i have change my view of Bob at first things were not good but he has redeemed himself by following up and keeping his promise to me.

This company has really bad reviews on yelp. So I was so worried before making decision. As a through person I chose this company with a few reasons. 1. The owner, Mr.Bob was in this field a few decades. 2. It's a small company runs by family like employees who are with company many years . 3. The company is not a giant company which means less overhead. 4. The installer ,Mr.Martin is just great, knowledgeable & professional, and friendly exactly what google review said.(this is the biggest part affected my decision) 5. Not surprised to see their low ratings and unprofessionalism. They have been harassing me non-stop with telemarketing calls and one of their representatives even called me an explicit name after the 5th phone call when I told them to stop calling my phone the first time they called. This company replaced our unit and IMMEDIATELY our attic was flooded. They half way repaired the damage they caused then within 2 years we were having issues. Come to find out, not only did they install our coil BACKWARDS, causing issues, they scheduled an appointment MORE THAN ONCE to have the tech come out and look at it and never showed and stopped communicating with me! They are a scam company. They do poor work at best and are unprofessional. read more

This review is in 2 parts... I have no complaints about the service. The company was hired on short notice to install a new A/C unit that was split between the outdoors and crawlspace. They managed to secure the unit and have it installed within 2 days. (With only 8 hours, or so, on site for the install). The unit works as advertised and I'm not dying in the AZ summer heat. In normal times, my review would end there with 5 stars and I'd move on with my day... These aren't normal times. If you are covid conscious, there are issues. While all people on site had a mask/face covering of sorts, I continually caught them with masks down in the house. Now, they'd put them back on when requested but would seemingly take them off shortly after I turned by back again. I'm not unconscious of the fact that it's sweltering up in crawlspaces and it's awful to work in a heated environment with the facial coverings, but right now it's quite literally putting site residents (and crew) at risk to not wear them. As someone with underlying conditions, and someone that continually stated that I'd been to a covid funeral within the previous 24 hours, there's no reason why it should've felt like a battle to ensure my safety (and theirs). As people that are constantly in and out of residences, and therefore constantly exposed/exposing, this just isn't acceptable. So, the overall review is just that... great work on a timeline, but cannot fully recommend based on pandemic safety concerns. read more

After a thorough inspection they gavel us a great quote and despite some real issues that arose, they stuck by the bid and were very cordial during the removal and installation process. I have Choice Home Warranty who are great. They sent a dispatch to have an Air Conditioning Company to come to my house to fix my unit. No air from one of them. You have to wait 24 hrs. Well, I get information that it is going to be Degree Air Conditioning and Heating between 8 am to 3 pm. Wait all day and around 3 pm I call them. The owner picks up and I ask him if they are coming. He hadn't a clue. He asked me if I had two air conditioners, I said yes. He said well, "you aren't very serious" you can stay in other rooms. I told him the main part of the house is where we need to be not the bedrooms. So I said "you aren't coming then." He says we will be there between 8 am and 3 pm tomorrow! I unwillingly said okay. I asked him a question, and he said to me "I ain't got no time to answer questions!" No shit. I called Choice Home Warranty today and they were very pissed off about these guys. They told me it didn't matter whether I had 2 or 6 air conditioners, they are suppose to go when they set the appointment. Needless to say Choice Home Warranty filed a complaint against them. The owner is lazy and sounded all slurry on the phone and didn't care. I will never use them even if it IS AN EMERGENCY, they won't get my work. If you look at other websites of people who have filed complaints against them it was mainly because they don't show up!!!!!! exactly what was going to happen to me yesterday had I not called them. read more

I was hooked up with Degree through my home warranty company. Bob and another gentlemen came to my house and were pleasant and fixed a clogged condensation line for me. They were thorough and got the job done correctly. They didn't try and make it a quick fix. I appreciated all the effort they went through to make sure the job was done right and didn't put a band aid on it. I've had bad experiences with multiple AC companies, but had a great experience with Degree! Would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends/family. read more

Pretty similar experience as Tony T. I have Choice Home Warranty as well. Spoke to Bob with Degree on Monday night and agreed over the phone for someone to come out on Wednesday. Then on Tuesday I was notified that a different company would be coming out instead. This is because the technician with Degree was supposedly not able to confirm a scheduled appointment. read more

