I eat there about every two months. They are consistently good. There is something special about the margaritas. And the bar drinks are good. It's clean and the service is friendly. read more

Great Place to Eat I frequent La Posada Real at least once a week when I'm in Carson City for work, and it's consistently a great experience. The employees are always attentive and do a great job checking in on customers and keeping drinks refilled. The food comes out quickly and is always good. Sergio at the bar deserves a special shoutout. He's constantly doing his thing, making sure everyone is doing well and that their drinks are topped off. You can tell he genuinely cares about providing great service. The restaurant is clean, the service is excellent, and the food is consistently good. Definitely one of my go-to places whenever I'm in town for work. Highly recommend! read more

This place is a complete and utter disgrace to Mexican food. The food was premade and not authentic at all. I ordered the "birria tacos," but there was no consome on the taco. It was just birria in a tortilla with cheese, and the tortilla was extremely hard and oily. The consome on the side was heated up on the warming tray, which was a shame because it was supposed to be a flavorful sauce. The rice and beans were also burnt and hard, which made the meal even more disgusting. I wouldn't come back here if my life depended on it. Whoever claimed this restaurant to be authentic was clearly not an authentic Hispanic. If this is authentic, then my microwave is a Michelin-star chef My younger brother had gotten the chicken quesadilla, and the chicken was flavorless. We also ordered the fiesta sampler, but the nachos were burnt. My mother got the carnitas fajitas, and the rice was hard, the beans were burnt, and the guacamole was warmed up as if it was warmed with the warming tray. That's how all the beans and rice were on every plate. The service was just okay. One of the women who served us was very nice, but the other lady was rude and seemed like she was rushing to get away. The ambiance was alright, but it didn't make up for the terrible food. 0 stars if I could. read more

The Massive Sunburnt Tarp on the side of the building really summed up the quality of the food and my experience eating there. Some of the food may not be for everyone, but the actual Mexican food was really good. I can see how other people may not see this place for what it's worth; like my table had pre-existing crumbs on it, but that's nothing to worry about. Also, the entire 5 person staff at the time, were all really understanding and kind to me and the other customers. I would recommend read more

This is a solid 4 star. My wife and I stop on here every so often and have always liked it. The chips and salsa are amazing, the service has always been spot on and the food is above par. They advertise Fine Mexican and food and in our eyes it truly it. read more

I ordered camarones de mojo de ajo-this disgusting gelatinous science fiction monster arrived. The shrimp were previously frozen and tough as hell. This restaurant claims to be authentic. I have never been so horrified and insulted by a dish. The cook needs to be smacked by the last 30 generations of grandmas in his line. If he's Mexican at all-I sincerely doubt any heritage cooking went into this fresh hell. Whomever created this dish I want you to sit and eat it sober. If you don't vomit then I will be shocked. Chips were stale and cheap-salsa was water with red hue Sampler was good. read more

Dinner for 14!! We had a reservation and were promptly seated. Waitress was with us quickly. Drinks were ordered and delivered promptly. She took our orders carefully noting any special requests. Our dinners were wonderful and served as closely timed as you could get 14 dinners. Waters and non-alcoholic drinks were kept filled. Professional and friendly service. The food was very good all the way around. I especially liked my mole enchiladas. They deserve a 5 star rating. My only comment for improvement...our bill did not come with a detailed list of everything we ordered. read more

Good Eats. Great price for my budget. Excellent service. Very clean. I had the nachos on my first visit and they were delicious. 2nd visit I had the enchiladas. And today I made it there for the Lunch Special, a taco rice and beans with a drink. What a deal. 5 stars is not enough for this place. read more

Ordered the burrito and it was just ok. Definitely not worth the price. It was smaller than I expected and only comes with green sauce.

The food is always great here. The service is also great. The prices are quite reasonable. We had a great Father's Day celebration. It's relatively quiet. read more

Went to try them for lunch one day. First off the place was very clean, staff friendly. Our waiter was great and on top of everything. I opted for the chili relleno combo plate which was amazingly one of the better I've had around here which came with 1 enchilada to which I opted for the ground beef. It's so hard to find decent ground beef in mexican restaurants as they all want to do the shredded which is not my preference. So this was really good. Hubby opted for the 2 enchiladas, 1 beef and 1 cheese to which he loved them both. Choice of beans and rice. They do have a small lunch menu which is 9.99 a plate and come with 1 item, rice and beans. You have to ask for the lunch menu. All in all, it was really good and gives us a new place to go too. read more

