This is for all the neighbors that live next door to Dehart roofing customers. Customers you are being forewarned that Mrs. Dehart does not care about your neighbors yards or property! Here is a message that i have attempted to send to Mr Dehart. Not sure if he will get it or if he will care either! Please read below: This message is for Mr. Dehart; Your wife is not very understanding when it comes to roofing homes with zero property lines. When I went out to my back yard this morning there was debri all over my patio furniture. Luckily no glass was broken because there was a table that was knocked over that had a glass item on it and it was resting against the wall waiting to fall onto the cement. I have pets and I would have hated to have them stepping in glass. Also, the cover of my hot tub had old roofing material all over it ( they could have covered that up with a plastic tarp, but they did not!). I called and very nicely tried to suggest that the neighbor should be notified that there will be falling debri in their yard! That way they can have an opportunity to move their items that may be in danger of getting damaged! Well... Before I could even finish explaining myself she interrupted me and said it was not her problem. That they do not go around knocking on people's doors to tell them they are roofing the neighbors property when there are zero property lines. Then in the next breath she tells me that the guys will clean it up later... Mr. Dehart, can you please tell me how they are supposed to get into my back yard without my permission to clean it up? Wouldn't they have to knock on my door for that? I bet if it was her patio furniture getting debri all over it, it would be a different story!!! She was very unprofessional and all she could say was that she did not want to argue with me. I was trying to make my point! She was so rude and never did offer to have the workers come over and move my stuff out of the way to finish the part of the roof that was not torn off yet. Thankfully your team that you have out here was much nicer than your wife and came and moved my furniture before they tore off the rest of the roof. Hopefully you will get this message because she should not be answering your phones with an attitude like that! Please keep surrounding home owners in mind when dealing with zero property lines, that's all I'm asking! read more

This review is long past due. We hired DeHart Roofing to replace our La Grange roof back in Spring 2019. We hired DeHart based on the good/not so good Yelp reviews. Prior to hiring DeHart, I spoke to Larry, the owner, over the phone, and before that I received some information about the company in the mail. I'm glad I didn't base my decision solely on the not so good reviews. Before I knew it, the roof was installed and we were completely satisfied and extremely happy with the quality and professionalism presented by DeHart and company. I was even happier when DeHart mentioned that they install decks too. We had the pleasure of meeting Larry for the first time to explain the quote for the deck. Larry considers the best interest of customer and also gave us very good recommendations on the deck design. Without a doubt, we also hired DeHart to replace our decks and are very pleased as well with the work. I would hire DeHart again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend DeHart Roofing. read more

After getting several bids to have our roof replaced, Larry came to give an estimate. He not only looked at the roof, he explained why my roof was bad and took the time to show me problems. He was given the job. His showed up at the arranged time with two crews. They started work at 7am and were completely finished at 12pm. They even repaired places with dry rot at The eves. Not happy about with DeHart roofing. First time Larry came out very nice fixed what problem was. Had to call again tree branch fell on roof had tiles brake. Larry said he be out but then sent someone else. This person blew off tree debris then started to fix tiles. He used tiles from my patio. Was there there 40 mins. Got statement for $$$$. Had another issue week later called Larry. First thing out of his mouth was didn't u get my statement? Said yes , I said I had another leak but wanted him to come out and check on this leak and we talk about Bill. He never once asked about new leak just wanted to talk about bill. He became very rude and was talking very nice to me..has bad attitude lousy costumer service come pair to first call. Will not us him again. read more

My wife and I have been Realtors for 30 years and have been introduced to a lot of roofing companies over the span of our careers. We called and received 5 bids from companies we had dealt with over the years and Dehart Roofing was head and shoulders the right choice. John came out on the day and time he said he would arrive, bid our job and answered all our questions. Over the next 2 weeks while we waited for others to show up at their leisure to bid the job we received at least 3 calls from Dehart roofing simply asking us if there was anything they could do to earn our business. In the end many of the bids were literally many thousands more! We chose Dehart Roofing and are we glad we did. The crew that came out to our home were amazing, headed up by Clayton the crew was incredible as they truly worked as a team to get my old shingle roof off and put our new beautiful Presidential roof on in 2 days! Can't say enough great things about this crew and when they left the place was spotless. My wife and I highly recommend this company, their service, people and pricing are the best! read more

I need a new roof so I called this company to get an estimate they told me it's going to cost $7,500 plus $1,500 for extra wood that would need to put on the roof I was really happy with the estimate but then when I told him that I'm going through a program that is financing me for this roof they told me that the price is going to go up to $11,000 because it cost $2,000 for office work the owner of this company said he has to pay his secretary and everybody in the office because I'm going through a financial company that is more work for them I would not recommend this company to anybody very shady read more

UPDATE: Over the last few years, we have been occasionally contacted by the company about our low review on Yelp, hoping that they could do something to fix the situation and received a revised review. However, despite the verbal promises, they have never followed through. Today, someone from the company showed up at our house unannounced, demanding accessing to the roof for a "final inspection." Our roof was finished in 2015... They will be lucky if my husband doesn't file a police report for coming on to our property. Original Post 11/28/2015: We unfortunately had MANY problems with this company that came highly rated. They had issues with communication (we had to call the owner anytime we wanted to actually speak to a person and not a voice mail in order to get information), with scheduling (we never knew when we would be scheduled or when they would come back out to finish the job - in fact they still haven't despite the fact that they started it at the end of September...). They insisted we pay them for the unfinished job, and said that they would be back to finish the last few things, so we paid them over $9,000 and they still haven't comeback to finish the job and it's the end of November. I am super disappointed with my experience. While the roof looks great, I know it is unfinished and am not pleased with the company. Our gutters leak and some shingles are messed up and need replacing (the roofers messed them up by walking on them while it was hot). read more