After waiting three days for any response from our warranty company (it was 90 plus in the house) we again called Select Home Warranty to complain and they told us to call someone as they they couldn't get in touch with their service provider. Can you believe it!! They told us to contact another service supplier ourselves and they would approve the claim. We called Degree and Ryan came right out and immediately found the issue (missed by the warranty company's two prior service companies), He and I then called the warranty company and he explained the system failure issue and surprise, they declined to cover the service. ( I'll take that up with a manager in the morning) I told Ryan to just proceed with the repair as we were not sleeping another night in 90 plus temps. He couldn't have been nicer and more professional, pointing out were the failure had occurred and then pretested the unit prior to initiating the repair to insure that he had in fact found the problem, which he had. The service took about three hours and he then waited around to make certain everything was working correctly. He also left us the defective part in case the warranty company requested it. Frankly, what more could you want from the guy. He did mention that it was difficult in general for home owners working with home warranty companies as they often switch providers at the last minute and or regularly refuse coverage. His frustration was that clients often end up blaming the service provider and not the warranty company. We had the same home warranty issues with our CA home. Would certainly use Ryan again, though hopefully we wont need to for some time. read more

Our A/C went out last night. Actually, the A/C unit was working, our thermostat was, too. However, we were not getting any air into the house. Rather than calling late at night for service, which would have been really expensive to have a house call at that time, we opted to wait until morning. At 7 am, I called the same people my father used, but I got the answering service. They said they would call back within 15 minutes. It was a bit longer. In the meantime, I went through my ValuPak coupons and found Degree A/C & Heating Services along with 2 other companies. Called the first company and they couldn't get me in until late this evening. Then, I called Degree and spoke with the owner, Bob, who immediately answered his cell phone. He said they could come out this morning. The house was starting to warm up, but I could wait. He had a couple other calls he had to do first before me. But, a little after 7:45 am, Chad, one of his technicians, called me and said he was a few minutes away. He was at my home by 8 am. Told him what was happening and he asked where the attic was. Went up there and assessed that it was a bad circuit board. My unit is a Carrier and about 17 yrs old. He gave me a quote of $750 for everything out the door: parts, labor, the service call, 1 year parts & labor warranty. My husband wanted a second opinion, so I called the company my dad used and they said it was a fair price. I also checked here on Yelp, Google, and a couple other places, as well as the BBB. No issues anywhere, so I think if a business has been in business for 30 years with no complaints with the BBB or really any real negative reviews, it's fine. It really was about in the middle of what the price could be. So we gave them the go ahead to get the part and do the work. By 11:15 am, Chad was done and out of there. That includes the initial service call, going to get the part, coming back with it and installing the part. Bob said they would clean up the area of debris because our attic is in a weird spot in the house. I told them that it was fine and that my kids could vacuum. Chad put back the other things that had to be removed in order for him to get to the attic. Chad gave very personable, friendly and professional service. He seemed to know what he was doing and was efficient. Bob was fine, too, but I didn't have a lot of interaction with him other than the phone call, chatting with him a few moments when he gave me the invoice. My house is nice and cool again. I can't believe the negative reviews for this company! They have done two services for me and were always courteous and efficient. Their pricing is half of what the big guys charge for the same job. Bob even told me how to fix a heating problem over the phone with NO CHARGE!!! Something another company would have billed me at least $300 for. They would not... so Dave and Bob tried hard to make this painless though we knew that the warranty company ripped us off. Bob provided the service at a reduced rate to take some of the sting away. My experience with Ryan and Degree was great. I don't understand negative reviews but guess not all experiences are good. My 93 yr old Mom and I moved into our new house Wednesday December 3rd. No heat. I called Choice Home Warranty. Due to type of unit with Freon first tech sent on Friday couldn't do anything. Degree tech came out on Monday and found the wrong compressor had been put in, probably last year. Well Choice warranty didn't want to cover it. I'm still appealing. Not my fault sellers messed up repairs. Inspected before closing and unit worked. Anyhow Ryan gave me a great out the door price with guarantee if it ended up being more I wouldn't pay more. They got unit installed today and we're toasty warm now. Being in Arizona people might think it doesn't get cold but yeah it does. Thin blood so 65 inside is cold. 30's-40's overnight. And temps dropping more this week. Overall great experience and I felt cared about. My Mom is warm now too. read more

