Dela Fry
Emma H.

The food and service justify the top ratings Dela has received. We were seated quickly for brunch (on a weekday, no reservation). The menu is broad and has a mix of local, traditional and innovative items to choose from. The Dela Fry was very good, with both black and white pudding, and the Brunch Burrito was tasty. Please note that portions are HUGE, so you might consider sharing one entree between two people. The house made relish was a stand-out.

Amazing seasonal food. While they may have a 10-20 min wait, their pancakes alone are worth it. I even bought a pack. They sell some jam or topping too but we didn't think it'd travel well. I do forewarn people to be patient. They did mention being understaffed but they all work so hard.

We were looking for a good place for brunch and this place top the list. We were not disappointed! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was cozy but clean. The food was fresh and most of it came from the butcher across the street. I would highly recommend.

Fried Chicken Benny

Fun atmosphere; lively and vibrant, and the food was fantastic. We came for brunch which I highly recommend when you get tired of pub fare. I ordered the brunch burrito with bacon, my husband got the fried chicken Benny. Both dishes were delicious, definitely ask for the homemade hot sauce (it isn't that hot actually but has a very good almost sweet chili flavor). The only thing I would say that disappointed me was the amount of potato in the burrito, I'd have liked more egg actually but it was still very good. Highly recommend coming here!

Steamed Galway Bay Seafoods Mussels & Clams Tomato & Lardons Broth (€12) with side salad

Warm, dim setting with quality food. I'm not a huge mussels/clam girl but tried the Steamed Galway Bay Seafoods Mussels & Clams Tomato & Lardons Broth (€12). The appetizer came with about 20-30 mussels and clams, and the tomato broth drew away from the fishiness. (8/10). We also tried the Grilled Galway Bay Seafoods Mackerel Fillet, Sautéed Pak Choi, Pickled Kohiraba, and Asian Dressing (€10). This appetizer surprised me! The fish had a nice crispy layer on top, with this sweet Asian glaze. Pickled turnip was a nice touch, and the bok Choi was cooked well. (8.3/10) Nice spot to dine in and share yummy appetizers with friends

Perfect brunch or date spot in Galway if you are looking for fresh and perfectly cooked food. How does one make a breakfast sausage so delicious? I can't stop thinking about it. Certainly the best Irish breakfast I've had in Ireland. The Dela Fry is a must - crispy potatoes, perfect bacon, tasty black sausage, and an addicting salsa. So good and not greasy like others I've had. Did I mention the sausage? I also had a bite of the pancakes and they are the lightest pancakes you'll ever have. So so good. I just wish I got their coffee as well because they roast their beans. The service was excellent and it was absolutely gorgeous inside. It felt so cozy and welcoming. We were able to get a table for 6 and a baby without a reservation for Friday lunch. Not the best place for kids but they brought us a high chair and we were able to make it work. Worth a visit!

Popped into Dela Cafe on my last morning in Galway. I wanted a cute spot with wifi so I could get some work done as well as a hearty breakfast & coffee. I was not disappointed. The waitress was a doll and helped me pick out my entree and ensured I was caffeinated. The eggs Benedict with Irish bacon cured my hunger! Very cozy yet refreshing inside with all of the flowers around. Their drink menu looked very tempting.

IMMA say this was one of the best restaurants during our tour of Ireland and the United Kingdom. All of the ingredients were fresh, the flavor was amazing, and the staff was very attentive and welcoming. We have plenty of good food during this trip and this ranked at the top of the list. They should be very proud of what they're doing, and this reminds me of something back home in Portland. But it seems in Europe they take great pride in the quality of the food, how organic it is, as well as how it satisfies the customer. Some of this food was also grown in their own farm so I guess you could consider it farm to table. I would definitely return and I'm looking forward to coming back and visiting again. Don't miss out on this hidden gem.

The chicken Benedict. WOW! loved it so much we came back the next day to have it again. The cappuccinos here are also fantastic!

