We have NEVER had a teacher we did not appreciate. As for the posts regarding bullying. . .I wonder if they are reaching out? Is the school aware of what is going on? I have had bullying issues with my child being on both ends and the school has not only contacted me immediately but helped resolve the issues, whether is be a meeting with teacher/principal, a phone call, or a sit down with other parents. They do have high turn over for principals but it has never really caused us any issues. And they do stress attendance but I cannot imagine any school not. Regular attendance helps the teacher & student build a relationship. Attendance is important!!

My son loves going to school and loves the teachers, all of them. The director, Mrs. Szalene is amazing. My son had a little separation anxiety the first two weeks and she assured me he would get over it, and he did! Everyone there is super friendly and most importantly, I feel my son is SAFE and in a SAFE environment. The Tuition is very affordable and they are open from 6am-6pm which is accommodating for me and my work schedule. If you are interested, I would highly recommend them, it is at a Christian church, so if you aren't into religion, this wouldn't be a good choice for obvious reason. Its a perfect fit for our family and recommend it anyone.

A child who is advanced deserves to be taught, stretched, and supported at their own level, not turned into an extra classroom helper. I was also disappointed by the communication. Too often, concerns were brought up in a way that felt one-sided, and it became hard to trust that situations were being handled fairly and objectively. As a parent, once trust in the communication starts breaking down, the whole school experience feels different. I have also noticed the school community feels very different than it did before. Public enrollment dropped from 700 students in 2023-24 to 662 students in 2024-25, and you can feel that change in the school's energy and parent involvement. The school fair felt much emptier than in previous years, and the overall atmosphere no longer feels like the same strong community it once did. The school may work for some families, but it was not the right environment for my child. I want my child in a place where she is both supported and challenged, where concerns are handled fairly, and where strong students are allowed to grow instead of being held back. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

And we have to pay 11K property tax annually to have our son be in this environment - but I'm sure this is synonymous with how competitive parents are these days.

The children themselves were friendly and eager to say hello to my then-4-year-old and as soon as our tour ended, I knew this was the place for us. Now that we're nearing the end of our first year at OLF, I can confidently say our instincts were correct -- the teachers are caring and competent and the community is cohesive, but most importantly, there is a strong emphasis on education, fellowship, and safety. Or how to find the area of a 2 by 3 concrete slab. No joke. All three couldn't calculate it. And one was a "math wiz" of that normal looking group on my block. And it's nice to meet people at the front office who don't seem angry all the time. Someone missed their calling at our last two schools. Great and complete curriculum so far. Seems much more serious a school. Also the kids have fun for sure too. No major issues so far. Will check in later after he's been there longer. They got me to put off a decision on charter schools for a little longer.

The staff think the kids can't remember or won't repeat what's being done at school. My son has went to this school for 2 years & since day 1 he has experience different treatment than the "white kids" receive. He complained about being yelled at, asked "why you can't do it & the other kids can!" & being forced to complete his lunch after stating his full!!!
