We came for the good reviews as we were passing through but we come to Costa Mesa often. I ordered a breakfast sandwich. I wish I had taken a picture of the first one. The crescent was burned, completely black and the "scrambled egg" was like an omelet cooked dark brown, dry and chewy. I normally don't return something but I did today because it was inedible. They returned the sandwich but it was dry, hardly any cheese and no flavor. My daughter's sliders were "ok" but nothing to drive out of the way for. Came here for lunch and was greeted with the nicest service. The staff were excited to share their favorite food items and were happy to know we were trying their place out. We tried the beef sliders, Mediterranean bowls and hummus. All of it was super good and super clean ingredients. We sat outside and it was very comfortable. Next time, I would definitely get more protein for the bowl but overall we were super happy and loved the attention to detail on the presentation. The sammys are slider version with 2 and 3 slider options. I went with the French dip. I grabbed the 3 but 2 was plenty and one for later. Tasty sandwich, good dip for the slider. I grabbed some chips and a tea and enjoyed the patio. Looks like they have some good happy hour specials, I think it was 3 to 5? Good drink prices and food deals too. Place has a lot of specials. Place is known virally for their food challenge where you have to eat a whole saber's worth of sliders along with pretzel balls. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. They have both clean indoor and outdoor seating on the "patio" in the parking lot with a relaxed atmosphere. The sliders seem small but are filling with a combo and they have many fun flavors and styles. If false advertisement was in the dictionary, this place would be it. I have been seeing $5 breakfast burritos all over my FYP, so I came in on Sat to get one. First off, they are only $5 on Mon- Fri from 8-9am. Regular price $9 and if you want any protein, an extra $5. I went ahead and paid full price because I was already bamboozled. This burrito was not worth $15 and was honestly the most mid tasting burrito I've had. The salsa had close to no flavor as well. Would not be back for this. read more

OK granted the burritos are only five dollars between 8 and 9 AM but when I order a ham burrito, I expect there to be ham in it. These are progression pictures. The first picture I was two bites and three bites and five bites in finally came across a piece of ham. The cheese was practically nonexistent as well as as the hashbrowns so basically it was an egg burrito, mildly warmed And also they aren't made to order. They just scoop the premade mixture in a tortilla, wrap it up and throw it in paper. It literally took two minutes for three burritos and they weren't hot. Really it's not worth the hype. I'd rather pay double and get meat & cheese in my burrito. Also, we ordered three burritos. Listen to the one star reviews!! We had lunch at this place after seeing all the cleverly enticing social media marketing. I am sad to report Deli Nerds is an Orange County eatery you should cross off your list. We had 5 sliders, 2 sides, a bag of chips, and two canned beers for $60.00!!!! The sliders are on very dry, borderline stale brioche buns. The French dip slider is dry, the onions are far from carmelized and the purported grass fed beef is almost indistinguishable from the braised pork in the Cubano slider both of which have very obviously been made way too far in advance and served from a hotel pan that's been sitting in the refer for who knows how long. The smash burger slider does have two patties although they're lucky to weigh in at an ounce apiece, and and a slice of flavorless tomato (likely GMO) that has no place on a smash burger. Let's talk about the sides that came out almost ten minutes after the lukewarm sliders...the chicken salad is made with poorly chopped chicken and black olives. It has some sort of curry like seasoning in it also which clashes horribly. Oh and the egg salad!!!! Now this was the real show stopper folks. It's more like an egg salad soup. It was so soupy and runny it slid through the tines on the fork. It did have a half decent flavor though. The absolute highlight of our lunch were the Pizza Port beers. Two cans out of the cooler that were nice and cold. I really had high hopes for this place!!! I'm so disappointed. read more

We are so happy to have Deli Nerds in Mesa Verde Plaza! We just had our team party there and everyone asked to come back again! Tina was wonderful to work with. She was communicative, thoughtful and made sure to note food allergies and check on ingredient which was very helpful. Her honesty was very refreshing! The sliders and deviled eggs were a hit! In addition, they had a great selection for wine and non alcoholic beverages. The team was so kind, friendly and very helpful and quick to bring food, drinks and set up. The patio is beautiful with its lights, communal tables and plants. It is peaceful and the music is fitting the ambience and you can actually talk and hear other people. My friend and I stopped by for breakfast before school & I told her I've heard about the breakfast burrito and coffee for $10 deal. I thought the place was very cute and good seating available. We both got a latte, one with the brown sugar syrup and one caramel, but both were really just ok, would not get again or return specifically for a coffee. I did get the breakfast burrito and thought what you pay for is really good, good size and tasted good. Though, you do get the option to add a protein and I chose bacon, but I wish it just wasn't included at all because it was a pitiful amount. Truly, hardly any at all. I think if it wasn't included it would still taste good and not be disappointed in how sparse it was throughout. Or, if you can add on protein for an extra charge but get a quality amount would be better in my opinion. My friend got the French toast and said it was good. The biggest take away for me though was the time it took for our items to come out. I got my drink first, then about 5 mins later my friends drink came out. Then her food came out then a little bit later mine did. I placed my order at 8:58 and got my burrito at 9:23. There were a good amount of people there but they were already eating or finished. For me that is just a little bit too long to wait especially since you don't have a server providing updates that it's coming soon or something like that. read more
