Please do your research on this place. I was looking for a dog to fit my lifestyle and found a french bulldog. Right off the bat something was wrong. The worker that was there to answer some questions for me didn't know what dog I had with me or the age ( I was told first 6 months then 6 years while online it said 4 years old). I was also first quoted $200 for the dog. When I didn't make a decision right away I was told to leave the room since "another family was going to see" the dog. Even though it was only 15 minutes before closing. Then when I wanted to go and adopted the dog I came back 4 days later and was quoted $600. Since a french bulldog is "expensive and we want to be sure that the dog is going to a family that is financially able to afford her". After I left I was texted and quoted $205 for the French bulldog. It was a whirlwind. I felt like no one knew what they were saying as I kept getting incorrect information right after another.

We had a great experience here with the adoption process. I was a little hesitant since there were so many negative reviews. I can only write on our experience only. We visited 3 times before adopting teenage cat. They were very helpful and they were quite busy as well so it took a bit to get through the process. We did the online application and met our lil man and took him to his forever home. I can understand when people have set their eyes on a specific adoptee online as we saw some that were adopted right away. But we are happy that they find homes too. So if you're interested, best go there and spend some time. There's an adult male cat named Hefty for anyone who's looking for the most affectionate cat. We would have adopted him but we have a 1year old and wanted one that was similar to her age.

If you are looking for your next pet this is a great place to go. The staff really cares about the animals. The establishment is clean and the staff is friendly. I fostered through WAGS and it was such a wonderful experience to see my foster pup get adopted into her forever home. If you are serious about being a pet owner or foster please stop by WAGS. Remember, adopt don't shop! Also, if you are friendly and love animals please consider volunteering.

We adopted Bruiser formerly known as Truffle about 2 and a half weeks ago already and our hearts are so full of love for him. Bruiser gets along with our 3 crazy dysfunctional cats and has taken the role of man of the house. Bruiser enjoys walks and basking in the sun. Although he came home with a pretty bad upper respiratory infection it's nothing his momma can't deal with. Bruiser is definitely a spicy chihuahua but he's loving the life we were allowed to give him. Thank you to the multiple employees that helped make this possible!

We adopted our cat Remi about 10 months ago when she was a 2 month old kitten. She has grown to be a wonderful and healthy companion. This shelter is always clean and the staff are always so welcoming and accommodating. I love how you can enter the kitten/cat rooms and play with all of them. It makes the process of selecting a kitten so much easier because we can really get a feel for their personality. They often have an adopt one get one free promotion which is nice if you're looking for two animals. This is also nice for bonded pairs of kittens. Thank you WAGS for your hard work and dedication to caring for our city's animals.

Pollyanna. She's living her best life.

I went in just to see what kind of cats they had. I found a sweet little girl. She meowed at me. I picked her up and she wouldn't let me go.

The adoption process was incredibly smooth, and the staff were kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful every step of the way, making the experience completely stress-free. We couldn't be happier with our two kittens and are so grateful to the Seal Beach Animal Care Center for bringing them into our lives. All of the kittens are friendly, already spayed or neutered, and up to date on most of their vaccinations, which gave us even more peace of mind. You guys were amazing--I highly recommend this shelter to anyone looking to adopt a dog or cat! Just a heads up--many of the negative reviews seem to come from people who are mad they didn't meet the standards. In reality, it's clear that the staff genuinely care about ensuring their animals are placed in safe, loving homes. I really respect the level of dedication they show to the well-being of each animal.

You will probably only experience this treatment if you are a person of color. My second visit here consisted of me and my husband being chastised for having to rehome a cat in the past due to us just simply not having enough space for her. Was accused of rehoming her to my best friend so that she could be an outdoor cat (this is untrue. She was a cat that required a house, not an apartment). I kept having to remind several staff members that rehoming her was the last thing we wanted to do and that it was in her best interest. Not to mention the several staff members who kept constantly asking us the same questions over and over again to see if our story would change. But I digress... the women here need to learn better hospitality and lenience. It truly was always an uncomfortable experience coming here and then having it be an even bigger bummer when a white person comes in to visit with the cats to be treated better than us. Not saying to not come here to adopt! They handle the cats veterinary needs extremely well and are thorough But just beware of snarkiness and condescending behavior

I brought my first cat to be neutered in about 2012. You have to call to schedule. He was in at 8am and by the afternoon. The wait times to see a veterinarian can be very long depending on how many patients show up. Appointments can also be backed up because of emergencies. I have an aggressive dog and they are very understanding about her needs. They also help pets having emergencies. Nobody is turned away. It was really hard to find any practice like this when the location was closed temporarily. I'm glad this location is open and I hope they stay open.

The biggest issue was the handling of my dog's vaccination records. We provided official vaccine records showing that our dog was vaccinated, but the clinic refused to accept them because their requirements were different from what is commonly accepted elsewhere. This was not clearly communicated beforehand and resulted in a wasted trip and a lot of frustration. The staff's communication felt unprofessional, and the overall experience left me feeling that customer concerns were not being handled appropriately. I would recommend that anyone considering this clinic ask detailed questions about their vaccination requirements before scheduling an appointment.

06/02/2026- A feral cat was brought to a pet hospital (Stanton Pet Hospital, 8591 Katella Ave,…read moreStanton, CA) due to breathing issues. His exam and treatment were being covered by a third-party person or organization (Hilary Strauss/ Second Chances). During the check in, hospital staff were informed of the possible cause for the cat's issues. He had possibly ingested water from a bowl that was covered in mold. The cat was dropped off under the impression that he would be treated and returned to the primary person (feeder). The cat was sedated while an x-ray was completed. He was determined to have fluid in his lungs or abdomen. The hospital and the agent for the third party (Hilary Strauss) made the decision to euthanize the cat while he was sedated. This decision was made without any signs of suffering or distress, positive results of an incurable condition, or the inclusion of the primary who delivered the cat for treatment and signed all his paperwork. An effort was made to obtain all documents related to this incident, and those requests were initially denied. The hospital finally provided the patient sign in papers, and results from the x-ray. The sign in sheet had been amended by the hospital's office manager (Sylvia Hernandez) and there were no copies of results from any exams or blood work.
