Coming from So Cal where there's a del taco on every corner I start reminiscing high school days and decide to come in to get a quick bite. (Fish tacos, chicken soft tacos or veggie burritos with del scorcho). But even though it's a fast food place they need need to SLOW down. I've never had an issue with any del taco (including this one) until my last visit. Apparently having more than 2 customers in line and a car in the drive thru put them in a frantic rush to push food out quickly without any quality control. I received something I didn't order. It happens, and the cashier quickly fixed the error but the women assembling food were SO frazzled and overwhelmed that I felt bad and awkward for even asking them to remake it. I could almost taste their hurriedly put together frustration and then I felt bad for eating my burrito. No more fast food for me. read more

Ok, its del taco, I know. First time at this location. Tried the wet plate meal. Rice was full of over cooked grains making it ridiculous to try to eat. Red sauce was fair, its del taco. Beans were the best of the meal, but still not good. Should have stuck with del meat and call it a day! Service was terrible. Likely understaffed, 4pm. Waited almost 5 mins to order, no one in line. I went to Del Taco today with my cousin and my best friend for lunch today. I will never eat here again as long as I live. I found a nat on the inside of my lid on my drink and some sort of fly in side of my drink floating on top of the ice and Sprite. We've never eaten here, but we had some coupons, so we decided to give it a try. Right away, we got off on the wrong foot. The coupons clearly indicated "1 coupon per customer per visit". So, since there were two of us, we figured we could use both coupons. The person at the register told us "No, the two of you can only use 1 coupon per visit." So, we split our order: my wife ordered and used one coupon, then I ordered and used the other coupon. Dumb. Without the coupons, 2 burritos + 1 quesadilla + 1 small soda + tax = $12.20. Not exactly cheap for fast food. Then I noticed that the cashier--the woman that had just waited on us, handling money, touching the cash register, etc.--WAS MAKING OUR BURRITOS. This involved her bare hands touching lettuce, tomatoes, the tortilla, and so on. She didn't even have the token wimpy plastic gloves. Wow. Amazing service and food! Normally I don't have high expectations when I go to eat fast food, but this del taco went above and beyond. My friends and I came in today for a snack while my friend got her oil changed at the jiffy lube next door. We came in and were greeted by the manager, Teri. She was wonderful! We got our food super fast, and she made sure to even ask if we wanted water cups. The food came out quick and it tasted awesome! The new fish tacos are a 9/10, and the queso was qdoba quality, I would definitely recommend both. Once we were done, Teri came by and took our trash and asked us how our meal was! The people were friendly, and this place is cheap. They have a great edge being the only fast food in the little shopping area unless you head to McDonald's inside Wal-mart. The restrooms were clean, the eating area was clean. The food came out fast. All in all not a bad place to stop for a snack. read more

I still like this place. Probably eat here on average once every other week. The staff is ALWAYS friendly. Downgraded from 5 stars because sometimes this place isn't on point with cleanliness or quality control. (Usually after a rush I've noticed.) Though to clarify that, I've never had a problem with the quality of freshness of the food. My comment is more directed to lack execution on the food. Have had some sloppily made items here from time to time. And for cleanlinrss, sometimes the lobby will be trashed when I want to dine in. Sure it's fast food but I wanted to give a review to one particular lady who was working the drive-through today. Even though I had a difficult order due to some pretty particular specifications regarding avocado she was very patient and made it all happen. Then when we got up to the window she let us know that she was playing quality control and the fries were not up to her standards. She let us know it would be just a moment and it was just barely a minute when she came back with our hot fresh fries and let us know that she had "upgraded" us to a medium from a small due to the wait. This was far better customer service than I have experienced at many fancier establishments that claim "superior quality". read more

