We enjoyed a Holiday day trip to NY City on Dec 27, 2025. Our bus driver, George, communicated clearly with us, and was very personable and caring for his passengers. He took the time to give us his cell number in case we needed to call him for pick up locations, etc. in case we forgot. The weather at one point was a little challenging but George took his time and we were all very confident. The bus itself was modern and up-to-date, and we were able to leave any necessities on the bus for our return once we were dropped off. It was a great experience. read more

We've been using DE EX for years & what we've seen happen is their customer service, customer safety have gone to the way side. The past several times, we got very questionable drivers, sometimes we feared for our safety & our lives. We've contacted & passed our concerns to company, only to get a passive, unexceptionable response. We would NOT recommend this shuttle service! read more

Me, my wife, and a friend had a horrible experience on Saturday at the hands of Delaware Express. We had reserved a bus trip to NYC that was to leave from Christiana Hospital at 8 a.m. The bus arrived with a flat tire and there we sat loaded on the bus waiting for another bus to come for us or for a repair service to change the tire. At 9:10 a.m. I bailed out and am hoping to obtain a refund. My wife and her friend stuck it out and finally got on the road around 10 a.m. (2 hours late). The replacement bus was awful, there were no seatbelts, many of the seats were stuck reclined or could not be reclined, the light in the bathroom did not work and the cell phone charging ports did not work. The first bus was also old and was is disrepair; there were no charging ports and the toilet would not flush, good thing that bus was not used after all. Two years ago my Wife and this same friend took a Delaware Express bus trip to NYC with the Newark Senior Center. That bus broke down just prior to the return trip and Delaware Express did not send a replacement, therefore 40 some seniors were left stranded in NYC. The stranded passengers had to either find accomodations in NYC that night or find another way home. Fortunately my wife, her friend and two others hired a limo at exorbitant cost and got home around 4 a.m. the next day. The bottom line is: Delaware Express is a horrible company that obviously does not maintain their aging bus fleet, and does not care about customer service. I warn everyone to never hire this company for any transportation needs. read more

I have used this service in the past and was satisfied. Last Thursday I scheduled a pick up at Newark Airport with a town car for transport to my home in Wilmington. Instead of a car, the driver had a 15 passenger vehicle. I had to hunt for a seat with a usable seat belt and we had to drive around the parking lot in search of an appropriate sized gate to exit. The ride was terribly noisy and uncomfortable and expensive at $342.00. I called the next day to make my complaint that I had not received what I had contracted for. The company has chosen to ignore my request for some sort of compensation for their not providing what I had paid for. My advice is buyer beware. read more

Reserved a town car and got a van that looked like it was a delivery van. It was noisy, uncomfortable, cold, and in general a piece of crap. Would NEVER use this company again. In addition, they were late picking us up on our return forcing us to wait in the cold with my 90 year old mother. I requested money back due to the fact we didn't get the vehicle that was reserved but got no response and no answers no matter how many times I called. read more

I've used this company for many many years now and they used to be a really good airport shuttle service to use. It seems after the Covid situation they went down hill. They are very short with drivers and was picking other passengers with my solo trip, and made both of us pay full fair for dedicated service. You can never make appointments online anymore, and even if you call in a week in advance your chances of getting a car is slim. I called in to make a reservation for this trip and the price jumped up to over $300, which normally costed me $151. So now I'm using Corporate Sedans out of Philly which has been really good so far. Horrible, awful service! 2 times a no-show for airport pick-up. Worst no service EVER!!

I utilized this service for a quick, 24 hour trip from PHL to Newark, DE and back again. Relatively easy to use and nice drivers! The service was booked for me, so I didn't realize when I arrived at PHL I had to use a special transportation phone in the baggage claim area to actually get picked up. I had gone straight outside which cost me a bit of time in getting to my hotel and settled for the evening. Once inside, the process was relatively simple. You called the Delaware Express from a designated phone at the Transportation desk, an airport employee gave you a ticket and then would call your ticket number when it was time to be picked up. This seemed consistent across all the transportation companies, so be aware of this should you use any ground transport! In both my trip from the airport and back, I only had to share a vehicle with one other person. Both times there was also bottled water provided. The type of vehicle also seems to vary- I was picked up in a town car from the airport and a minivan for my return trip. I can't speak to the price definitively, but I think this service is a bit pricier than similar services i have used before. read more

