Doud's is a small market, but it has lots of stuff. As far as I know, this is one of the only markets on Mackinac Island. There actually is another Doud's down Main Street toward the ferry area, but it's a smaller grab-and-go convenience store, mostly with snacks and coffee. My hotel was right across the street, so I bopped into Doud's a couple of times during my stay, to grab a bottle of wine (they have a decent selection of wine), some candy for my kids, and some fruit because I needed to eat something fresh. The store is tidy and everything is arranged nicely. They also have self-checkout kiosks, so you can get in and out quickly.

Apparently it started off as an IGA, but then broke away from the franchise and blossomed into what it is today. I love going to grocery stores when I'm in a different city, because they always have products that aren't available at home. So the last time my husband and I were in The Soo, I dragged him into the rental car to go check out Pino's and now he raves about it even more than I do, lol. It's huge like a Loblaws or Superstore, but has the feel of more like a Farm Boy or a Whole Foods. It has a great bakery section with fresh baked donuts! The prepared food section has lots of variety. We were growing tired of eating out so much on our trip so we bought a bunch of stuff to eat back at our hotel room.
