I've been using this urgent care for probably 20 years and I've ALWAYS had great experiences with them. I've been seen for everything from sinus infections to dog bites and their doctors are all incredibly professional, caring, and sometimes even more thorough than my PCP! I took my daughter for a knee injury during a sports event. Her knee was swollen and she was in pain. I requested an x-ray to determine if any issues. The request was declined after completing a two minute examination. They recommended ice, elevation and sent us on our way after they collected their $100 copay even though I've hit my deductible. Still in pain the next day I took my daughter to another doctor and requested an x-ray which was given. The x-ray confirmed she had a piece of her knee cap chip off and may need surgery. I understand urgent care is not top class but would expect more than a two minute evaluation. read more

This was the strangest and most infuriating experience. I had not recovered from my booster for a week then finding out someone I spend my entire day with tested positive for Covid, I flew around Columbus to find a test. I passed this urgent care. It said open and the parking lot had 2 total cars in it. I rang the doorbell twice and a woman finally came and cracked the door. She told me I needed an appointment and they're full for a week. I looked around and looked behind her, not a single person there. I said well is this spot open because no one is in this entire building or parking lot. She condescendingly said "we're expecting patients tonight, I promise". Like what? The entire place was empty! I get you wanna watch Netflix in the back but come on. 0 out of 5 stars, go to a real urgent care. read more

I will never come back to this urgent care! Came in with a bad ear infection pain & fever! Receptionist who was nice told me it's not a long wait- there's 5 people ahead of you! Well 1.5 hours later I was finally seen by a NP! She asked for my drops that my ENT prescribed the day before that were not working! She painfully shoved them in my ear for me which ran right out when I sat up! ( like I told her) They had no ear wicks in the whole place ( they help keep the drops in the ear) She told me I probably didn't need a wick anyway!! No exam of my throat or mouth or anything else!! Told me that she's seen much worse. Nothing prescribed to help inflammation or an oral antibiotic for infection!! 2 days later I'm still in major pain and my original ENT is calling in oral meds to take along with the drops!! The office here is old & dirty- see my photos! Thanks for taking my money & wasting my 2 hours for literally nothing!! I will tell everyone I know never to come here again!! read more

Urgent care is defined as "medical care for illnesses or injuries that require prompt medical attention but are typically not of such seriousness as to require the services of an emergency room". Alternately, the word "urgent" is defined as "a situation requiring immediate action or attention". If you ascribe to either of these definitions of "urgent care" this is NOT the place to go. Just before noon, I smashed my index finger and it was bleeding profusely. My doctor's office is closed from noon to 1:00 so I decided to go to the Urgent Care Center. I'm on Medicare with a Medicare Supplement Plan. For security purposes (I still have a Medicare card with the social security number on it), I do not carry my Medicare card but just my Medicare supplement card. The "blonde" (see other reviews) at the front desk never inquired about my injury but I assume she could see the blood soaked paper towel wrapped around my hand. She insisted that I need my Medicare card so I called my wife to check my card # which consists of my wife's SSN plus a 2 digit alpha/numeric code. The receptionist said it was coming up as an invalid #. My wife then drove to the urgent care center with my actual card and then the receptionist indicated that it was coming up with an invalid birthday. At this point, I've been in the Urgent Care Center for 45 minutes clutching a blood soaked paper towel around my finger. Realizing that it was now 12:50PM and that my doctor's office (upstairs in the same building) would be reopening in 10 minutes, I told my wife that I was going upstairs (she was still trying to get me registered). At this point, the blonde said that there was "no problem" and that as long as she had a copy of my Medicare card she could sent it to the billing folks. Remember that it's now been 45 minutes and no one has asked about my injury or if they can do anything to help. We did leave and go upstairs to the doctor's office. Without an appointment, I was still seen within 15 minutes and the nurse immediately replaced the paper towels with a clean bandage until the doctor came in. He looked at my injury and said "wow, you really did a number on that finger". He then cleaned the wound and stitched me up (6 stitches). MORALE of this review - "urgent care" doesn't mean urgent and the blonde at the desk is merely a financial gatekeeper with absolutely no sense of medical urgency. We determined later that she had misread the Medicare # I gave her (I'm right-handed and was trying to write with a smashed right index finger) and she input the birthday into the system incorrectly. I would not recommend this center if you're actually bleeding or in need of any kind of urgent care. read more

We scheduled two sports physicals online at Westar Urgent Care, completed all necessary paperwork online, and showed up early for our appointment. When we arrived, it took twenty minutes for the receptionist working at the desk to check us in. After repeated issues and delays with the computer, she realized that we had not entered our insurance card online (because we were planning to pay the $25 out-of-pocket fee). She told us that insurance cards are required to have the physicals at the $25 price, as physicals are more expensive without insurance. We were shocked, and we wondered how that would be considered equitable-- People working multiple part time jobs with no insurance would have to pay more?! After getting registered, we waited...and waited...and waited. When we inquired at the desk, we were told that there were unexpected situations that were causing delays. Two senior citizens walked in for help and were turned away and told that there was a 2.5 hour wait. Meanwhile, there were people sitting in the room coughing the entire time. When we talked to the woman at the desk, we suggested that if this location is going to take appointments, then there should be a doctor or nurse practitioner on staff to see the people with planned visits. At this point, she told me that things happen, people have to wait, and she didn't want to argue with me. We had another appointment later in the day, so after sitting in that office for an hour and ten minutes, we got a refund and left. This office is like an ugly brown dungeon, and it is totally inefficient. We will not be going there again. read more

