Underrated!!! This place is actually good, reasonable price and filling. Give it a try. Wish there was one closer to home.

My two hour workout probably didn't make much of a dent in the decadence of this meal, but it was…read moreworth it! I came down here because I have a friend from up north who's come down here a few times and suggested this place. He said it's one of his favorite places when he's in town, so that's saying a lot if it's a top place for him and the family. He was right. This was a juicy and incredibly tasty burger. I'd say it's up there with Amboy in Chinatown (Los Angeles) or the newer Amboy spot at Haven City Marketplace in Covina. This place is a gem. Ordering can be a little misleading; hence minus one star. This is a food court setup, and there are menus for each restaurant in these individual stands that are placed on top of a snack wall. If you're going to order from Rey TJ Burgers, it'll be to the left of the main restaurant/register that's directly in front of you when you enter. The main line is Mexican (and seafood I believe?), so I was standing for a while until a lady realized I was holding the Rey TJ burger and called me over. Ordering was easy. Rey TJ's didn't have drinks, so I hard to order from the Mexican food line. The cucumber aqua fresca was AMAZING. Definitely one of the best experiences since I've had since I've moved to the San Diego area. I'm loving it here more and more. I've also had the opportunity to practice a lot of Spanish which I absolutely appreciate. The people here are amazing and much warmer than many of the parts of Los Angeles. Buen dia!

This place fell short of my expectations. My coworkers brought it up to me, therefore we wanted to…read moretry since my son & husband lovessss burgers. It's a food court with its own shared parking lot. When we went in there was a huge line to the door. As you go up the line, there are multiple menus placed to your left in which they have multiple different food options to choose from. Gave me anxiety as I felt rushed coming here for the first time. A line gathering up behind us, ppl in front of me, didn't want to be rude reaching over ppl to grab the menus. So just waited as we moved up to look at them. There's so many options it's overwhelming. Once we got to the front, we were trying to place our order only to find out we waited in line for nothing. The burger line was the empty line to the left which there's no signage or nothing to explain. We did order 1 adobada taco, a horchata, & a sprite. The girl forgot my sprite, told me to go order in the left line for burgers. So when I was placing our burger order, I asked for the sprite I never received. The cashier for burger spot said I have to go back into the other line to order that. Confusing af. Luckily it had 2 customers & not a line out the door like when we first arrived. I ordered the smoked brisket burger, my son the Russel cheeseburger, & my hubby the "burgers & fries." My son did not touch his burger, literally went to waste. My husband said his was ok. As for my brisket burger, I did not like mine at all. It was super salty. It came with a meat patty & CHUNKS of cubed brisket? When I got smoked brisket I assumed it would've been like a pulled pork texture. Quite the opposite. They were chunks of cubed meat. I didn't finish mine. We took everything to go & didn't eat the leftovers once home. We paid around $50 for some less than mediocre burgers that I could've done better at home. I liked that the food court had a self serve salsa bar with plenty of salsas, ingredients, etc. The presentation of the food was good! But the food just wasn't it for us. Probably would never return tbh. Also, when we were wrapping up - the server was hovering over us to finish so she could take the boards/fry basket back. Not like we're gonna steal them. Lol. But I get it, maybe previous patrons have put them near the trash or thrown them away. As the burger place may be its own individual business aside from the food court.

finally got to try this place. Instagram brought us here lol. While waiting for our car to get…read morefixed, we decided to have a family brunch here. Lots of options to choose from. I was torn between the tortuga ninja and the breakfast mexipino. Decided to go with the mexipino sandwich and the ube pancake. Ube pancake - served on a pizza plate. Wow factor lol. The pancake was good, however i felt it could have used a macapuno syrup or something coconutty to complement the ube. The drizzle they put on it was good and i asked for extra and it boosted the flavor. This can probably feed 4-5 people depending on how hungry you are. Mexipino sandwich - this was good enough to split. I loved the savory and sweetness and saltiness. All the flavors complimented one another and i did a happy food dance. Calamansi mint drink - it was just ok for me. Reminds me of the calamansi drink from the pouches and they just added mint. It was too sweet for me so i probably wouldn't order again. It's not a big spot but they do have a lot of seating. The staff on duty were really nice. I want to come back to try the tortuga ninja sandwich. They do have high chairs for the little ones. Unsure of the restroom since we didnt use it. Plenty of free parking since this is in a strip mall.

So yeah, I'm game, but occasionally, I need a break, so I'm glad to know there's Mexipino. The place offers an excellent, adobo-ish chicken and waffles; a weird-ass combination of great tastes called "Mexipino Hash"; and a super-refreshing drink made with calamansi and mint, which, to this former bartender and current fat man, makes perfect sense.

The portions are generous. I always share or have leftovers. Everything is fresh and made to order. You can save time by ordering ahead. Today I had the chicken torta, bionicos, and the Pacific Mix juice post workout. The bread was nicely toasted on the panini, the chicken well seasoned and not dry. Light on the mayo as requested. The bionicos hit my sweet tooth but in a healthier way vs donuts or candy. The papas caseras was an impulse buy to try at a later time. I was definitely full and of course I had leftovers to bring home. A forewarning about the parking lot - it is a tiny parking lot shared with 4 or 5 other businesses including Francos Flapjacks, a tattoo shop, Chop Shop Barbers, and a smoke shop. There is only one entrance/exit and it can be crowded depending on the time and day.

For context, I…read morewas camping with my son's boy scout troop on Silver Strand and it was hot... really really really hot. I wanted to grab some delicious and refreshing treats and found this place on Yelp with incredible reviews and had to give it a shot. First of all, you'll need to resist the temptation to order EVERYTHING on the menu because you could easily eat and drink your way through the whole thing. I went with the mangonaeda and bought one for me and one for my son. The nachos looked awesome and while it wasn't exactly in the "refreshing" category, a boy's got to eat right? The fruit was delicious and the chamoy straw is always a treat. I'll be honest, I almost didn't make it back to camp with the second drink because it was that good. Now let's talk about the nachos. Don't you hate it when you see an incredible pile of nachos and all the topings and goodies are on top and they're virtually never and more layered throughout the chips and by the time you get to the bottom, you've just got dry chips? I hate that. Well apparently these fine folks didn't read that recipe book and there were so many jalapenos and so much cheese I actually ran out of chips before I ran out of the toppings. It was an epic snacking experience. Keep up the fine work you're doing here and I can't wait to see you again.
