So, the restaurant is clean. And there's good parking. But what is with the kiosk ordering it took waaaaay longer to do that then just to have someone input the order. This self service stuff is more annoying than anything. Additionally, I never even spoke to a human... they were all behind the counter doing food prep and standing around looking at each other. Not very friendly feeling. While waiting I decided to use the men's facilities and was sad to find that the restroom was kinda dingy and the paper towel dispenser didn't work. There is a blower but c'mon, both should work. I was glad I didn't have to enter my phone number in order to flush. This space needs cleaned and serviced regularly. The food arrived 12 minutes later. We usually come here and the food is perfect, the service is courteous, and the process is fast. We've never had a problem until now. Yesterday at 4:37 we placed an order for a Fiesta pack (6 tacos/6 green sauce bean burritos). We found some kind of contaminant in our burrito. Had to throw away the other five. Took a photo of it, sent it in to Del Taco. This morning we get an email thanking us for our "feedback", with a dollar off any three dollar purchase. Astounding. Not looking for free food, but would've appreciated some more reassurance as to what this foreign matter my wife ingested could be. I used to eat at various Del Tacos quite a bit, and would eat at this one often when I was in the area. To me, all the Dels had the same food. Not great food, but as good as Taco Bell, and a lot cheaper. About 3 weeks ago, I was in the area so wanted to visit one of my favorite fast food place, Del Taco, that we don't have in Portland. What a huge disappointment. Prices have skyrocketed. Chicken rollers are DOUBLE what they use to be. Reg tacos are almost double. I ordered 2 chicken rollers. Used to be that would fill me up. They are now about half the size they used to be. So half the size, at twice the cost, equals 4x more expensive. You can't blame that on inflation. That will be my very last visit to Del Taco. read more

I usually love Del Taco- especially their fries. I'm in Albany weekly lately, and decided to stop here for lunch because I never get Del Taco, and it's my favorite fast food Mexican place. I don't know what was up this evening with the service and prep. Late in the 5 o'clock time. We ordered a strawberry milkshake and they started to give us a strawberry Sprite. The crinkle fries were not cooked all the way through and consequently we're not more than warm. I finished them in our microwave. We ordered two fish tacos, one was warm, one was cold to the touch. I have to admit.. I feel like an absolute sellout when I sit here and give a fast food chain restaurant 5 stars. I really do. I've been here a few times in the last month or so. My buddy Matt and I were debating where to eat one day, and he's more indecisive than I am, which I didn't actually know could be accomplished. He tells me we're coming here. Honestly, my first question was, what's the different between this and Taco Bell or even Taco Time? It's all tacos. I had low expectations, especially after he claimed it was simply amazing, and worth the 45 minute drive. His idea of amazing is Shari's. So again, low expectations. Now it's become, I want tacos and he'll ask me, so we're getting on the freeway? Yep. We walk in, and order. Matt orders his tacos without lettuce or tomatoes. He eats like a 5 year old, so it's meat, cheese, and ketchup. Which again contributes to the low expectations. I ordered mine as well, although like normal tacos. The thing that strikes me the most is the consistency of this place. I love the fact it is consistent every single time we've gone in, from the cleanliness, to the food, to the customer service. It's actually kind of impressive. The food is good, never greasy, never feels like it's missing any ingredients or there isn't enough. It's filling, it doesn't make me sick after I've eaten it. I love it. The employees are always friendly, and helpful. The orders are always correct. I've never had them screw it up yet, and it's still fast. Would I return? Went last night about 11:00pm. The girl working the window at the drive thru who had purple fingernails (which I thought wasn't allowed in food service jobs,) literally did not say one word to me as I was handing her payment or as she was handing me my food. I kept on saying thank you to her, and still not a word. Very unfriendly. Asked for an ice water and the water tasted like it came out of a sewer, not even edible to drink. There was nothing like Del Taco in Oregon until a few years ago, as this huge chain was prevalent in virtually all of the west coast especially in California, Arizona, and Nevada. Since its arrival in Albany, a few others in Salem and Portland, Del Taco has given Taco Bell a real run for its money. Sure its corporate, its pricey, but its oh-so-good. I don't know why I keep ordering from this restaurant when the quality of food is always the same. Among my order was a large order of nachos; however I received a regular and there was barely any chips. This restaurant was very nice and very clean! I felt very comfortable ordering from here. The employees worked hard, and the dining room was very clean. There is a large variety of menu items. I ordered the fish taco meal (number 7). They were delicious, and included a piece of fried fish, cabbage, ranch, and a lime wedge. It was ALOT of cabbage, and I had to throw most away. Overall, they were very delicious and filling. My guest ordered a burrito, and it was massive! Very filling, although he complained that there was too much rice and not enough meat. I did not set my sights low enough. Del Taco is what Taco Bell used to be. You could spend a little money here, and get a lot of food. Remember when Taco Bell was like that? Yeah, it was a long time ago so maybe you don't remember. I give props to Taco Bell on their new menu introductions that are usually at an into price of .99 or something along those lines (before they go up to $2+ which makes you wonder how much the markup on these things REALLY are) but that's the only credit I'll give them. For always decent prices, and a great new cheaper value menu, love this place. Unique menu items (chili cheese fry burrito? 1.19?
