I had my first driving sessions with Instructor Norman in 2018, and he was very patient and kind. He answered every question I had and helped me be at ease, especially since it was my first time operating a vehicle. He is definitely an instructor you would want to have if you're starting out as a new driver. 10/10 recommend!! I recently booked another 2 hour session on Saturday 7/11 to help me prepare for my behind the wheel test, which was today, 7/13. I had the privilege of being with Instructor Ron, and like Instructor Norman, answered all of my questions and he helped me boost my confidence in driving. Everything that he told me to work on, I practiced, and passed the drive test. He also encouraged me to go on the freeway--which I was TERRIFIED to do--but was constantly reassuring me that he has control of the vehicle as well and that he wouldn't ask me to do anything he knew I wasn't capable of doing, so we went and it was so exhilarating LOL loved every minute of it!! E & M Economy Driving School is the best place to have your teens learn how to drive. I have twin boys that attended the driving school. The experience from the beginning was great! I received a call back immediately to schedule their driving times. They worked it out so they were able to drive one after the other. Ron, the driving instructor was super personable and friendly. My boys were very comfortable with him and he was very patient with them. Which made all the difference in driving with teens. Btw, my twins passed their test! Ron also contacted us to find out if they passed which was very cool! Parents, don't hesitate to send your teen here! Ron and Jeff have been such a joy to work with. Ron was my daughter's instructor and he was very patient with her. He's great at his job. I don't think I would be comfortable with anyone else teaching my kids to drive. He explained what they worked on or would be working on and he let us know what my daughter needed more help with. I appreciated that type of service. My daughter took her test this week and passed! She's now a licensed driver and I know we couldn't have done it without Ron and Jeff! Ron picked her up an hour before the test and let her drive around to get the butterflies out and help her get familiar with the area she'd be tested in. I'd gone through two other instructors (from other schools), along with various family members and friends and I never felt comfortable or confident like how I did when learning with Ron. Every lesson we had felt easy-going and had time fly by - it didn't even feel like I was having a driving lesson. Somehow at the end of two hours though, I had learned so much! Whenever I called in to book an appointment, Jeff was also very helpful and courteous. By the way he asked questions and spoke, I could tell he really cared about his customers. My daughter had very little experience but, with just two sessions with Instructor Ron, she gained confidence and control. I spent the next month or two driving with her as there was another Covid surge. With her final session with Ron she was finally ready for her test - which she passed on the first try. This driving school was the Best! I mean it. Twas my 2nd drive test, first was failure. Why? I got a wrong school and paid the highest around.it was a bigger school and price is $50more! Its like ive been robbed. Anyways, my instructor here in E&M was jeff. Showed him my failed result, 2 sec look then said ok drive. Surprised on his approach. But then thats when he corrected my errors, while driving. Pretty straight forward. The previous school, i spent 30mins at parking talking with DMV rules! Next thing i know my brush up training was done. Jeff was really different. I didnt even knew hes the owner until before the exam was bout to begin. Really down to earth guy! So happy I found these guys on Yelp! I was a bit apprehensive about driving classes in general because most of my friends have had some pretty awful experiences with driving instructors. After a long time of putting off my driving classes I turned to Yelp and found E & M driving school. I first called to inquire about classes and prices, Jeff is such a nice guy, he really took his time and broke everything down for me, I never felt rushed through my questions and I never felt pressure to book something with them, but I did so anyway because I got such a good vibe from Jeff. The day of my lesson I was assigned to Kenneth. Kenneth arrived on time and he's friendly demeanor made me comfortable. We got to the driving site and even though I was nervous Kenneth walked me through everything and made me feel confident in my driving. The first day went so well that I was even able to get on the FWY! Kenneth is super professional and very patient I highly recommended this driving school. I enrolled my daughter here because it was highly recommended to me. My daughter had no confidence in her driving skills. ZERO. We had 1 lesson before COVID stay at home orders happened. So we used what she learned in the lesson to practice with. Then we were able to schedule the last 2 lessons, one in July and one in August. Each lesson by the instructors (Ron & Norman) helped her not only gain the confidence she needed, but helped her break bad habits and work on skills needed for passing her driving test. I can't recommend a driving school enough! I made my DMV appointment for today August 6th and previously I had only completed 2 of my 3 driving lessons so I needed to book my last driving lesson before the 6th. Problem was it was July 20 and I was going out of town the week before my test, and they were completely booked! Jeff later told me if I was available in half an hour he'd pick me up. I was super surprised that he would go out of his way to accommodate me, and the lesson went really well. Where do I even start? I'm so very grateful for this driving school and for their flexibility. 1) I was given to the care of Instructor Ron, and, hands down, he's a fantastic instructor! I have had no previous driving experience, so, with his help, I learned everything on the spot. He's really calm and informative- Much better than having a spastic or rude instructor- which made the whole experience enjoyable and fluid. He's pretty easy to talk to as well which was nice (It took my mind off the stress of actually driving without experience). 2) Right after my last session, I made an appointment but wasn't able to afford the drive test service until a week before the driver's test. On their site, they ask that you contact them and make an appointment two weeks in advance, but whoever emailed me was beyond kind and scheduled an appointment for me with Instructor Jeff. SO THANK YOU THANK YOU! 3) Instructor Jeff helped me today before my driver's exam, and he was more straight-forward, which I honestly appreciated. It's nice to know that these instructors won't let mistakes slip under your nose. He's extremely easy to talk to, which, again, is wonderful! All-in-all, this school is the place for you if you want instructors who are easy to talk to and can effectively guide you to passing your test like I did! I've only ever driven three times (and those three times were my sessions with Ron) AND I PASSED! So, this goes to show that these people really know what they're doing and that they are beyond exceptional. I gave myself a short time frame before taking my behind the wheel test & the school accommodated to that. They worked with my schedule and made everything hassle free. I was searching for a driving school for my 16 year old and came across E&M. I called and woke with Jeff, he explained everything in detail of what was needed. Today was our first appointment with Ron, he was on time and met with the us to explain how my son's first two hours will go. My son said Ron made him feel very comfortable, explained his mistakes and drove multiple routes. The rest of his testing will continue with Ron. When I had started out driving, everything was scary and overwhelming for me. Then my instructor Ron, one of the coolest dudes I have ever been graced to meet, showed up to my door and suddenly driving wasn't scary. It was so fun to have him around, because not only did he correct my errors and teach me techniques to do tasks that used to be so hard like parking, he became someone I could confide with. This place isn't worth the time. I had to call 4 times to finally get an answer. I said I was interested in booking a lesson and renting their car for the driving test, and the lady just said "aaaah....no." followed by silence. No explanation, nothing. When I finally said "Excuse me?" she just said "I only have 1 instructor. He doesnt live in Torrance, so no drivers tests." I decided to get an instructor last minute because my permit was about to expire and Jeff was able to squeeze me in for a whole week.