Don't even bother. They want you to register online- and it's an extremely difficult, slow process. Cars of people waiting are always present with no one getting called in. Just go to the ER across the street. Don't bother here! read more

I have worked in health care for over 45 years and have been on both sides of that door as patient and caregiver. When I walked in with a allergic reaction and told them I was having trouble breathing, everyone rushes to get me treatment. I have never seen such swift caring service. I felt like I was the only patient there. From Dr Dave to the nurses, respiratory therapist to the clerical staff and everyone else I have forgotten I want to say thank you for saving me and making sure I could breath again. Staff was great. Issue was an inaccurate EKG which sent me to ER (thank goodness I turned down the $2000 1 mile ambulance ride they recommended) where I received another EKG which was perfectly fine. Wasted money.... read more

Went here today for a dog bite and was treated quite well, once I knew what the heck I had to do. I only have one complaint (suggestion): the place didn't look like it was open - we almost went somewhere else. Maybe you could stick a sign in the window facing the parking lot. It was our mistake for not visiting the website ahead of time. We would've known they were open and, additionally, could've had the online check in well under way by the time we arrived. The wait time wasn't bad - it just seems different sitting in the car. I screwed up my phone number on the registration and they came out to my car to rectify it. Very nice! Once I was in the system, a series of texts got the preliminary stuff out of the way. Once in the building, I was taken straight to a room. Everyone was friendly and professional. A final BIG tip of the hat to the provider and nurse, who spent time digging around for some alternate medications to replace the initial option, which was very expensive on my plan. I was able to pick up my meds before the pharmacy closed and saved a ton of cash. Thanks again and stay safe! read more

I have used Westar several times when a member of my family has had to test for COVID. Scheduling online had been easy and efficient and I get right I at the set time. I have never been a walk in, so I can't speak to that process, but I typically will schedule first anyway. Specifically, when I took my daughter, she was really nervous because her only COVID test prior to this had been at Children's with smaller swabs, and she also made a comment about hating to get weighed. The nurse who was taking her vitals took several minutes to talk to her about healthy bodies and self talk. She also took the time to find small swabs and gave the doctor a heads up about her anxiety. He was so kind and patient with her. Later, when I tested positive, they took time to really go over the guidelines with me and scheduled my family's test the recommended 5 days later while I was still there. They made a stressful experience a lot easier. read more

I've never been one to complain about a place, but the receptionist was the rudest. I believe she said her name was "Brianna". I've worked in the medical field as a Medical Assistant and I've never treated a patient so horribly. I was just asking about the wait time and was going to ask about the location, when she hung up the phone on me. She didn't even let me finish or ask about the location. The shocking thing was that I've been into this urgent care several times and I've never been disrespected like I was by her everyone else is a love. Went to Westar Urgent Care on 2 separate occasions and had the best experience. Both times a CNP saw me and they were both named Joyce. They literally saved my life. Had a serious illness both times and was diagnosed correctly. Given the correct medication and the illness went away. Both of them were so caring and knowledge. read more

Had what I considered to be a fairly good urgent care experience here this week when I had to take my daughter in for care. I felt like she received pretty good care from the nurse and nurse practitioner that we saw. We didn't have to wait too long, and they were quickly able to rule out a couple of things. They ended up calling in a prescription for an antibiotic for us, which is really what I believed was all we needed before we went in there. One thing did seem a little odd to me, however. Even though a nurse had told us "a doctor will be in to see you shortly," a doctor never did see my daughter - only a nurse practitioner came by. Based on a web search after the fact, I discovered that in Ohio, a doctor is apparently not required to actually work on site at a medical facility, just be in some kind of contract with and do annual reviews of a nurse practitioner. Or something like that. The nurse practitioner can write some prescriptions. So I'm left suspecting that there was not even a doctor on the premises that evening, which makes me wonder why the nurse said that one would come see my daughter. At any rate, I'll be interested to see our part of the bill when it comes, to see how their services are listed out. It crossed my mind that maybe this is the new way of trying to cut medical costs, but I have my suspicions that this was still a very pricey visit. read more

I visited this urgent care over this past weekend after seeing two other docs the prior week, but still feeling horrible. The staff and the provider (MD) were very responsive and thorough. My wait time was minimal especially since they were very busy. I left there feeling like finally "someone listened to me!" Thank you so much for your thorough evaluation and treatment. My husband had a bad experience here today. He is never sick and doesn't go to the doctor much, so you know he's super sick if he's going to urgent care. The lady at the front desk was very rude and short with him and not helpful at all. We all have many insurance cards, he doesn't know which is which like most people who never use them. He said, "Do you know which one I am supposed to use here?" She said no sternly. He asked how long he would have to wait, she said I don't know very rudely. I'm sorry but if you are going to work somewhere that people are seeking urgent help and don't feel well, have a little bit of bedside manner! My husband is one of the kindest, most respectful person you'll ever meet, he didn't deserve to be treated so rudely. I have been to this urgent care many times but they have lost our business and I will make sure to tell others in the Westerville area. Go to another Urgent Care. They are so afraid to write prescriptions you will still be sick weeks later. I have what seems like strep throat even though the test was negative but I have had it for weeks and have been there twice. I have not received any help from them. By the time you break down an spend $170 to go here, let alone do it twice you are pretty desperate to not be sick any more. They have no concept of what it costs to go there and do not care if you get better or not. read more