The place wasn't that busy when I arrived, and it appears the lady who normally would be preparing the food had a little time to clean, only reason it was obvious the broom was leaning against the cooler in the back and debris was on the floor. That wasn't the big issue, the big issue is they use these blue nitrile gloves for food preparation and employees get pretty complacent by going from doing stuff around the kitchen (sweeping) and when a food order comes in they just go from one task to the next. I made a comment to the lady at the register and asked if the person preparing the food was going to be changing her gloves because it was quite obvious the food preparer was the only one in the back area of the food prep area, you would have thought the next step would have been for the food preparer to "CHANGE" her gloves but that didn't happen. I took the food without further complaint and sat down and contemplated eating it but as I sat there I opted to throw it In the trash and go down to the In-and-Out burger. The thing about going inside versus just through drive-thru you get a true perspective on how much some employees that work in the food industry don't really care if you could get sick eating the food they prepare for you..... read more

My husband and I (who are in our 60's) placed a mobile order last night at 9:49pm at the Carson City location. We received their confirmation email, arrived at location BEFORE 10pm (they close at 10). Was met at the door by an angry balding man who yelled at me they were closed. I showed him my mobile order email and he said he didn't care, he got the order and was tired, wanted to go home and didn't want to make our food and would not serve us. He was VERY rude. This del taco has the friendliest employees and awesome customer service. Shelly took our order and was super friendly. Asked for a chocolate milk for my son and was informed they didn't carry it. (Not a big deal) we got regular milk. When paying she came over to the window and handed us a side of chocolate syrup so my son could have chocolate milk. She went way and above service! We each ordered the Epic Grilled Chicken Avocado Burrito, no beans. The chicken tasted as if it was a left over from last week, odd color, dry and tasteless. We had the exact same order 2 months ago and everything looked and tasted fresh. Well we each only had a bite or two of our burritos and said they tasted off. Not 1 hour later both of us were feeling slightly nauseous. Two hours after only a few bites we were both quite sick. I do believe we both contracted food poisoning. Drove through this location on the way to Reno from Gardnerville; should have chosen a different restaurant. The lady taking the drive through orders either couldn't hear us, or just didn't care. When she repeated our order to us, it was wrong. Her voice was also very nasally and it was hard to understand her. When we got to the window, we waited for about 3 minutes with no acknowledgment of us. When she finally got to us, we still had trouble understanding her. My avocado veggie bowl was all black beans and very little pico de gallo (usually there's a lot more). I asked for some extra (willing to pay for it), and the woman operating the window went and got one of the cooks who told me, "That's as much comes on the bowl, I'm not cheating you." With that all being said, my fiancé ordered a steak Street taco and was given chicken (chicken was also on the receipt). Our drink was forgotten and when it was given to us, it was only filled 2/3 of the way. Worst Del Taco I have ever been to. Ridiculously slow drive thru and always mess up my order. I order a chicken spicy Jack quesadilla every time I go and 9 times out of 10 it's missing the chicken. Even when I tell them they have forgotten in the past and to make sure it's still missing. One guy in particular in drive thru is rude every time. This place is REALLY hit or miss. I've come here and had great service, received delicious food very quickly, and been very pleased... I think the cheap menu items ($0.75 bean & cheese burritos) are a pretty good value, though not robust like the more expensive burritos. I've also been here and received the wrong order, or only part of my order, or been charged for things I didn't order, or received cold or stale food, or had phenomenally slow service, or dealt with obnoxious staff... And, more than once, all of this on the same visit. Sadly, the last few visits have all fallen in the latter category, and the good experiences seem to be happening less frequently. My advice: Don't go late at night on weeknights. Yes, they're open when other places aren't, but the late-night staff seems to be the source of at least most of my problems with this place. When I come at lunch or early evening, I'm always happy. There is a woman with a very distinctive nasal voice who works late nights on weeknights. If you drive thru and hear her voice--LEAVE. She is the only employee who has messed up my order, but she does it almost every single visit. She also asks the same questions repeatedly because she's not paying enough attention--hence, the wrong orders. read more

