We arrived for a Christmas night dinner with very few expectations. My what a Christmas gift. My wife and I arrived at 7:30 (I know really early by Spanish standards) to a half full room of diners including families dressed for a special evening, as we were. Shown to our table immediately, seated, allowed a few minutes to settle in before asked for drinks and shown menus. Very easy flow of menus, cocktails, wine list and time to peruse. They offered specials but the head waiter stopped in to offer the kitchen expertise for anything off menu that they might try satisfy. All done with ease and grace. Menu was expansive Spanish/ French with nice selections of seafood and meats. My wife had the lobster Thermidor and I had a fish soup and grilled corvina. We started with fresh bread and butter (excellent olive oil was on the table), a muse bouche of salmon purée, olives, an aioli and carrot/celery. The salmon was nicely done and a good start. The soup came next and was very flavorful and hearty. Nice chunks of seafood. The mains came next nicely timed. The Thermidor was nicely sauced with large chunks and sauce was exquisitely balanced. My wife loved it. My corvina was a a very nice portion. Gilled to perfection on a bed of whipped potatoes, julienne vegetables and delectable sauce. We finished with a goat cheese ice cream. It went well with our remaining cava (the wine list is extensive and heavily Spanish) and a nice cortado. We were given a Spanish cordial on the house that finished the meal. This was the work of a confident and professional kitchen. Service was special. We had at least 2 waiters (both young women) looking after us. They remained unobtrusive but efficient. Smiles and banter when we initiated but very professional. The restaurant was elegant but comfortable,15-18 tables I could see. As we left we were thanked and shown again the kind of genuine hospitality of gracious hosts who were confident and proud of their kitchen and staff and who truly enjoyed their work. I thought $$'s were equivalent to the value received. If you have the opportunity when you visit Marbella/ Estepona or make a special trek to try, I hope you will not be disappointed.

OMG! What a fantastic place! It is so hard for me to give a 5 star review because not many places…read moreof this caliber seem worthy of it. They seem almost held to a higher standard in my mind because of what they are. They are opulent fine dining and so they should just be perfect right? If there are Tesla's, Ferrari, and Aston Martin's everywhere you should just expect perfection right? I understand that as an American I am used to a different kind of service, I guess... Fast acknowledgement and really attentive is what I would call it when out dining in a $$$$ restaurant. On our visit's it wasn't that they were slow or uncaring, just different... We never really had a "server" that I could identify as "our server". We had a team of people that seemed to all have a different role in our service. One brought water and drinks, another brought menu's, another took our order, and yet another served our food when it was ready. When he delivered my food he said something inaudible and I agreed. I can only assume that meant dress my dish for me. He removed the bones from my Lamb Shoulder and plated it for me. He seemed to be the professional food presentation guy as I watched him serve several people around us various dishes. He had the precision of a surgeon when serving the fish dishes cooked in rock salt. On to the food! This is where this place stood out! They brought out a nice crispy vegetable appetizer when they served the bread. (The Naan bread was amazing BTW) We had the Tiger Prawn Cocktail to start and wow is all I can say. Big giant Prawns in a layered cocktail type sauce. I have no idea what the sauce was but wow. I could have eaten 4 of these dishes and just left. It was that good. We also tried the Tandoori Chicken Wing Lollipops on another (lunch) visit and they were good but nothing like the Prawns. My wife ordered the Surf and Turf (Filet and Lobster). It was served with fresh veggies. The Lobster was pulled from the tail and served atop the Filet. She seemed to really enjoy it and commented about how good it was. I was totally distracted by my own food. On to my Lamb Shoulder! This is one of the best pieces of meat I have ever had. It was tender, juicy, full of flavor, and well... amazing! It was served with a Red Wine sauce, and Chimuchurri sauce, and the best damn Béarnaise sauce I have ever had. I reluctantly added the Béarnaise sauce to the Lamb not want to detract anything from the meat but as I tasted it I could not help but keep adding more and more to my plate. It was sooo good! I ate every single bite of it and didn't even care that I was about to explode from gluttony. My Wife couldn't finish her steak so I tried a bite of hers; it wasn't even in the same ballpark as the Lamb. It wasn't bad; it just wasn't nearly as divine as my Lamb. As I stated earlier, the service was strange and almost kept me from giving 5 stars. We waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged for drinks and another 10 for the check. Everything in between drove the 5 star review home!

Food was extremely jestic... service was good but extremely overpriced, i'm good off it.read more

The first few places seemed to be closed (it was a Sunday night) but eventually I found The Farm which sounded solid and looked cute in the pictures. We grabbed an uber with our friends who dropped us "as close as he could get" and we found our way using Google Maps down the pedestrian only areas of town. This was maybe 7:30pm for dinner, which in Spanish time is not the time for dinner, so we had the place to ourselves for an hour or so. We did dine outside on the upper level patio, which was extra charming, and not at all an issue as blankets were provided and there was also a standing heater. My husband, the self-proclaimed biggest fan of Iberico anything, got straight into ordering and I think had at least 4 plates of jamon sent to the table before we cut him off. We finally convinced him to do the Farmer's Tapas plate to add some cheese into our lives. The kitchen also sent out out some absolutely delicious olives and hummus as a snack. Our server "Stefan" (I totally made up that name for him btw because he was Swedish lol) was absolutely amazing. We loved interacting with him, getting his wine recommendations (they were fabulous) and really could have spent a much longer time here just because of him. He's awesome! The one drawback (for some) might be the menu here, which is slightly limited, but I had faith that this meant the kitchen had perfected these dishes, and I was right. After all the light bites to start I was pretty full and opted for the Beet Carpaccio as a main, which was just the right size and light enough for me to steal a few bites of other's food. The Ox Tail in Blueberry Sauce was delightful as was the Paella. Seriously cute place in the area which shouldn't be overlooked.
