We ordered both from the broad menu and from the tapas case and have been here 3/5 evenings! Everything is freshly prepared. My boyfriend has had a seafood soup and the entrecôte from the menu. He thought the seafood soup was one of the best he has had. I think we have had 9 or 10 different tapas. My favorite is the lamb skewers over French fries. Each has been unique and tasty. I think the most expensive was 3,70€ with most priced at 2,60€ or so. The weather has been a bit chilly, so we have sat inside rather than outside. It is very pleasant with upbeat music and stools. The restrooms are super clean. Service is absolutely excellent; friendly and efficient. We were never rushed and tapas would appear one after another instead of all at once. We feel they are genuinely happy you are here. The check has been between 18€ and 26€ for 6 tapas, 2x 0,0 beer and a sparkling water. There has not been a single time we have had to wait for a table. It is as of yet, undiscovered! Our new favorite tapas restaurant in Estepona and now among the "must" visit restaurants!

Service is extremely attentive without being bothersome. The staff is multi lingual and seem genuinely happy to be working there. The menu is nicely varied. We ate dinner here three times in 2 weeks. Hot, homemade rolls are brought to the table. The snails in garlic butter are to die for! The mussels entree is also excellent. The chicken was also tasty and in a wonderful presentation. Portions depend upon the entree. Some are small and some are very large. Two entrees. Snails. A wine and two bottles of sparkling water were a modest 45€. Reservations are suggested. Horrible service from a condescending and misgonystic waiter. We asked to have only a coffee and sat outside to enjoy the street live musicians. At the end the waiter constantly made condescending nasty remarks how we spent only 4 euros and not enough money to sit at his tables. He continued telling us that we are just American woman on vacation in Málaga. Then pushed my friend on her shoulder and yelled at us to get out of his restaurant. He continued to yell at us as we walked down the street. We were disgusted and immediately told the police nearby who accompanied us to the restaurant to help us file a formal complaint with the city hall. Of course with the presence of the police he was respectful and polite only to the police. But he continued to make nasty comments about women and the police had to ask him to sit quietly as we filed a formal complaint. He didn't stop and told me good luck filling out the form because it's not in English! LoL We all know how Americans are so uneducated right? The police spoke no English so how did I explain the situation... Maybe this silly American is studying Spanish in Spain?? Nah we are just uneducated American tourists. I strongly do not recommend this establishment and hope no one has to suffer this behavior for buying a coffee and sitting outside for 40 minutes. If there was a minimum to sit down he could have told us and we would have made a decision to stay or leave. Many cities with restaurants in prime locations make there expectations clear and we respect that. But it's not acceptable to treat people like second class for not spending enough. Stay away.

I have had great Greek, Italian, and Chinese cuisine in…read moreEstepona but on one particular Sunday afternoon whilst strolling down Calle Caridad, I saw Las Gitanillas and they had paella on the menu posted outside which immediately caught my attention.  Let me cut to the chase, that was the best Paella that I have had in a very long time which paired quite well with a very nice Albariño highly recommended by Javier, one of the servers and family member. After a fabulous meal, I rather enjoy a nice aperitif and so far, Las Gitanillas is the only venue that I have patronized in Estepona that has my favourite, Drambuie.  Manuela, her daughter Gema, and son Javier were the perfect hosts and the epitome of exemplary customer satisfaction. Indeed Las Gitanilllas will be once of the first venues that I patronize for my lite snack and beverages with authority when I visit Estepona next year.
