No fluffy eggs, tasteless bagel and straw-like bacon. For $7 this is a horrible sandwich to get your day started! There's no flavor to this and it's very small. I recommend this spot for wraps and late lunches but not breakfast.

Avoid this place by any means. I paid $8 for a breakfast sandwich that I wouldn't even feed to a stray dog. The prices are astronomical for the below prison cafeteria grade food they serve. The "food" if you can even call it that, is absolutely disgusting and will make you sick. Please avoid this place at all costs.

    Delicious Chicken Satay.

Pros 1. Chicken Drumstick Satay was very Flavorful and Tender. 2. The Strawberry Cheesecake was good. 3. The Garlic Knot was good. 4. The Bread pudding is Delicious. 5. They have a Variety of Options including Wines and Liquor. Cons 1. The Rice's Texture is on a Tougher Side and it's NOT how it was Cooked. It is the Brand of Rice that's made to Preserve it's Shape and Texture. It reminds me of Uncle Ben's Rice.. I use Carolina Rice its Fluffy and Cracks Open but over time it will get mushy/sticky if it's not made Daily. Since you have to add water to reheat the rice...

The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is for the convenience since it is right off the Journal Square path station. Many times when I have stepped in, I often have had to deal with bad attitudes from the employees. Just today I had to deal with a cashier for giving an attitude because I didn't provide her with the right amount of change (even though the amount she originally stated was what I gave her). Along with that incident, I had stopped in with a friend to pick up a slice of cake, which tasted like it had been sitting outside for 2-3 days - threw this straight in the trash.

The few times I've taken the PATH train, I realize there isn't really good food around their PATH train stations. UGH. I had to go to the Journal Square PATH station for training classes in a building upstairs. The closest food/deli store was Deli Plus. I walked outside the station first and realized there is nothing by this PATH station. That's awful. There are so many people taking this train and this area needs better food choices. I had the chicken salad wrap which was eeeh. I asked for chicken noodle soup and I got minestrone instead. But to my surprise the minestrone soup was good. So at least my lunch was not a full disaster. I enjoyed my soup. And it was fast because I didn't have much time. It worked out.

I ordered their Cold Sandwich #4 via Grubhub and I appreciate that their prices are the same as their website. The chicken cutlet is nicely seasoned and has a good thickness. It does get slightly overtaken by the mozzarella simply because of the size of it. The seeded semolina was soft, slightly chewy, but mostly fresh. I absolutely loved the chipotle mayo and cold crispness of the lettuce and fresh tomato that brightened each bite. I know this is a cold sandwich but I would honestly prefer it if the chicken cutlet and semolina bread was warm. They had other sandwiches that caught my eye, so I'll just have to go back soon. Good try!

If you been rocking since 1919, mi amor, I **have** to come see what's going on. That alone made me wanna pull up And let me tell you... I walked from Jersey City Heights down to downtown -- not a bad walk at all, un chin de cardio before breakfast . Real "treat yourself, mi amor" type of morning. Soon as I walked in... BABYYYY I felt like I got teleported straight into a little Italian market Shelves full of Italian goodies -- pastas, oils, snacks... I was like *yo quiero todo esto* It was giving *ciao bella, benvenuti, mangia mangia* vibes all day. The staff? Súper nice. No attitude, no rush -- just good energy. I told them it was my first time and asked what they're known for, and they really put me on No gatekeeping over here. My husband got the #7 (on a roll) I got the #8 (on a bagel) We sat outside and did what married people do... switched sandwiches halfway Now listen... mine was good -- turkey, egg, pesto... she was cute, she had flavor, estaba bien ‍ BUT HIS?! Ese sándwich estaba otro nivel. I don't know if it was the roasted peppers or what but *Dios mío*... delicioso, chef's kiss Only thing? Next time I'm switching my bagel for a roll porque ese pan estaba hitting different. The roll? Soft, fresh, perfecto. Also... let me tell you about the BACK They got frozen pastas, little Napoli-style dishes, a whole meat section that looked crazy fresh, and you can order cold sandwiches too. Esto no es solo un deli -- it's a whole Italian experience, okurrr. And yes... it's a *little* pricey, no te voy a mentir. Pero honestly? You get what you pay for. Calidad, sabor, vibes -- todo está ahí. I skipped the coffee porque estoy tratando de behave con el budget but next time? And I'm coming back for that banana pudding porque I'm obsessed no shame. They got a little patio if you wanna sit, or you can take your food to the park and have a whole picnic moment. Real main character energy. Ponte linda, grab your sandwich, and just vibe out. I wasn't sure where to order my drinks and sides, and a little more signage would go a long way. The pastrami sandwich absolutely lived up to the hype. I went around 10 p.m., and it was still busy. There are 10 carving lines to choose from, and drinks and sides (fries, coleslaw, and latkes) are ordered at the counter in the back. Also, don't lose your orange ticket--you'll need it to pay before you leave. I recommend ordering the pastrami sandwich with everything and adding onions for a little extra crunch. Pair it with a side of fries, and you're set. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in New York, and I'll be bringing my family. Katz's is a must-visit.
