Oh, how painful having to do traffic school for a rolling stop...With the dread over my head, I signed up for Defensive Drivers Group due to their success rate of 99%. It took me 3.5 hours, all in all (including the final test) to pass. How did I do it: I followed DDG's advice of copy/pasting the material into a word document. I then also googled test answers and found one site with answers (this helped me with going through the final test with more confidence, it actually helped with 4-5 questions (out of 25). All in all, I found DDG material easy to read (no watching of videos necessary) and the 'trick questions' were easy to spot and find with the search function in my word document. OK. So I take the traffic school course offered by Defensive Driver Group and that went well. But I didn't complete it on time and that is my error. I had 2 violations within a month and a half of each other. One was for toll violation and the other was a moving violation. I took this course for the toll violation which comes to find out that it wouldn't help because there isn't a point added for this type of violation, so I've been calling Scott P. to see about transferring the course to the moving violation instead and I have gotten nothing but a run around. He sent me an email informing me that I didn't complete it in time but will NOT return my phone calls. So I basically paid for the school when I can't use it! Such a WASTE read more

This was painless. It has better interface and website site design then other sites I perused. All of the answers are common sense for the first tests, and you can always do a search for the odd phrases they throw in (command + find). I learned stuff about how to be more cautious when driving, and I am an incredibly careful driver already. The courses stresses the point we are all on the roads together and our lives are in one another's hands (and braking feet ;)). So learn well and let's keep alive. That's my pitch. I highly recommend this organization. Their traffic school course was just what I needed. It was fairly quick to complete and relatively painless. Each section's quiz had only three questions, two of which were common-sense questions. (One was involved non-driving related statement such as Dave B. wore blue shoes.) While taking the quizzes and the final, I was glad to be able to back up and check on details before giving my answers. This happened a few of times when the answer involved a specific number, such as how many feet before a turn you needed to turn on your signal or how many feet before a turn you may enter a bicycle lane. I love DDG! I was able to complete and pass the course in a few days (I took about 3 days readings a few lessons at a time) and actually learned information from this course. OK, nobody is going to say that driver's school is better than a hundred other things we could all be doing with our time, but this one is as painless as it is possible to make it. The cost was, well, cheap! You can do it on-line, in your jammies if you wish. You can do a little at a time over several days - you don't have to complete it in one sitting. And unless you are not very bright, or a really slow reader, you can get it done in less time than you would be required to spend in a live school. Just don't procrastinate, because it does take two or three hours, and if you fail the final exam twice you have to take this or another course over again, all before the deadline that the court set. So, get it done early so you don't get your back against the wall. read more

Had to take DDG because, the court here in Detroit,MI did not answer the phone and then a few months later got a card saying I missed my court date so, I was stuck paying a ticket for being 2 seconds passed a red light. ended up having to take driving school so, I wouldn't get the 3 points for a irrelevant ticket. it was easy and finished in about an hour! read more

I split up the reading into a couple of weekends, took as many breaks as I wanted, and got to stay in my pj's to do it. The course was laid out well and the quizzes were fair. They have a question on each quiz that if you read the course content you will be able to answer. I passed the final with a 92% on the first try. They had my birthdate wrong and responded to my email inquiry the following day. I found this course to be clear-cut and smooth sailing from beginning to end. The time-savings and cost-savings vs. attending a live class are significant. And it is so much more convenient to be able to do it in pieces rather than all at once. I found it helpful to jot down a few notes as I went, which I could refer back to when I took the quizzes and the final. I appreciated getting a follow up email afterwards where they confirmed that I was all set with DMV. I actually think I'm a more careful driver after the course - well, partly from what I learned, and partly from not wanting to get a ticket again! This company richly deserves a Five-Star review. I chose them because of good reviews and also because the web-site was fresh and easy to navigate. Hard to believe, but when I called with a question and left a recorded message they returned my call promptly. I expected the course to be ponderous and boring. But I found them to quite interesting and enjoyable. In fact, I know that I am a better driver after having completed the courses. The practice tests allowed you to go back and review incorrect answers very easily. My score on the final exam was a 96%. Not bad for a 73 year old. I don't have any points on my license but it is still something I wanted to do to ensure I was adhering to the rules of the road and to see if could become a safer driver. I was apprehensive in taking any drivers course to erase my 770. ticket (Not yielding to a school bus across the street)! Ugh! My bad, I shouldn't have followed the car in front who didn't stop either, alas, we were both pulled over! Stop following the leader...just saying! I hadn't had a ticket in several years, until this biggie. I was headed to airport. But anyway, I Yelped the most recommended drivers class and the Defensive Drivers Group had 5 stars ! I took this course and was able to break it up into 2 days. You can take as much time or days as you need before the final quiz. You do need to pay attention to details. Once you commit to taking the final exam, you only have 60 minutes, and 2 tries. you Need to pass @ 70%. They allow you to open the browser windows to help you refer back to the topics while taking the final exam. I passed at 92% on the 1st try. I only missed 2. I was able to take my time and completed In 4 hours within a 2 day period! read more

Was commenting to my Carpool Partner that you never see CHP on Motorcycles after dark. 20 mins later I get pulled over at night by...a Motorcycle CHP! I didn't even see him and it was a newer bike- more of the BMW style so also did not think he was a LEO until the red/blue lights came on. He was nice enough to drop my clocked "speed" down so I could attend traffic school. I have a long commute so I was long overdue for a ticket (10 years). Didn't see a notice in the mail for over a month. finally it came, I opted/paid for traffic school option. then another notice came with a url to a website of "authorized" online traffic schools. Yelp had nice reviews for DDG and they were on the massive DMV list so I opted for them. Well designed and easy to use site and content. I like to think I am up on the latest laws (3 ft Bike buffer, Wipers on-lights on, change lanes away from Emergency Vehicles on shoulder, etc..) but I swear I did not know you can be fined $100 for smoking in a car with a minor? Not that it would impact me but I was still shocked I had not heard anything about this and I think it has been a law since 2007? Anyhow- I would recommend this company, spent a few hours on a Sat Morning and knocked this out. If you fail the test it is totally on you as it is open book and most of the questions are common sense with a few that ask the A)100ft B)200ft C)300ft... type that you might have to review previous content to get. read more

Can't say enough good things about Defensive Driver's Group. They actually make going through traffic school a breeze. The course is so well written that it made it really easy to read through all of the material. I actually laughed out loud a few times and felt like I became a better and more thoughtful driver afterwards. I've used other online traffic schools in the past and they were so hard to read, nothing made sense. Defensive Driver's Group's material is well thought out, organized and signing up is super easy.