The service has always been prompt, on-time, courteous and helpful drivers with road and interstate knowledge that they put to good use. We'll continue to use the service for trips to/from PHL and NY airports. I did call the office to ask for clarification on shipping, they confirmed tips are included in the pricing. Went back to the well recently, figured umpteenth time would be the charm. Not so much. Seems like a lot has changed/is changing regarding how they do things like pickups. I don't know but again, delays, customer service people who seem to not be ' in the know' about their own reservations. They never answer their phones and the on line booking system never seems to work. To say they are hit or miss is accurate. I have used this company for the past 30 years and in the last 5 years they have gone down hill significantly. I use them as a last resort only and that is if they have a car available, which they do not always have. The drivers have been good. It's the booking and office staff that needs improvement. read more

Contracted for service to and from airport. Pick up was awesome, on time, quick commute, friendly driver. Return was horrible. Confirmed with dispatcher that flight was delayed. No problem, we track flights and will know when you're flight arrives. Car will be there waiting for you. Confirmed again via email during layover. Yes, we will be there. Your driver will send you a text. Arrive and no driver, no text. Call dispatcher and told that it didn't get on the schedule....after I confirmed at least three times! Driver arrives 25 minutes later, now 45 minutes after the scheduled pick up time. One hour later after I'm home I get a text indicating the driver's location at the airport. I requested through the dispatcher a return call from the manager the same day. Nothing. Sent letter requesting refund of money. No response. I would not suggest the use of Delaware Express as a shuttle to the airport based on my experience. read more

Stay far away from these guys. I had a reservation for them to pick me up from PHL last month to bring me to my home in Middletown, Delaware. Due to a flight cancellation my travel plans changed and I was to come into BWI. I called Delaware Express to notify them of the change and a very nice representative not only changed my car reservation to pick me up in Baltimore for the new flight, but also sent me a written confirmation of the change. All seemed well and that evening I took my flight to BWI. Upon arrival at BWI I followed the instructions on my updated confirmation and called the dispatcher to alert them to my arrival. The dispatcher tells me it will be three hours before the car can pick me up. 3 hours. It's now 8pm (my scheduled arrival time) and I have to wait another 3 hours for the car I had a written reservation to pick me up at arrival. Not good. The dispatcher isn't the least bit interested in my troubles. But as it was now almost 8:30 pm, there was no way I was going to wait 3 hours to be picked up after being in meetings all day and then a flight for 2 hours. I considered a rental car but returning it in Middletown would be a challenge and it was cost prohibitive. My only other option was Uber. Middletown, DE is not exactly close to BWI. Have you ever tried to get an uber to take you from BWI to Central Delaware? Of course you haven't. Because it's a ridiculous thing to do. No drivers wanted to accept the trip. The fare was $120+ but they didn't want to drive so far with a guarantee of a long drive back with no customer/fare. After an hour of trying I finally found an uber driver willing to make the trip. I called the dispatcher back to let him know I wasn't waiting for their car. He let me know it hadn't even left yet anyway (at 9pm). So this tells me they were never planning to pick me up at all. I registered my displeasure and he promised me someone from management would call me in the morning. $150 later (including a tip for the driver who took pity on me) I finally made it home at midnight. I landed at BWI at 7:30 pm for the record. The next day I received no call from Delaware Express. Finally in the late afternoon I called them and was connected to the 'Operations Manager'. To say he was unapologetic is an understatement. He blamed me for the entire incident - apparently I shouldn't have changed the original reservation and the confirmation of the change that his staff had emailed me was inconsequential. He laughed at me when I told him of my struggles hailing an uber. He found the entire situation much funnier than I did. Only when I mentioned that I worked for a very large firm in Philadelphia did he begrudgingly agree to 'look into' a refund. I also told him that he could either cancel my future reservations or agree to comp the next trip. He agreed to the comp (not sure why I put myself in a position for more abuse) and told me I'd hear back from him early the next week. As you can probably guess, I never heard back from the 'operations manager' or anyone else at Delaware Express. I disputed the charge with American Express. As you can imagine, I was pretty frustrated by now that I never heard back from Delaware Express, so I opened a Better Business Bureau case. Only then did I receive any response from them, They responded they were still 'working on' a refund and that I would receive my next airport trip free. I did get my money back soon after but not due to any action of Delaware Express, American Express refunded it as a result of my dispute. Fast forward to this week. I flew into PHL and used my 'free' ride to get back home. Can you guess what happened next? They charged me for the ride. Unreal. Currently opening my second American Express dispute. Use anyone else for your transportation needs in Delaware. Customer service is a foreign concept to this company. read more

