Waited over 45 minutes for a shuttle at Philly Airport at 12:30 AM. This is after I had verified at 3 PM that a shuttle would be there. Absolutely no info was offered; like call the shuttle as soon as you land because it will be another 30 minutes before it shows up. We tried the shuttle - never again - back to driving. read more

I have used Delaware express for airport shuttle service for over twenty years. It used to be very rare to wait for a half hour to be picked up after letting them know you have arrived and have all your baggage. Now, waiting for a half hour or more has become the norm. From the time I had my bags in hand and called them it took an hour to finally be on our way home. I used not to mind paying for the service so I wouldn't have to deal with traffic myself after traveling, but now am starting to reconsider if it is worth the wait. read more

I have now used Delaware Express two times to go to Philadelphia Airport. The vans were on time and the drivers were excellent. They texted me when they were coming to pick me up. At the airport, I had to wait a few minutes for my pickup, but that was totally understandable knowing the problems with parking and pickups there. I will definitely use them again. read more

DE Express is ok. I never really had a problem before this most recent trip, where I waited at the airport for about two hours for the driver to pick me up to take me home. Apparently, there was an accident on the other side of the airport that prevented cars from getting in, and that was the reason for the delay. But in two hours, after several phone calls to DE Express asking where my driver was, no one ever told me that. They just kept telling me the driver was coming. After the 4th call, I was angry enough to ask to speak to a manager. I was unceremoniously dumped into some guy's voicemail, where I left an irate message explaining why I was calling and asked for a callback. That was Friday. On Tuesday, I've yet to receive a return the call. Simple communication and a modicum of follow up from DE Express to let me know WHY the ride was so horribly delayed would have avoided this horrendous experience. Experience over the years has been hit and miss and when it is a miss it has been a big miss. BUT with that said my last 3 trips have been 5 stars all the way. Three superb drivers who could not have made the experience better if they tried. In 2 of the 3 cases we hit major backups on 95 and both times the drivers circumvented the traffic on back streets wit almost zero delay. Kudos to this service. read more

I cannot thank Delaware Express enough for their outstanding service! My wife and I took a long vacation to Europe and stopped in Delaware for a wedding at the end of our trip. Anxious to get home and still somewhat reeling from a very fun wedding, I left the camera with all our vacation pictures inside the shuttle in Philadelphia and realized right before boarding the plane. Nevermind the camera, those pictures were invaluable. After a tense plane ride, we learned that our driver, Ms. Corinne Collins, had stashed the camera at the office and it was under lock and key. Once again Delaware Express can't seem to figure out where to send their driver to pick you up at Philadelphia airport. This is the last time! Waited 35 minutes, the driver went to a different location from where we were directed to wait. Please take my advice don't book with this company. Their shared ride rate is even higher than other private ride. Late and can't make change . I just want them drop me off at a different location and I will pay the difference. But they don't want to. I am the only pick up as well. Because I paid in advance along with good tips and they don't consider make any change for me. I was ended waits half day and waiting for being picked up. They are also late. Please don't make the same mistake as I do. Don't pay advance ever. Just call other service when you needed and you will better rate and more flexibility. I was picked up by Sarah this morning right on time! I was a little stressed out due to my really early flight and wanted to make sure I was on time. She got me to the airport exactly at the time I was hoping to get there! She even went as far as to check my flight number when I got in the car to see where what terminal my flight was out of to make sure I was dropped off at the right terminal and didn't have any issues. Terrible process. Reserved online with all flight arrival info and paid in advance out of convenience. After waiting in the sun and humidity for 25 minutes we placed a call. "They'll be there in 10-15 mins." Nope. Only at a 2nd call did we find that in addition to reservation and prepayment, there's also a check in process required. Suggest Delaware Express study up on how other shuttle services manage to deduce the location of their clients based on flight info, rendering multi points of required communication moot. In the end, a taxi would've been cheaper and significantly faster. I will NOT make reservations with Delaware Express nor their agent, Go Shuttle, in the future. read more

Never again. I was flying in from Florida late in the evening. We touched down at 10:30 gathered my bags and clicked the link to let them know i was ready. 30 minutes later no text telling me when the driver would arrive. So i cslled and the dispatch said go to zone 7. Went to zone 7 and mo driver. She then sends me on a wild goose chase looking for the driver. Finally the driver calls and I'm extremely frustrated and all he wants to do is tell me how it's not his fault. I then said i dont care whose fault it is i just want to go home and he hangs up on me another 30 minutes with the dispatch before they send me back to zone 7 where I started. I have used DE Express Shuttle for years and never had a problem. They do a great job. I've used the shuttle, I've used a private van for a large group and most recently I've started using their Lincoln Towne Car for pick up and drop off. The drivers are friendly, courteous and helpful. The cars are clean. I pay the extra ten bucks to have the driver meet me in the luggage area since my husband is recovering from an accident and the bags are too much for one person. I will admit, I always confirm the day before I leave and the day before I come home. I've never had a problem. They offer a frequent user discount and they are always patient and helpful when I call to confirm. Highly recommend them. read more