This was a really great place to have breakfast while visiting Galway. The food was excellent and thoughtfully made and plated. The coffee was great. But as well the atmosphere and the service was lively! Such kind people. Included a picture of the breakfast board in the middle of it being devoured by myself and my baby - we loved it so much we could hardly stop eating to get a photo! Oh! And they are taking nice COVID precautions as well :)

Perfect brunch spot! Dela had great reviews so was excited to try their food. We just got in from Cliffs of Moher and we're starving. My husband got the burrito without the jalapeños and added bacon. The burrito was delicious and a very good size. I got the butterscotch walnut pancakes and they were delicious. Definitely on the sweet side if you like sweet pancakes. The restaurant was very cozy inside and ambiance was perfect. Service was nice and friendly.

breakfast platter. you can taste the kindness, thoughtfulness & wholesomeness.

The space itself is small and cozy, with just a handful of tables and a private room, which gives it that intimate, tucked‑away feel. I'd 100% go back. They offer two specialty cocktails and a wine list, and while the cocktail selection is limited, the wines are unique and fantastic -- definitely worth exploring. The food was outstanding across the board. The monkfish scampi isn't what you might picture, but it's fantastic -- super crispy and full of flavor. And you have to get the bread: tomato focaccia or brown bread, then topped with the fennel, thyme, and maple butter were all unforgettable. The bavette steak was delicious, and the mashed potatoes were truly out of this world. The sea trout was incredibly fresh; just a heads‑up that the gremolata is spread over the whole dish, so it ends up almost poached in olive oil -- worth noting for anyone sensitive to that, but the flavor itself was excellent. Definitely end the night with the affogato and the shortbread cookies (chef's kiss). Who doesn't like to dunk their dessert? Highly recommend, would absolutely come back.

The salad was spectacularly tasteful and fresh. I felt like the deer was a little too salty for my taste, but presentation was good. I was disappointed by the dessert. My ice cream was partially melted and the peaches were cold. I would give the environment/ambiance 5/5, service 5/5 and food 3.5/5. Overall 4/5.

I loved the outdoor seating that allows you to take in the air, the narrow streetways, the buildings that have stood here for centuries. While we could only do outdoor seating at the time due to the COVID-19 lockdown measures, this turned out to be quite the good fortune. Where we sat was a nice spot to see the various people walking down the street, engage in conversation, all the while enjoying a cafe Americano and some tasty baked goods like brownies and shortbread with chocolate on top. If you know where to walk from the Eyre Square, it's a great find, moderately priced, and very tasty eats. Hopefully, the next time I can have some of the hot dishes they also offer when we return to Galway.

The staff were nice and the place was very comfortable. Highly recommend!

The inside is beautiful - like a converted greenhouse/cottage with stone walls and lots of natural light. One of the first things I noticed was the pastry counter. It was absolutely stunning with gorgeous cakes and other sweet treats available by the slice. The menu is written on a large chalkboard at the far end of the cafe, which can be hard to read depending on where you're seated. I asked for the staff's recommendation and she said I should try the fried fish. It came served with slaw, salad, brown soda bread, beautiful yellow butter and the most perfect fried pieces of cod I think I've ever had. This was not your typical "fish and chips" style fish but instead, was seasoned to perfection with a bit of a crunchier, thicker batter. Wow, it was incredible. I was also so grateful for the side of slaw and salad as I think that was the first leafy green I had had in over a week since arriving in Ireland. The latte I ordered was also delicious and well made. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout my visit - all working together to efficiently service the lunch rush. I would totally come back here next time I'm in Galway. It is highly recommended for good reason so go see for yourself!

We had to wait a couple of minutes for our table then were seated. Prior to coming to Cava Bodega, I had tried some tapas but not much so I wasn't sure what to expect. To start, my friend and I got a glass of wine then ordered food. For dinner, we ordered the anchovies with piquilla pepper, patatas bravas, and paella marinera. I had never tried anchovies so I was admittedly nervous but the dish was sooo good. Patatas bravas is a dish I've tried before but I really liked Cava's version. This was also my first time trying paella and it was delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and had a great combination of flavors. For dessert, my friend and I ordered the churros. Can never go wrong with this sugary cinnamon delight and we were definitely happy! Overall, I had a great time at Cava and it was the perfect birthday celebration. If you want to give it a try, definitely go for it!

They have great, efficient customer service with good price points. If you happen to find yourself tired of bangers and mash or fish and chips, some Spanish tapas are a good recommendation for something different while in Galway, Ireland.
