OMG! What a fantastic place! It is so hard for me to give a 5 star review because not many places of this caliber seem worthy of it. They seem almost held to a higher standard in my mind because of what they are. They are opulent fine dining and so they should just be perfect right? If there are Tesla's, Ferrari, and Aston Martin's everywhere you should just expect perfection right?
I understand that as an American I am used to a different kind of service, I guess... Fast acknowledgement and really attentive is what I would call it when out dining in a $$$$ restaurant. On our visit's it wasn't that they were slow or uncaring, just different... We never really had a "server" that I could identify as "our server". We had a team of people that seemed to all have a different role in our service. One brought water and drinks, another brought menu's, another took our order, and yet another served our food when it was ready. When he delivered my food he said something inaudible and I agreed. I can only assume that meant dress my dish for me. He removed the bones from my Lamb Shoulder and plated it for me. He seemed to be the professional food presentation guy as I watched him serve several people around us various dishes. He had the precision of a surgeon when serving the fish dishes cooked in rock salt.
On to the food! This is where this place stood out! They brought out a nice crispy vegetable appetizer when they served the bread. (The Naan bread was amazing BTW)
We had the Tiger Prawn Cocktail to start and wow is all I can say. Big giant Prawns in a layered cocktail type sauce. I have no idea what the sauce was but wow. I could have eaten 4 of these dishes and just left. It was that good. We also tried the Tandoori Chicken Wing Lollipops on another (lunch) visit and they were good but nothing like the Prawns.
My wife ordered the Surf and Turf (Filet and Lobster). It was served with fresh veggies. The Lobster was pulled from the tail and served atop the Filet. She seemed to really enjoy it and commented about how good it was. I was totally distracted by my own food.
On to my Lamb Shoulder! This is one of the best pieces of meat I have ever had. It was tender, juicy, full of flavor, and well... amazing! It was served with a Red Wine sauce, and Chimuchurri sauce, and the best damn Béarnaise sauce I have ever had. I reluctantly added the Béarnaise sauce to the Lamb not want to detract anything from the meat but as I tasted it I could not help but keep adding more and more to my plate. It was sooo good! I ate every single bite of it and didn't even care that I was about to explode from gluttony. My Wife couldn't finish her steak so I tried a bite of hers; it wasn't even in the same ballpark as the Lamb. It wasn't bad; it just wasn't nearly as divine as my Lamb.
As I stated earlier, the service was strange and almost kept me from giving 5 stars. We waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged for drinks and another 10 for the check. Everything in between drove the 5 star review home! read more
