The doctor told me she was off in 45 minutes and didn't want to risk staying late, so she refused to see me. Instead, she sent me to another clinic a mile away--which I later found out had been closed for six months. I went back again today, saw a different doctor, and it was no better. He told me he didn't know how to enter my insurance, so he couldn't see me. When I asked where else I could go, he said he didn't know--no options, no guidance, nothing. If you're not a veteran, maybe you'll be treated differently here. But if you are a disabled veteran who fought for this country, don't waste your time. This clinic has shown me twice that they don't care about serving us.

I went in for a terrible Kidney stone attack. I have had these before but the last one was 26…read moreyears ago...! They gave me Morphine...twice...and the pain was still there. Then they gave me dulatin which knocked the pain right out. For some reason, Grady has a problem getting Dulatin. They say there is a shortage. Ok, maybe for them, but later the same month, I had another attack and went to St. Anns. No problem with Dulatin there. Something is wrong here. But otherwise, the nurses at Grady were polite, pleasant and helpful. I truly suspect that the attitude they develop comes from always being around people who are sick and short-tempered because they are in pain and after a while, I suppose a person (nurse) gets tired of being talked to rudely and starts to take it out on the patient. However, I, no matter how much pain I am in, try to be polite and respectful of the staff. And I get polite and respectful service from them in return. Granted, if they didn't want to work with sick people, they should have studied to become something else, but still, human nature being what it is, we are now at the point in our society where short answers and slight rudeness are becoming the norms. However, I have to say Grady did take care of me with very little wasted time...I waited for a few hours sometimes, but never while writhing in pain. They did take care of my pain issues. I have been to Grady for the Kidney Stone, for a stroke, for a heart ablation AFIB surgical procedure, for CAT and MRI and MRA brain scans, for Stents in the heart arteries and By and Large, Grady and its Doctors, Nurses and Staff came through for me. Granted, it may not be Riverside or Mt. Carmel, but if I were to score it, it would fall in the low 90's percentile, and that is not bad. I must have brought it up to him five or six times and every time he would barely examine me before essentially shrugging his shoulders and saying "I dont know". Eventually I started asking him for a referral to a specialist or maybe some x-rays to find the problem. He refused to give me any referral and even said X-rays were unnecessary. So eventually I went just scheduled an appointment at another specialist on my own. Had to wait a long time for an appointment, but the first thing they did was order an x-ray. A week later I had a diagnosis and was scheduled for physical therapy. Two years of begging Dr Serve for help and all I needed was an x-ray and a very simple physical therapy plan (playing with therapy putty for a few minutes a day). Next off, and way more concerning. I had some moles appear a couple years ago. I asked Dr Serve to take a look at them and it took him all of three seconds to say they looked fine and there was nothing to worry about... Except it turns out there was something to be concerned about. I started seeing a new Dr who immediately referred a dermatologist without me even bringing it up. I got the results back and turns out one of them was not atypical. Long story short, i have Been living with a mole that needs excised for two years now, in other words potential skin cancer.