Last week, a family emergency arose and I needed a ride to PHL. I called Delaware Express at 8:00 am on a Saturday morning and was greeted by Donna. She was able to arrange for a van to pick me up 3 hours later and get me to my flight on time. My driver was Jaffery. Coming home 5 days later, I was picked up at PHL by Terrence. I have never met a more professional and caring group of people. I can't recommend Delaware Express highly enough. They will always be my go to for rides where ever I have to go. They are as good as it gets. read more

Would give 0 stars if that were possible. This company is clearly very hit or miss: my trip in August was great, but my daughter's experience just before Thanksgiving was horrible. The driver was an hour late picking her up on one of the busiest travel days of the year. As a result, she missed her flight out of Philadelphia, and it was the last flight to Los Angeles that evening. I called and sent an email, and no one has responded. Getting to PHL from Newark DE was pretty painless- driver arrived early and it was a pleasant ride. Unfortunately going back home was a little more work. I had never gotten the confirmation email with all the directions so when I arrived I had to call DE express to help me out. I had a grounds transportation ticket and the DE express (should've) dispatched my driver. After waiting for 40 minutes the guy manning the ground transportation desk recommended I call again. When I called, it seemed like no one actually dispatched anyone previously. Guess it was just frustrating to not have the directions email that people kept referencing. Once everything was set up, it took less than 20 minutes to be picked up. The drivers in both directions were very nice and professional. read more

Would give this a 0 if I could. I landed at 5:05 and it is now 7:05. They told me 2x 10 minutes. Finally after 1 hr they told me it would be 30 minutes (and it was actually another 55 minutes). Then the driver had the gall to yell at me when I questioned how it could take three hrs to get from Dulles to bwi. What I think is they had a drop at Dulles at a Certain time and just didn't give a crap that they'd be late picking me up. read more

I've been a loyal DE Express user for years. Every business trip. Every family trip. Every time I flew out of PHL I would use DE Express. Today I called b/c my flights are delayed. Very delayed. I'm spending an entire day in MSY & rather arriving home @ 5:00 p.m., I'm in at 1:30 a.m. We called to update our arrangements & were informed that 1:30 a.m. is peak time & we would have to pay a premium. I'm trapped for this run b/c there are no other options, but I am not using Delaware Express again. Period. Gauging someone who is in a bad spot is a horrendous business practice. read more

Delaware Express had asked me to give them a second chance and gave me an incentive so I did. Since my last horrible experience they have definitely stepped up their game a bit. My town cars picking me up from the airport have been there fairly quick, and have had no issues at all. I have taken a shared ride a couple times as well with zero issues. I decided that since they have done a lot better in the dozen or so times I have used them since the previous review I would give them an updated review. Perhaps it was just a fluke the one time, I'm not sure. Like I said though they have been on time, fast, and very friendly as well. read more

The MIL lives 45 minutes from the Philly Airport. In the past, the family picked us up or we rented a car, which is not feasible now a days. I found Delaware Express online and filled out the form for a round trip delivery service. I was nervous about doing this online with a place that had not been reviewed but figured to chance it because a private car with Delaware Express is cheaper than a cab. It was raining cats and dogs when we arrived, our plane had done my favorite circle Philly for an hour; I had no idea what to expect when we got our luggage. I checked in at a central desk and was handed one of those things that vibrate when your table is ready. When ours vibrated, our car was ready. A darling gentleman dressed in tweeds appeared at the door, grabbed my bags, and led us to a stretch limo. (I freaked for a moment because I did not think I had paid for a limo. It was the luck of the draw as far as the car was concerned.) We arrived to the MIL's door relaxed and stress free as we did not have to drive in 5:00 traffic in the rain. We returned to the airport in a town car with a nice young man who chatted about cheese steaks, biology, and Philly. He showed us where to get the best cheese steak next time we are in town. DE Express is highly recommended as they have courteous, well dressed staff, clean cars, are prompt, and very reasonable. read more

After realizing that my flight was scheduled to arrive at ILG after the last train to Philly for the night, I quickly went online to look for another way to get home. I found Delaware Express Shuttle and for $45.60 + tax and tip, I was able to get back to my apartment in Philly with no problems. I made the reservation the night before my flight and was promptly sent easy instructions and a confirmation number. Once my plane touched down, I turned on my phone and found a text message waiting for me from the service with a link to notify the driver. I clicked on it and within a couple of minutes received a call from the driver telling me he was curbside. I hadn't even gotten off the plane yet. I was picked up in a clean and comfortable black sedan by a driver named Adam. He was very friendly, offered me water, and we had a pleasant chat on the drive home. Within 45 minutes, he dropped me off at my doorstep in Center City. I highly recommend this service. I know some of the reviews are mixed, and I'm not sure why that is, but my experience was stellar. I'll definitely be using them again in the future. read more