I am more than happy to give a five star review to Degree Air Conditioning & Heating Services. They did an outstanding job replacing the 43 year old furnace and 21 yr old air conditioner in my mobile home. I knew they both were on their last legs and when I heard an ominous sound from the furnace, I knew I had to do something. Not only were they on their last legs, the wiring from my house to the electrical connection needed to be replaced before my house burned down. I can't say enough good things about their knowledge and work ethic. I know that the house has the safest and best equipment for a long time to come. Bob and Ryan were a pleasure to work with and I would recommend them to anyone. An issue came up after I moved and they got it resolved to everyone's satisfaction. read more

Worst company we've ever dealt with! They came out b/c of home warranty. The entire time the guy was there he was trying to sell us a new unit and was VERY negative. I called them 8-10 times before they came and never got a return call or text. He wrote our report up in a way to befit himself so that we would be forced to use him. We are now dealing with having to appeal a report with Choice Home Warranty because of them. I'm disappointed that our home warranty would use such business. Very poor company. Had an appointment scheduled more than 1-month out. They called 2-days prior to confirm. Day of appointment they called after the scheduled time and indicated they do not service this area. Was told an exception would be made and they would be out the following day. They did not show. They were assigned by First American Home Warranty. I called them this this past Monday to set up an appointment and the person I spoke with, I believe his name is Mark, said that he was not in the office and couldn't see any of the incoming work orders. So I asked if there was an office number that I should call instead to set up the appointment to which he replied "No, I am the office." He told me that he would call me back when he got into the office. I received a voicemail from him Tuesday afternoon and called back as soon as I was able, which was around 6pm that afternoon, and I left a voicemail with him. He called me this morning, Wednesday, around 7:45am to set up a time to come out and look at the air conditioner. He said that a tech would be out between 8am and noon. He told me that they would call when they were on their way. So I said ok and took the time off so I could be home when the tech came. Well noon came and went and I never heard anything from the tech, not even a call to say that they were running behind. So I called to check and see what was going on. The same person who I have been speaking to, Mark, answered and said that he would end up being the one to come out sometime this afternoon. I asked if there was a time estimate so that I could make sure that everything would be in order on my end (i.e picking kids up and making sure someone is home when they get here). He told me that he would be out here possibly around 4pm. So I said "Ok, 4pm?". To which his reply was, "First you need to calm down. I told you that someone would be out there to take care of work but you keep calling us and bothering us. If you keep bothering us then I will just reassign your work order to a different contractor. We have work to do and when you keep calling you are bothering us." and then he hung up on me. I don't think I have ever been yelled at over the phone for simply following up with a contractor when they didn't arrive in the time window they provided. I called the one time this afternoon to follow up as no one came during the time they said they would come. I immediately called the home warranty company and had them reassign the work order to another contractor. This company has horrible customer service and has no problem treating you like garbage. I would stay as far away from them as you can. *Edit- I have since spoken to the owner of this business who has just as poor customer service as his technician. When I called to express my dissatisfaction he proceeded to tell me that he was taking his technicians side and how my generation is impatient (of course not knowing my age but assuming) and that if people can't handle the heat then they should not live in Arizona. Eventually I had another company come Hughes Air Heating & Cooling from Mesa, they found a problems with an expansion valve, several air leaks in the intake. In general the the repairman from Hugh's repaired a lot of small issues before even attempting to diagnose and was able to make an accurate assessment about the condition of the unit. I decided to replace the unit rather then make the repairs due to the age and condition. 3 days later Hughes replaced my unit with a new Trane system in under 6 hours. Everyone I talked to from Hughes was professional, clean and took the time to accurately describe the problems with my unit. Degree, you just lost close to $10k in business. read more