I would avoid using this company. I requested an estimate, which took a while to get. Got the estimate and decided to use them. I was told they were scheduling about 4 weeks out, which was ok. 2 weeks later I get a call from the "Owner" who said he had bad news. Turns out whatever employee did the estimate did not take into account that the home was an hour and a half from their office. The owner felt that was too far for the crew to travel, stating, "I don't want to pay them to drive 3 hrs a day to do the job." So now I have no roofer. I think I dodged a bullet. It looks to me like the employees and owner are not on the same page which is not a good way to run a business. read more

If you reading this please know I am not trying to do a hatchet job. But do not pay DeHart in full until they have had the city complete the inspection. Dehart retooled our home in October of 2015. I worked in construction having done many roof repairs and the work was minimal at best and they were unable to properly install the ridge vent technology that is so popular. You can read that review. Since then they have offered to pay us back some of our money to upgrade the review. I agreed but never received a reimbursement so left my old review. Today February 8 2018 an employee showed up unannounced. He did not knock on the door or ring the doorbell. He but his later against the house and began climbing onto my roof. I ran out and challenged his actions it. He said Dehart had never had a final inspection performed on my roof. As a result it can prevent sale of my home. I payed them in total because they said the work was complete. Obviously a lie. Better yet if Dehart has not started work on your home just avoid them al together. There are a lot of great roofing companies out there. DeHart is just not one of them. read more

We had two houses reroofed by DeHart Roofing eight years ago. We paid just short of $20,000. for the two roofs. This year we needed new rain gutters installed. We called someone that a neighbor recommended. Well, they came out and let us know that the edge flashing had been placed in the wrong place, on top of the felt rather than under it. We then called Larry De Hart and asked him what we were supposed to do about this. He acted like it wasn't a big deal, but said he would make it right. We continued with the process of having the gutters replaced, having the gutter guys carefully remove the flashing. Which we paid extra for. When the gutters were done we called Larry De Hart to have his guys come and redo the flashings. He now acted like we were in the wrong for having the gutter men remove the misplaced flashings. He now refused to stand behind his word, when he had told us he would make it right the week before. The conversation got a bit heated when he told us he was not responsible. My husband called him back the next day and said he thought that we had all just had a bad day the day before and asked to meet with him. He didn't even have the decency to return our call. We would not recommend De Hart Roofing for the reason that they do not stand behind their work or their word. I also find it curious that Odis gave De Hart a great review when Julie M. mentions someone named Odis who works for De Hart! read more

I give DeHart Roofing a big fat ZERO. I called on 12/15 and explained my roof was leaking into my house and I was desperate for someone to come out. They said they were extremely busy, which I understand, as it was storming but would have someone out the next morning. I called this morning at 8:00 and left a voice mail message and asked if someone could give me a call with a time frame of when they would be out. Well it is now 4:00 in the afternoon and I am still waiting for a phone call or for someone to show up to look at the roof. DeHart Roofing was recommended to me so I thought I was in good hands. Well needless to say, DeHart Roofing shows to common courtesy. I would have even appreciated a phone call saying they would not make it out. At least I could have tried to get someone else out here. So here I sit with a leaky roof and another storm on the way. Thanks DeHart Roofing for showing what you think of customer service. Will make sure your are never on my list of recommendations when someone needs roof repairs. read more

If it was an option I would have done minus stars in rating this company. I waited 5 months from the date of contract for them to show up to do my roof. The day they were to begin I received a call from Larry, who I assume is the owner, and was told they could not do my roof. The reason given was the condition of the existing roof and the roof mounted air conditioner. These two conditions existed when the roof was inspected originally for the bid. Now five months later it's a problem? Obviously I was upset. Larry felt it much more important to accuse me of "not getting it" than it was to try and talk out and resolve the issue. I would caution anyone considering this company to read this review as well as the others. This company is bad news from start to finish! read more

We had a roof leak and needed the roof repaired ASAP. DeHart Roofing not only came out quickly to do the repairs, but was hundreds of dollars cheaper than another roof company that gave us a bid! They were professional and honest (showed us pictures of before and after)! They even dealt with my husband talking their ear off! I agree with the other reviews. Our experience with DeHart roofing was not professional or ethical. He did respond to our call on a leaky roof during a storm. We did appreciate that. He took a quick look at the leak and gave us an off the cuff estimate as to what it would cost to make sure it didn't leak any further. When the roofer from DeHart came out to make the repairs a few days later, he just spent a couple hours worth of time. It was clear Larry's "estimate" was VERY conservative as to what it would actually cost him to do the work. Instead of just charging us what it took to get the job done, he charged us what he quoted and would not budge on the price. A quote is just that, a quote. If it costs more, customer pays more. If it costs less, the customer pays less. Right?? Not with DeHart Roofing. I'm sorry to say we will not do business with this company again and will not recommend this company to others either. read more