It is truly hit or mess with them. Some days, you get 5 star service others days it is deplorable. After my last review, the owner contacted me and said she would upgrade me to VIP status. I seriously doubt that because I still get sucky service. After traveling and being away from family, the last thing you want to do is wait 50 minutes for a driver. My flight was on time. I am at a loss. I called dispatch. I was told Matt was pulling up. Hung up the phone and received a text message stating the same. 8 minutes later no Matt. Then I get another text that says Jeff is the driver. I call back and get the same answer. I stay on the phone for 4 minutes because he's not pulling up. Needless to say I could have been home. I hate being lied to...obviously Matt was not on his way. Last week, I had another driver tell me I should put cross streets in my reservation because she couldn't find my house. GPS anyone? There is nothing worse than starting your day with someone telling you what you "need to do." Not to mention she's picked me up before. Make cross streets a requirement if your drivers need them to navigate. P.S. I always tip 20% at least. read more

I had a reservation for a pickup at Philadelphia Airport on Tuesday December 3. After getting my luggage, I contacted Delaware Express to confirm I was ready for pickup. I was instructed a driver was to arrive in 15 - 20 minutes and a text would be sent when he arrived. I waited 35 minutes. I called the office and was told it would be at least another hour to an hour and a half before driver arrived due to no drivers currently available. I asked what I was to do in the meantime. I was told I could wait for the driver. I asked if Delaware Express would pay for a cab ride. The message I received was: no reimbursement for cab ride, the original charge would be removed from my credit card but I would get some additional "frequent rider points". Oh boy!! I understand situations will arise where drivers/vehicles may be limited due to circumstances beyond their control. However, I should have been told right away that there was a driver shortage and given the option to wait or seek alternate transportation. Unfortunately that did not happen. Their service used to be good. But has been steadily declining over the past 5 years. As a result, I will not be using their shuttle service in the future. read more

This has to be the sorriest car service ever. Originally was suppose to arrive PHL 11:43, but when AA changed the arrival time to 11:23. I informed Delaware Express and was told my reservation time has been changed. Well, it wasn't. Long story short, I had to wait over an hour in the hot sun for the car to arrive. I called several times and was told the driver was on his way. I had requested a town car and guess what, it was an SUV. The only good thing about the entire ordeal was that the driver Ronnie was very nice, very courteous and apologetic. read more

With an elderly parent living in Kennett Square PA and having a far-flung, out-of-state domicile, I regularly travel into PHL and need transit to and from the off-the-beaten-track hinterlands. For the past couple of years, Delaware Express's shared-ride service has provided this for me and has made the travel so much easier. The online reservation system is a breeze; I can arrange and pay for the round trip (including gratuity) well in advance and with ease, thus not having to worry about having the right cash on hand for fare or tip mid-trip. Their drivers have consistently been punctual, courteous, and friendly, even on holidays or when the roads were snowy or congested. And the cars have always been roomy, comfortable, and clean. Now and then they've even driven me solo in town cars instead of the expected shared-ride minivans, making the experience all the more comfortable. With the changed plans that inevitably come with long-distance travel, they've been accommodating across the board: When I needed to change my reservations at the last minute due to weather-related flight delays, they did so with no questions asked; they regularly track flight delays and meet me at the airport whenever the flights actually come in; and the one time I misunderstood the PHL pickup procedure and left them waiting for me for 45 min by mistake, they were apologetic and the driver even offered to buy me coffee to compensate for the confusion. All in all, they have helped make long-distance travel much less onerous--a great value for the money. read more

I originally contracted with Del Express for our wedding shuttle for a January 2021 wedding which was easy and straightforward and our contact was very consultative outlining how many trips could reasonably take place based on the ceremony and hotel locations. It really helped me see the logistics. With the pandemic, we weren't able to host our wedding as planned and they were extremely easy to work with and happily adjusted our reservation to a smaller vehicle that accommodated the smaller celebration we needed. When the day came, the driver was early and had thoroughly vetted the route between all the locations ( we had a 3 stop loop). He was very nice and accommodating and even made extra trips because we left things at the hotel and had to go back. I would definitely recommend working with them for event transportation and we will definitely be contracting with them for the big celebration next year. read more