I have been using Bob and Degree AC for several years and have found them to be reliable and excellent at their work. They originally corrected a faulty installation of a new unit installed by another contractor and since that time they have been performing service every six months under a contract. If I don't call them, they call me. If they make an appointment and there is a problem they call you to keep you appraised of their schedule - not like most service contractors who hang you up. They have just completed a duct sealing of my entire system They were clean and efficient and it has resulted in stopping almost 20% of my conditioned air from escaping into the ceilings. Hello All, We were looking to replace our air-conditioning unit as they were very old (22 years). We received many quotes from many installer but most of them were suggesting TRANE but Bob recommended us RHEEM. Now when you reach on it, you will hear good and bad on both thus it your choice on which brand to trust. I have chosen Rheem. So far I am happy with the choice but it is only fist week. I will come back to update from review in 6 months. But they part in all what the way Ryan and Bob did their job. on Communication front, They were quick in responses and good to their time and commitment. On Installation where Ryan and Bob have scored big marks. 1. Our condenser old-unit were kept on ground. Bob recommended that you shall place the unit on elevated platform and we will provide you that. I can see the clear advantage of his installation as condenser sits above ground and thus will not rust as quickly. 2. my old unit condensation line outlet was at higher height then the new unit, which require them to do additional work to install new line to get the condensation out. At first like any other, they recommended to add additional pump and pump the water out. But that would have been another moving parts which I did not want. I can see from their voice they did not believe that it was a good solution. Just upon one request they agreed to do the additional work to install new line out by saying it will take us 2-3 hours of extra work, please judge it accordingly. It was a good gesture. I paid them a little extra but i got quality work. 3. On cleanliness: they cleaned to original after they left each day. 4. Installation a little difficult than expected which require them to come additional but they did not rush instead took their time to do the job right. I would highly recommend you Degree Air-conditioning as the key for me was they carry a BBB logo on their car which gave me confidence that they value customer satisfaction and quality. read more

If I could give this company 0 stars I would! I can't believe that this company is still in business with the way they treat their customers. I put in a call through my home warranty for service on my A/C on an early Sunday morning. Was told I would hear from the contractor in 24 hours. I called later that afternoon to confirm he had received the request and was told it would be Wed/Thurs before he could come. No call on Wed, so I called Thursday. The finally showed up on Friday. The repair lasted 8 hours and then was broken again. I called him back and he told me to call back in the morning because they don't work 24/7. I called back the next morning (when they were open) and was told he was on a skeleton crew due to the holiday weekend and he had a few calls and he would call me after that. It was 5 days before I heard back from him!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? IT'S AZ IN THE SUMMER! As a recall to the repair, I should have been at the top of his list! I ended up going elsewhere and had someone out here in 30 minutes from the time I called!!! Now that is customer service! read more

Good old boy Bob is using service warranty co. as a way to get customers. After several days without air in july finally showed up saturday at about 11:30 only to inform me that he didn't have any feron and all service dept were now closed for the weekend. Really you just go around with and emtpy truck.. Come back on monday morning and without any equipment to check anything. Now i have a leak in coils,my cost and the free part from the service co is 975. Called another co., oh loose wire and burned out contactor. read more

Degree Air Conditioning and Heating was dispatched by our home warranty company AHS. We've had a number of contractors sent to our home by AHS, some were losers and some were winners. Degree was one of the winners. They showed up when they said they would and worked with AHS for approval to completely replace our system. On the day they came to replace the system they arrived with all the parts they needed, completed their work within three hours and cleaned up when they were done. These people are angels !!! My home warranty company had set me up with another contractor that never showed up. Degree came ASAP and fixed the issue in 10 minutes. So after not having air conditioning for a week (of course during the hottest week we have had so far) we are finally cool !!! They were kind, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. This is by far the WORST company I have ever dealt with. I told the gentlemen about fresh paint.....less than one week old on the whole interior of our house. They left finger prints everywhere on the access panel to the attic which is inside of our house. I questioned their diagnosis and have requested a second opinion...In the meantime, our unit appears have to developed a bigger leak than before and now our ceiling downstairs is soaked and drywall is sagging.....STEER CLEAR!!! THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST!! and they have no idea what they are doing. Now I have drywall issues to contend with..If I could rate this company with a negative rating I would. THEY SUCK!! read more

Referred to them by my daughter. Put in a part that didn't fix it but said I should also get a new fan motor. The combo was over $700. He was really trying to get me to buy a new unit "out of the box", asked a few questions and he got very defensive. Not sure why he was surprised I wanted to know more if it wasn't in a box, like any halfway intelligent consumer would inquire. Glad I listened to my gut and called someone else. I didn't even need the part I was originally sold & got the fan motor for $379 (about half the cost). We're working fine now and the second guy didn't lay on any pressure for a replacement at this time. read more