Used Delaware Express to travel from PHL to Newark DE. Good price, can pay online, and you just have to call them when you reach Philadelphia airport, and they'll come pick you up. I am docking a star because of this: my drop-off was at a Newark motel, Howard Johnson Inn. While I went inside the motel to confirm my reservation, the driver decided to take my luggage out. There were other people ahead of me in the front desk , so I could not be attended to immediately by the motel staff. I wanted my driver to wait for me, so that he could drive me closer to my room (the motel is pretty big). But he told me since I paid the motel, they'd have my details already, and so I must have a room. What if there was an error and I wasn't registered as a motel guest by some mistake and the driver already took off? Anyway, he removed my 2 luggages (50 lb each) and left. And once I knew where my room was, I had to drag my luggage quite a bit to my room. I suppose that's why you don't pay the driver gratuity online before before being picked up, just like why you don't tip the pizza delivery person online at the time you place your order online. The gratuity was 18% of the $ 45 fare, which makes $ 8.10. I didn't like the driver attitude. But otherwise, I'd recommend Delaware express. Fast shuttle pickup, good fares and so on, and convenient payment online or by phone. read more

Because the reviews here are somewhat mixed, I was a bit wary of booking with Delaware Express Shuttle. I was half expecting a broken down van with a bedraggled driver. What I got instead was a Lincoln Town car and a driver dressed in a shirt and tie and dress pants. He was very polite, very efficient, and very prompt. It was a bit confusing when I arrived at the Phily airport and was told I needed to call them on the courtesy phone. Why? I already had a reservation. Didn't they know my plane had arrived? Anyway, I called, got the pager, and sat down to wait the 20 minutes they said it would take for the car to arrive and checked my phone where there had already been a text message from them, which I had missed, with all the instructions provided. Anyway, the guy got there in about 10 minutes and I had the most pleasant trip into Newark. I hate traveling, especially in and out of airports. The Delaware Express Shuttle service, however, was the best part of my travel plans. They were equally as good on the return from the hotel to the airport. I couldn't have asked for more. They exceeded all my expectations and the price was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

Their service is very unreliable. They are always on time for pick-up when going to PHL but the return is a complete gamble. Expect an hour or so wait time. They won't sent a driver before they have a larger group for the ride and when you call they are using some lame excuses. Things get worse when you are heading towards Newark, DE because you are probably last to be dropped off. You can expect 2-3 hours for the ride from PHL to Newark. In 2 hours you can easily get there by SEPTA for a fraction of the price. That said, if you are lucky you can get PHL-Newark in an hour, however, this is a very rare event. Me and my wife have used them for the past 5 years about 20 times a year and it is getting worse. They are clearly using their monopoly in this area. read more

I am so disappointed by the service I received on the phone with this company just a minute ago. I'm so upset I had to right my review immediately. First off I am in the service business so I know all about customer satisfaction and what I just received in the phone just now was a disgusting. I am currently looking for a company to escort me, my daughter and four other fathers and there daughters to a father and daughter ball this Saturday. I call this company on the phone and the woman who answered the phone acted like she hates her job. I asked her how much is it for service from Bear to the Riverfront, she rudely says its 131 we are not a taxi service. I said no I'm calling for a limo how much for the limos. She says how many people I say 10, she says well our limos holds 8 people I said that's okay she told me no you have to get a 15 passenger party bus I said no I would like a limo for the 8 people please. With a attitude she says make up your mind do you have 10 people or 8 people?? I said you know what I can't do Buisness with people who have attitudes like this. She said whatever who cares. Wow. I can't believe they have people answering there phones like this for there Buisness. I would not recommend a company who doesn't listen or care about the clients needs nor says they don't care if they get Buisness. Beware of this company. I will never ever use them for anything. Always ask for a pickup time 30 minutes earlier than you think you need. Drivers are usually late and unless you happen to get a private car, it will take almosr an hour to pick up multiple riders and the drivers often do not know where they are going, so you WILL be later than is comfortable getting to the airport. read more

The drivers are great and personable and the vehicles clean and well maintained. The only reason I didn't give five stars is due to the only rude person I encountered in the company. When I asked the representative for information she was extremely rude and I eventually hung up and called back. On my second call I received the information I needed. During a recent trip to PHL, we decided to try Delaware Express to take us to Hockessin. Our experience both ways was great. At the PHL Airport, you go to the counter, speak to the desk guy, and he gives you a number. He calls the van. You then wait for your number to be called, step outside, and get in your van. Now, one recommendation is to have seating benches or chairs for those unable to stand for periods of time, the elderly, disabled. Outside seating in the wintertime does not work. We shared a van both going and coming with others, and your order of drop-off depends on the route. The vans were clean, comfortable. The drivers were courteous and knowledgeable about the area. Our house pick-up for return to the airport was on time. We had to reschedule with short 2-hour notice for the return due to the snow storms in ATL. I called the dispatcher, and she couldn't have been nicer or friendlier. I think for the price and convenience, Delaware Express is great. A tip is always appreciated. Pay it forward. read more

