Our spot on Del Beach right in front of Hotel Coronado.

The only reason we came to this beach is to reminisce our wedding after 1 year. We found a great little picnic bench but sadly the bartender was very rude. It was our first time buying some drinks here and if most definitely be our last, the Surf Bar bartender made sure of that. Luckily the weather is perfect and our beach lounging neighbors are so friendly. It's also good to see careful social distancing and to actually see people's faces after so long.

Island Breeze cocktail ($22). Pic looks great, but it tasted horrible (overly sweet/weird fruit & alc combination)

Not worth it. I got the Island Breeze cocktail and it was overly sweet while also having an unpleasant alcohol taste at the end (aka the combination of the fruitiness and the alcohol just didn't go well together). What's more, the drink costed $22. Although drinking cocktails on the beach seemed ideal and the picture that I took looks beautiful, it was a horrible experience; i.e. sand got in the drink, the drink itself was unpleasant to down, and it was expensive. Unless you desperately need this picture for an "I'm so cool IG post," this place is a "no-go"

Cali vibe. I promise that the bar was playing The Beach Boys.

Nice location. Nice view. Laid back beach vibe and atmosphere with California prices. Located close to historic Hotel del Coronado. 1). Drinks. Limited selection of wine and spirits. Limited food options. Very expensively priced. Ordered regular red wine and it cost about a bottle of a decent red. 2). Customer Service. Good and laid back. Goes well with the area. Very quick and attentive. 3). Atmosphere. Beach vibe. You will get the vacation feel while chilling out. This is what makes this location very good. 4). Others. Unless you are staying in the hotel, there is very limited parking. You can use their beach tables and chairs with your order. Can get cold when the wind is howling. Good vibe. Go here for the atmosphere. 3* because this is an average location really. It reminds me of a vacation without being on vacation. 2 less * for the very expensive price and for very limited parking.

Absolutely rude! Martin and Tyler gave poor service with a bad attitude. Not accommodating in any way. When we went back to the bar 10 minutes after ordering a couple drinks, waiting in line again, Martin's response was "What? I did not take your order man!" Go somewhere else. Vacationers want to have a good time not feel disregarded by nasty employees! Clearly they don't want business. In addition the served a nasty grisly taco. See the photo.

Shrimp tacos were great. Yellow tail was a bit dry and the drinks are ok. Only seating is in the sun. Quick spot for a bite and a drink. Nothing really more. Not too exciting, but not bad at all.

I love you San Diego!!! We are seriously blessed to be living in America's Finest City. Perfect day to bake under the sun with Ramona! had lots of fun tanning in our itty bitty bikinis on the sand. then we continued baking on the fake grass located in front of hotel del where we watched children play and couples be romantic. So cute and relaxing.

Hands down my favorite bar in San Diego. Where else can you bring your pup to have a drink, watch the sunset and listen to live music at the beach? Love Jeff and Steve and they are always taking care of us even on the busiest days. Ask Jeff to make you a margarita and don't miss out on the shrimp taco either.

We are staying at the Glorietta Bay Inn in Coronado right across from Hotel Del. You don't have to be a guest of the hotel to use this beach set-up service! Full bar with yummy specialty cocktails available plus a limited beach menu (see pic). You can choose the "bed" half-moon canopy or the two single lounge chair canopy. Loved the bed! We played cards and relaxed! Felt private! They also provide beach toys for the kids as an added service.

The food is good I guess. The wagyu taco had a nice flavor and the greens with the sauce made it work. I don't think it's actually wagyu, but the word is pretty much meaningless at this point. For the crust, I found it to be way too chewy rather than light and flaky. I couldn't even cut it with my spoon anymore and had to pick up a long thing of crust and pull it apart with my teeth. I will allow that the gravy and other contents are bland and generic since if it had as much flavor as I actually want, other customers will be complaining about it. But the crust I cannot forgive. Overall it was not bad though. Surprisingly, my favorite item was the brussels sprouts. Even with all the seasoning and cheese, I found the flavor to be well balanced. Even after most of the plate, I noticed I didn't find it too salty. I really like the menus in the crappy brown folders. I think they might've also done it because it's easy and cheap, but it works well with the aesthetic they have.

My "old review" for "this place" was for a completely different business at the Del. Not sure how…read morethe ice cream store got moved into the sun deck. But today I ate at the pool, with food brought from the sun deck. Times were pretty slow and it's not cheap. But my wahoo sandwich was delicious. And it's a luxury to eat it at the pool. Beautiful view. Everything else was a joke…read more We're locals and don't usually come to the sun deck. It's typically packed with kids and tourists, but it was a beautiful day and we wanted ocean views without the drive. We grabbed a corner spot with a $175 minimum, easy to hit when the menu is priced like everything was flown in from Monaco. Water: asked three times, never came. The fourth time we finally got it, and only because the manager dropped it off himself after my husband spoke to him. Water is the bare minimum. It shouldn't feel like a favor. The food came out in five minutes. Five. That's not a kitchen, that's a heat lamp. Lukewarm at best, some of it cold. The giveaway: they brought us a kids' chicken fingers plate, realized we'd ordered the adult portion, took it back, then sprinted off to grab the bigger version. That's a steam tray with a hostess. And the lobster Cobb? The lobster was cut into little circles. Circles. Lobster has never been a circle. The servers moved around like expressionless robots. When my husband politely asked to speak with the manager privately, out of respect for the staff, the manager came over looking like he couldn't care less. Somehow the service got worse after that. He comped a burger and one other item. We still walked out near $175. The cherry on top? His apology was throwing his own employee under the bus. "Yeah, he's had a lot of complaints lately." That's not a manager. That's Gossip Girl with a clipboard. Be a leader. Handle it behind the scenes. This is exactly why the staff is the way they are because leadership comes from the top and if that's broken the whole operation is broken. We left and went to The Dive rooftop at The Bower Hotel. Sat down, and within a minute someone dropped off water. We sat there genuinely grateful, which is when it hit us how badly we'd been treated. Save your $175. The view is free!!!!!

The ordering and beer shack is made to look appropriately rustic and the sign post is appropriately thematic, see my pics. As you can see from my pic I was lucky enough to be there at a slow time. My canned beer came out in so-so time. But the staff was somewhat harried and short tempered. I ordered my fish taco, and I didn't realize it was made and had to be picked up at a different shack - which is around the corner from where I placed my order. So they had to tell me twice (I didn't see the small white sign down the alley: so you don't get snapped at I have a pic of where the food is prepped and picked up.) There were 2 taco orders ahead of mine, yet it took 15 minutes to serve my taco. I'm glad I waited there - they yell your name at the alley, I'm not sure it could be heard at the beach and over the live music. Please take a look at my $8.50 fish taco. While there was a plentiful amount of fish, the seasoning was incredibly salty. Also the fish was tough. I did liked the guac on top and rest the was fresh.