I used the shuttle service to get to and from Philadelphia Airport on my last trip. They were really great. At the airport, I didn't have to wait long and the driver was friendly and knowledgeable. On the trip back to the airport, the pickup was right on time, and I got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The process of making reservations was easy and I liked being able to leave a tip in advance with the credit car. Great service. read more

It was disappointing. One driver overshared about his ex-wife and his life with her. Plus I had to listen to some weird talk radio show. But, he was on time and communicative. The driver on my return was terrible. He was condescending and unhelpful. The first passenger he let off told him which house it was and he stopped two houses back. The passenger muttered that it was close enough. The next one told him exactly how to get there, but the driver only heard the word hotel and pulled up there. The passenger spoke up and said that this wasn't her apartment. The driver seemed surprised even though she told him exactly where to go. When I offered feedback to the driver, he said he always tries to be helpful. I shared my situation and he actually laughed. What a jerk! The service has gone so far downhill. It used to be a decent service and convenient. Now, it's just sad. read more

Because of Covid-19, our trip to NYC and tickets to a Broadway show were cancelled. DE Express promptly refunded our tickets. Last week we got an email about their new service to pick up your car and do a wash and detailing. We thought this was a very creative way for them to continue their business and we wanted to support them. I bought the full service as a birthday present for my husband. He was very pleased with the results, especially the trunk was was very dirty from hauling landscape materials. We also really appreciated that DE Express is donating a free wash to health care workers for every full service. Please support this effort! read more

My daughter and I booked a car with Delaware Express and had a wonderful experience! Rich our driver was phenomenal. He was very professional yet engaging. We have used Delaware Express many times and have always been safe and on time getting to the airport. So we were not worried about arriving in a timely manner, without incident....which was exactly what happened. Rich was as expected....a great navigator and he happily shared some of his own travel adventures with us. We were heading for JFK for a flight to England and when I informed Rich that I'd be driving while in Europe, he told me to be sure that my car rental was for an automatic car. I quickly checked my rental confirmation and found out that I had in fact rented a manual car. Thanks to Rich, I was able to call my car rental company and change the car to automatic before boarding the plane! Another great experience with Delaware Express!! I had the car pick my up to take to the airport for a flight out and the driver did come picked me up early, which was very nice to due to that we did run into traffic on our way. He did get me to the airport in plenty of time, when i got into the car the floor that leafs on the side of the car, which i think should have been cleaned out, but the rest of the car was clear and the driver was nice. Now when I came back home was a different story, My flight got in at 5:58 PM, so I get text from the company to tell me when I get my bag to hit this link to find out where the driver was going to be, So I click on the like and it get the message saying GPS signal is lost, Vehicle location is not available so now I'm thinking how do I find my driver, So I called and got the dispatcher and he called me back to say the drive was 10 mins away, so after 15 mins I called back again to say the diver is still not there, was told she is on her way as I'm standing outside waiting and need to say I was not very happy at all. Then the driver calls me to say should it stuck in traffic trying to get into the airport. So at 7:01pm the driver then shows up, now I must say the driver Kathy was very nice and said she was sorry. what happen to the day when why came into the airport to meet you. read more

Tywanna apologized, I said it's fine, just cancel my roundtrip and refund my payment. [I also asked her to email me that she would provide a full refund, which she later did] #5 Tywanna agreed #6 Bob Syme emailed me, apologized and told me I will receive a refund and a credit for one one-way ride. #7 I never recevied either. #8 I emailed them about 2 weeks after my initial shuttle date. Ok, I am a frequent long haul traveler, so I fly out of EWR and JFK. I don't mind paying the fee+built in tip, but could they supply drivers that know the route, the airport and are ON TIME?? They are RARELY waiting with a sign, and after 14-20 hours of traveling I would like to walk off the plane and walk into the car. I have global entry to speed me through customs, but it doesn't matter. Typical wait for me is 30-60+ minutes, but they want to charge if the flight is late. Customer service ignores these complaints as well. Does anyone have an alternative from Chadds Ford area? A private driver perhaps? read more

I have now used Delaware Express two times to go to Philadelphia Airport. The vans were on time and the drivers were excellent. They texted me when they were coming to pick me up. At the airport, I had to wait a few minutes for my pickup, but that was totally understandable knowing the problems with parking and pickups there. I will definitely use them again. read more