This was my first NYC bus trip on Delaware Express. We made plans to see a Broadway Show. The day of the trip went very well. We had a great host, Jerry, and an excellent driver, Ralph.The bus drops off and picks up at an area very convenient to Times Square -- a little off the beaten path and with clean restrooms! The reason I didn't give this 5 stars was that there were some issues with the new ticketing system that caused concern and a little confusion. Hopefully those things have been ironed out. Bought tickets for a bus trip; Day on your Own in New York for my daughter and myself. It was a great value for a trip to NYC! We live in NJ but close to Newark so this was a fantastic alternative to driving to Philly or northern NJ then taking the train. We didn't have to worry about parking or navigating traffic. The lot on Ogletown Road in Newark is just outside of a residential neighborhood and felt very safe. The bus was comfortable (a little dirty, but not terribly), had a clean bathroom, and WiFi, but no power outlets for phone charging. A movie (Singin in the Rain) was played on the ride home. The driver and "host" were helpful with directions and suggestions for navigating the city and letting us know about small events in the area (49th&9th). The crowd on the bus was mostly families and retirees, a really nice group. The bus left on time, and instructions for where to find it and boarding times were perfectly clear. I would have given 5 stars except for one detail that I hope they can improve: The times for the trip were not posted on the website, forcing you to call the office, then go back and make the purchase online. The young man providing the information didn't sound terribly confident about the information he was providing, which made it a little hard to create an itinerary for ourselves. An email was provided about a week before the trip that clearly identified times and boarding location, but it would have been great to have this info up front. On this particular day the bus boarded at 8, departed at 8:30 and arrived in NYC before noon. We boarded again at 6pm and left promptly at 6:15 arriving home before 9pm. Just enough time for lunch, a 2pm matinee, and getting autographs at the stage door afterwards. You can eat on the bus and leave things on the bus (jackets, coolers, etc.) but you can't access the bus during the day. We will definitely do this again and hope they offer more trips like this. Horrible is that only thing I can say! I've used Delaware Express in the past--never had a problem, but apparently something has changed. I made a reservation for Sunday evening 12/13. Called when I got my luggage and waited for at least 45 minutes (I stopped timing after that, but I think my wait was closer to an hour.) I live 45 minutes from the airport! After the driver came, I was informed that I'd be dropped off last. Then, he took the longest way he possibly could to get to Pike Creek from Route 202. He said the company tells them they should take highways, not side roads, to get to their destinations. I think my driver was uncomfortable with me because I did not utter a word until I was the only one left in the SUV. Then, I told him I was very unhappy with the service. I told him I didn't want him taking highways to get to my house because that would add an extra 30 minutes to my ride. It took 3 hours for a 45 minute trip. I will never use Delaware Express again! I suspect the dispatcher kept me waiting so that I wasn't the only one in the SUV. I think the dispatcher wanted to fill up the SUV so I had to wait an hour for other people to land. No more DE Express for me!!!! read more

We've taken two trips with Delaware Express, Cape Cod and recently New Hampshire and Vermont. They are the best reasonably priced tour group. The buses are comfortable and the driver Jim is careful yet handles the bus as it it was a car getting into and out of places that I thought was impossible. On both trips we had Gerry as the host on the bus and he is loaded with funny stories, keeps you well fed with snacks and has the bus stocked with water, soda, beer and wine. No alcohol served during the return trip which I thought was great,matter all we all had to drive once we got off the bus. Over nights are spent in 3-4 star hotels which are always clean and comfortable. Looking forward to our next trip with Delaware Express and hoping Jim is driving and Gerry is the host. read more

Unreliable service. They do not drop you off at your terminal. Driver pulled over and emptied van and told customers to walk to their terminal. On my return trip I was sent a text stating that the van was waiting outside. Text contained driver name, type of vehicle, and license plate number. There was no such vehicle and I called dispatch and was told they did not have my reservation. I informed them they had charged my credit card and sent a text about a vehicle that did exist. A different van was sent to the airport. Other customers in the van had a similar experience. Plan to wait a long time for your ride home. read more

My mother and I just returned from a 2-week vacation to Europe, and Delaware Express drove us home (about 1 hour distance) from PHL airport. The airport dispatch guy was very rude, but our experience with Delaware Express was great. The driver helped us with our giant suitcases and my mom's walker, and helped her into the car. Despite really bad traffic on I-95 and rain, the driver found a detour, dropped off the one other passenger in the van, and drove us home in a safe and courteous manner. He really knew the area, despite it being far from the airport. When we arrived to the house, he helped with our luggage, taking it all the way into the house for us and being sure that we got inside safely. Compared to other shuttle companies I've used in other cities, this was a treat. I plan to use them again for my next trip. read more

I was really disappointed with the return service to take me home. I waited over an hour for a driver to take me home. I received a text message a couple times saying that my driver was there to take me. Yet there was no one. Then another driver showed up, but wasn't going my direction to take me. They did not give clear instructions on what to do when your plane arrives. When I tried to reach them by phone, to find out what was going on, I got no reply. Very disappointing. Delaware Express (you've got to be kidding!) was almost an hour late picking up my kid at UDEL for the flight home for Thanksgiving. She ended up missing the flight by eight minutes. We called to find out where the limo was during the wait and got an abrasive response to our concerns.
