    Pad Thai

Randomly looked for a local find for lunch. Saw a Thai restaurant nearby and figured I try it. It's in a warehouse style building with other food options - order from a kiosk and it submits to the right restaurant. The pad Thai was just..alright, not really flavorful, which isn't the worst thing. But I asked for really hot spice level (3/4) and there is absolutely no heat in it at all. Like Thai food is suppose to have heat imo. So really missed the mark for me.

It's an order at front and then they bring the food to your table. Dumplings starter followed by the OG Shrimp Pad Thai. Enjoyed both. The Dumplings were subtle & Pad Thai was not too sweet. Tasty food, quick friendly service, cozy laid back atmosphere.

Amazing Thai food! The menu was clearly marked for us gluten free people! They were extremely busy, but served people quickly. Parking is tight, so just be ready. I highly recommend.

This was genuinely the best pad thai I've ever had. I convinced my coworkers to try this place with me because I've heard nothing but raving reviews and it always came up on my tiktok. I was not disappointed at all in fact I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes the fast service and the beautiful interior of the restaurant. I can genuinely say this was one of my best lunch dates thus far and my coworkers said the same thing. I ordered the chicken pad thai and a thai tea and it was more than enough food to last me two days and I loved every bit!!! I'll be back matter of fact i'm on the way now lolll

Uuggh the only I wish I would have done was to actually eat at the restaurant than taking it to go because after seeing other people plated food I was a little jelly. Regardless my food was amazing fresh and packed with flavor. Definitely two meals for me in one portion. I have no complaints on this meal. My sister thought the curry said the too spicy for her but I love a good kick to my meal and with the Jay special they do ask your level of heat you would like. Thank you Degthai

My boyfriend took me there for the first time, it was pretty busy but we didn't take long to wait to get our order, the employees are all nice and very friendly. It was very crowded but the busters cleaned the tables really quick so we didn't have to wait to get a seat. The food was delish. 10/10 recommend

Heard about this place on TikTok, saying it was the best Thai Food in Nashville. Disappointingly, my experience here did not live up to that standard. I can't comment on the service because it is self-service eating, but I will be talking about the food. This location is in Midtown, within a shared kitchen building so you're able to order from multiple restaurants. Most people come in for doordash/to-go. I chose to come here knowing I was only looking to dine by myself, get my food, eat, then leave. I ordered Pad Thai, one of my favorite foods to eat. It was subpar, the noodles were not soft and the sauce was dry and completely unsweet. However, the chicken and veggies were good. Very well portioned, could be split between two people. Safe to say, I will not be returning for their pad thai, definitely would recommend others to try other dishes however.

Lots to pick from, including Pho in a Thai restaurant. However, not sure if it was missed by our server, but the spice level (we got everything on a level 4 out of 5) was nowhere to be found/noticed. Pretty sure it was not spicy at all, we all added the chili oil which helped tremendously. On the other hand, protein was minimal. The portion was underwhelming and especially the chicken in the curry and shrimp in the fried rice. Lastly, the Thai iced tea felt more "sweet/sugary" rather than being actual tea. My personal rating: 3.8/5

The…read morebase of vegetable broth mixed with coconut milk was creamy yet not heavy (with a blend of yellow and red curry spices, according to the menu -- sadly I am not that well versed in curries!). The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.

The hardest part about eating at Degthai is beelining to the Tiew Gang Vegan. (BTW, I am not Vegan, yet I LOVE the Tiew Gang Vegan.) They do everything well - the other curries, the standard noodle dishes, the dumplings - and it can be tempting to just go with your regular go-to dish like Pad Thai w/Chicken (BORRRINGG, but they do it well nonetheless.) You've gotta try the Tiew Gang Vegan. It's truly a once-in-a-year of eating out experience finding a dish this incredible. It competes pound-for-pound in the same heavy hitter weight class as the best Pho, Ramen, Jjamppong, or Beef Noodle Soup you've ever had. I've now been to Degthai 10 times, and have gotten the Tiew Gang Vegan the last 5 times in a row.

The Soup Dumplings were just as amazing, but the Roti Canai (Malaysian flatbreads with curry sauce) stole the show. The curry was rich with the perfect amount of spice. You're missing out if you skip the appetizers here. For my entrée, I ordered the Hong Kong Wonton Noodle Soup, and all I can say is wow. The broth and tender wontons were the perfect combination. My boyfriend loved his Pad Thai as well, and the only downside was the portion size for the price. I want to give a huge shoutout to our server, Jaylen, for making the experience top-notch. He was incredibly attentive, patient, and offered great recommendations through the night. Hawkers is on my list for date nights, ladies' nights, or a casual evening out (especially for drinks and appetizers!)