No one asked to take our order so i pulled up to the window just to see what time they closed. A lady slid open the window and said they close in 20 minutes so they aren't taking any orders. My friend and I come here like once a week. Love the chicken fajita burrito, he orders soft beef tacos. He's not much of an eater but he loves ordering them. Worst Del Taco ever. Ordering, one person taking orders - 5 parties waiting in line. Randomly was given a senior citizen discount - we're in our late 30s (I know, why complain...). Double charged for a meal, needed to get a refund. Order came up, no fries (should have received 3). Sat down and realized they also forgot our 1/2 lb red burrito. Chicken was sparse in the chicken soft tacos and the lettuce and tortillas had a funky taste - likely stale. While we were waiting there were 5 other people who came up with inaccurate orders. One person complained about how their del-taco was made, so the "manager" hollered at whoever made it asking if "this looks right, make a real del taco, how long has she been here? " so condescending each time she talked with the staff. When our burrito was ready, the same lady (Nicole) told us that next time our order is on her. The staff is always polite and courteous, while the food is always on point. The pricing can't be beat either especially when compared to other taco places. One thing that always surprises me is how good the burgers are. In my opinion the burgers here are better than almost every other burger fast food joint. I own a business here in the area and my guys and I refuse to ever go to this Del Taco, ever again. The last few times we've went there for lunch, the store manager was completely covered in pet hair and we couldn't believe she was the manager. She also smelled like marijuana and b.o.... One of my guys actually found one of those pet hairs, on his wet burrito and ended up getting sick. We all immediately walked out and will never be back again. This store needs to be closed down... Also, the dining room is always disgusting and the bathrooms never have any toilet paper or hand towels. I definitely will not recommend to friends or non-friends for that matter. read more

Just bad, bad, bad. Abnormally poor quality food, seriously. Everything tastes frozen...and then, improperly thawed. The fries (fries?) were an odd assortment of hot, cold, crisp, soggy and chewy. YUM? The chicken burrito tasted like it was packaged and reheated. The tacos are stale and processed-tasting. I really don't even want to waste anymore time on this place. The only reason I bothered to go this far is because I saw someone posting a 5 star review on my "local places" feed. Really, 5 stars? I have to ask: Have you ever eaten real, fresh, correctly prepared food before? Obviously not. This has got to be one of the shittiest del tacos I ever visited. I been coming here for years and its the same story just another day. Every single time I go through drive through they either forget my quesadillas, tacos, fries or some other items. So far the past three times I have picked up food here I came home to find out they forgot something. How do you forget to fully complete someones order its up on a screen? The last time I ordered a potato bacon burrito I found something inside my food it was a piece of rubber or plastic I could have choked. Every time I ask for no sour cream or tomatoes they do the opposite load it with both. It does not matter what time of the day it is no means no and they are just to lazy to give a care. The meat in there steak burrito and quesadilla is full of fat nobody wants to chew on blubber in fact it made me throw up. Sometimes I have to wait 20 minutes in drive through just for a couple combo meals. I could understand if I had an issue once in a blue moon here but when you go three times in one month and they screw it up every time its time to find a new taco restaurant to get food to go. The food is gross the service sucks and management does not know what the hell they are doing. A manager last night forgot my fry she also made our food seen her through the window and the whole order was a mess. This my friends is absolutely unacceptable and I refuse to give this place ONE RED CENT! I do know the employees here but I have been eating here for a while and the quality is always good. Everything is fresh from the chicken To the steak to the seafood and beans. They hand smash all.their freshly cooked beans and you can tell.in the taste they are better than the canned beans. The price is good for the quality and for fast.food its really.good. Take it from someone who used to work at this location, they don't cook ANYTHING fresh in the mornings its all left from the night before, the cold veggies aren't really too fresh, they are held past their red times, and should be thrown out, the manager is too worried about food cost, not the safety of the customers. Everything is always expired, they use it anyways. They don't hardly EVER wear gloves, and since I have not been employed with them, I have gone in their a few times, its AWFUL!!!!!!