My best friend and I were excited to eat here since we hadn't since they first opened. By the end of our visit we were saddened by our decision to eat here. We were sat (not really greeted) immediately when entering. The restaurant is large and well lit. There is a good amount of seating available. When at our booth, the woman who sat us took our drink order and quickly returned with chips and salsa. The chips were crispy and lightly salted. The salsa was smooth with a low heat level. To eat, I had the Taco Salad (ground beef) and my best friend had #11 (Chile Relleno & Carne Asada Taco). My Taco Salad was decent in flavor but it was mostly meat and beans-very little lettuce. My best friend's #11 was extremely disappointing. The taco was flavorful and large in size. The chile relleno was uneatable. The relleno is covered in a very thick egg batter. On top of being super thick, the egg batter was super sweet. It was so bad she couldn't even choke down a 2nd bite. The rice and beans that it came with were seasoned well and delicious. For dessert we had the Fried Ice Cream. It was a standard Fried Ice Cream. After this experience, and leaving 1/2 of one of our meals behind due to it being uneatable, we decided to take this restaurant off of our "to eat at" list. read more

A great Mexican restaurant in what used to be a Chili's many years ago The food is great, especially the shrimp Caesar salad. Chips are freshly made out of stone ground corn and salsa has just the right amount of heat Staff is friendly but service can be a bit slow at times read more

We stop in here after a day of shopping about once a month. The food is yummy. Bright and big restaurant and bar, with plenty of booths and seating. There isn't a bad seat in the house. It's the usual mexican fare, and it's higher than some, and less than some. I have had the chimi and the Pozole (every weekend all day!) The guac is homemade, and I normally don't eat the chips and salsa, but I do like it here. We usually have margarita's, but the last time we were in they were off, and we aren't sure why. (which is why I took one star) Plenty of parking, and close to everything. Great for families, or date night. Go enjoy! read more

3rd time giving this place a chance. Last two times food was not great. Stayed at the hotel across the street from this place. Was craving some decent food. We opted to try la Posada and I was quite impressed. Any other similar style food in town has not been that good. My asada plate was spot on how i wanted the meat cooked, beans and rice were great. My child opted for a quesadilla and my Mom ordered the shredded beef taco and one enchilada. Our only mistake made by our waiter was the taco turned out to be chicken but the food was still most excellent. Our server was Abel who was very kind and patient. I will be returning on a future trip to Carson City. Thank you for the great service! read more

La Posada Real - Asada plate with rice and beans, grilled onions and the guac on the side. Choose from Corn or Flour Torts - Mexican Near Me - Carson City, Nevada

After visiting La Posada on a few occasions now, I believe it's safe to say the food rocks and is definitely a great choice for Mexican food in Carson! First visit there, I sat at the bar and had a margarita and some Pozole. The Pozole comes out by itself so if you'd like tortillas, cabbage, cilantro or onion to go with it, you definitely have to ask. It would be better IMO if it just came with it already, it would save the wait staff a trip. The soup comes in a big bowl and is full of pork and hominy! With the extras I asked for, it was perfect. The second visit I ordered a Shrimp Fajita burrito. It comes out with sauce on top and is served with rice and beans. The burrito is amazing! I loved the flavor and it's a big burrito filled with fajita veggies and big shrimp. I will order this again someday. Lastly I ordered the Fajitas Colonial and shared them with my sons grandma. They were AMAZING. Definitely enough to share or have some left overs...or just eat the whole thing if you're really hungry! My son ordered Nachos for his entree. We ate those and the fajitas and it was perfect. I also got a Michelada with it! Beer with lime juice, tomato or Clamato juice, and other sauces with a tajin/chili and salt lined cold glass. Almost like a Bloody Mary but with beer instead of Vodka. So good! I will be going back regularly to try different things until I move! read more

All around a great experience. Welcomed us with smile and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and served us Chips and salsa within minutes. Drinks followed. After ordering our food it came very quickly. I had a combination plate with chicken taco, my husband had beef enchilada combo plate. Everything was hot, tasty and delicious. We live in Tahoe, we do not have great Mexican food here, so can hardly wait to visit this restaurant again. This is our second time here and our first visit was identical to this one. Plus it was our 39th anniversary which made it a very special evening. Thank you for another great experience! See you again soon! read more

We were looking for a more authentic Mexican restaurant and this wasn't it. The salsa that was served with the chips had a strange taste to it. It tasted like beans. If you don't like beans, you won't like their salsa. The chicken burrito was big but not very flavorful. Nachos were decent but nothing great. Service was slow and inattentive, even though we were one of the only tables there. read more

Food is delicious. I go here during my lunch break. The owner is so nice. And it is very clean too!

Love this place and the people!!! Victor is amazing and the food was great compliments to the chefs

The restaurant is clean and spacious. We were seated with chips and drinks promptly. The house margaritas were tasty. We shared a combo fajitas and we were very pleased with our meal! We will return. I gave a 4 but it should have been 4.5. The only thing missed a 5 was we didn't have enough tortillas and no one inquired if we needed more.
