Hemopet is the BEST! Everyone there is so kind and caring for the Greyhounds. They have an amazing Greyhound Rescue Center. Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I adopted my beautiful Joffrey the Greyhound about 3 years ago and he has been the greatest gift of all. Best dog and bread ever! So loving, so silly and sooo mellow. Biggest couch potato. I LOVE HIM. Thank you!!!!

    Loving caring and neat artwork...

While we dearly miss Dr. Lassin, Dr. Leumer is so very kind and gentle. I wish my human doctor was this caring. Great with delayed vaccinations, solid information, as well as very attentive technicians who do pre-check and take your pet to the back room. They brought our Blue Nosed Pittie back from 'the edge'. He was so sick and depressed from skin disorder which other vets could not tackle, including a long distance alternative vet , and Dr. Lassin and Dr. Leumer and (Dr. Dodd in the wings) got him back to former self. I'd definitely recommend their allergy tests, it worked by defining exactly what our family member could tolerate. They are exceedingly prompt in emailing! Wow. Never a long wait-they don't seem to overschedule. Top notch place and worth a long drive.

Such an amazing and wonderful non profit to help save rescue greyhounds while they also provide life saving blood to other animals in need. I volunteer here and the facility is nice and there are dogs everywhere! The dogs are truly so sweet and funny. If my two Pomeranians wouldn't be so jealous, I would bring one home!

How much is it to adopt a greyhound?

I am so sad to find that Dr. Lassin is no longer with Hemopet. He truly was one of a kind, I thought I had found my forever vet. Has anyone found another vet that can sort of come close to the incredible care that Dr. Lassin provided?

I feel exactly the same way. I just found out yesterday when I called to make an appointment with him for my 2 dogs that Dr. Lassin left in January and is in Texas now. So sad.

You know... Ive been waiting a long time to leave my review for wags... I adopted my cat from here…read more & I have nothing but positive things to say. Highly suggest WAGS! Honestly I was very hesitant to even rescue/adopt from here given all the stuff I've read online. There have been some crazy stories I've read. I read a review, and when I went in I could remember a lady's name who was mentioned and I didn't think she was that bad... idk people have their opinions but I highly suggest WAGS Pet Adoption. They have private rooms for you to meet & greet any potential babe. I only have great things to say. If you're rescuing/ adopting you need to do the aftercare and realize you're most likely going to need to do some care for your new friend. Some fur babies need more care than others...they don't all come 100%!!! My babe is a cutie and is happy. She had a funky eye for a while but is fine now. Just get your pet a vet. WAGS offers vet services too.

I didn't want to make a review since I got a kitten from them but after reading the reviews I…read moreurgently ask you to consider. FIP is an EXTREMELY EXTREMELLLY rare disease that many vets aren't even familiar with due to its rare nature. My kitten I adopted here had FIP. Multiple reviews also state their cats had FIP and I knew someone personally who got their cat at WAGS and it came with FIP. I knew something was wrong with my cat so I brought it back to wags and their vet took one look at him and returned him home to me saying "he was perfectly normal" when all his symptoms (lethargy, bloated, not eating, diarrhea, breathing) pointed towards something severely wrong. A few weeks later I took him to another vet outside. HE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FIP. I knew it and already told the WAGS vet this but she refused it. My vet told me my kitten was very close to dying but since the medication just got approved by the FDA a few months ago, my bay fortunately survived but it was a very very expensive and stressful journey. My cat has scars and bald spots from the medication and was screaming with pain from the injections. There was a Facebook group for FIP support and someone also got their cat from WAGS and it had FIP. The amount of cats walking out of here with FIP is concerning because it costs thousands to treat and is so painful for the cat. I called wags back to inform them of their neglect and all the front lady could say over the phone was "we're so sorry. The only option is to put him down." That was literally all. I had no words. While yes, some cats get put down for FIP, please know there is treatment for FIP now and there is hope if your cat has FIP. This place also had extremely mean workers and I hope they read this review and know that their neglect and cold hearts have killed so many innocent animals. You would think they could at least show more professionalism. This is insane

I left a voicemail simply asking if there was a chance he had been brought here. Penny returned my call, and from the very beginning, she was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of showing even a little compassion, I was told, "Midway City is a bit far for a cat to walk," "Next pet you have, make sure you microchip them," and "He was probably eaten by a coyote or hit by a car." None of those comments were helpful, appropriate, or necessary. I wasn't looking for a lecture or worst-case scenarios--I was simply asking if there was a possibility my dad's missing cat had been brought in. When people call about a missing pet, they're already going through an incredibly stressful and emotional time. A little kindness and empathy go a long way. Unfortunately, that was completely lacking in this interaction. Do better.

In my call I specifically told them I was following up on my application and to text me when they received it. Waited another few days, heard nothing about if they had found my application, then the email I sent to follow up came back as undelivered and not accepting emails so I guess their email doesn't even work. So, complete waste of time. Disorganized. And with all the time I spent answering all their invasive questions which included my drivers license and personal information, you think they could at least, I don't know, answer the damn phone and follow simple directions without leaving a condescending @$$ voicemail on my phone. I feel really bad for the animals stuck with these people. Stay away and go with a rescue that isn't here to waste your time. Pay attention to the 1 star reviews. I was heartbroken because I had formed an attachment with both of my kittens but i knew I had to secure them a good life... I didn't want them to become stray kittens and this is where Love Fur Paws Rescue came into play. They provided me with a great sense of relief knowing that the people in charge share the same care and love towards my little babies. All my questions were addressed and although I was very saddened to leave my 2 peeps behind, I knew they were in great hands. Also, keep in mind cats/ kittens are left to fully roam around the house and not kept in any sort of cages so from there you know their wellbeing is being put first. I was in tears and completely overwhelmed, and I was met with nothing but kindness, patience, and compassion. What really amazed me was watching how experienced and capable they were with the kittens. Seeing how naturally and lovingly she cared for them immediately reassured me that I had brought them to the right place. They took what was an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking situation for me and made it so much easier. They even offered to send me updates and pictures of the kittens as they grow until they are eventually adopted, which means more to me than I can possibly explain.
