This is the worst Paintball place I've ever been to. I signed up for yelp just to write this review to warn people NOT to go to this place. The staff are just the rudest and most miserable people on earth. The old guy there only knew how to yell at little people and especially little kids. One little boy asked him about his jammed gun and just got yelled at badly he almost teared. He loves putting people down to make himself feel good and more special. The place is super small, dark and smells worst than a sewer. All the equipment they rent you are shot up and in the worst condition. My gun would not fire properly and no one there knew how to fix it. They also refused to switch guns for me so I had to play with a broken gun. The masks they provided were so scratched up, it is hard to see where you are going especially in the dark. I asked to switch my mask and the old guy yelled that it didn't really matter which one I had, they were all like that. The suit they provide you are unwashed and most of them were super soggy from previous players. DISGUSTING! The gameplay there were all the same no matter what type of match you play (capture the flag, president, dodgeball). Because of how the size of the court and how it is set up, everyone just ends up hiding and no one ever wins or loses. It always ends up with players on two sides shooting at each other until time runs out disregarding which game type it is (a lot of blind firing). There are no refs on the court and people are dishonest. Only one guy standing by the exit yelling at people to put their safety on. Though it is cheap with the groupon... it is not worth a penny. There are much better places than Defcon (Victoria Park). You do not deserve to pay to get yelled at and degraded. Highly NOT recommended. read more

I went today with some friends for the first time in years. Not too bad there but some things to point out. Small dark field, the walls have never scrapped, making them extremely slimy. The staff at the counter were really nice, but the ref did nothing during to game to actually control it. Lots of cheating, some bad sportsmanship. I haven't played paintball in 6 years and after visiting today I remember why I stopped. Defcon paintball is an indoor arena that will satisfy your paint ball needs. Located off VP and steeles its a convenient place for a get together. If your a broke, penniless, student like me come during Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during half price everything. Staff is generally helpful but sometimes you'll find that one pretty boy that will spend more attention to his reflection than to you. The arena is small but not cramped. However it smells like piss and shit so pretty standard. Washrooms feel like you would be shooting up heroin rather than cleaning yourself up. Purchased a Groupon ($30 for 4 people.. didnt include jumpsuit rental) to check out Defcon Paintball. We had a blast, had a group of 12 of us go together. They were very informative, gave us a mini safety instruction and had games running one after another. We ended up playing 4 games with our 100 paintballs. You could purchase more but we're selective with whom we shot we didn't just go willy-nilly in there lol. Anyway, it was alot of fun, great activity to get a group out to have a good time or even for a work event to build teamwork etc. . read more

An absolutely pathetic excuse for a paintballing facility. When they have deals, the prices are reasonable. They usually don't have deals though, so the prices tend to be ridiculous. During our (myself and seven other friends) match, I tagged numerous people on the other team. However, dishonesty is rampant here, as is the case in many games of paintball. That's what the refs are for though, right? Wrong. The referees here are complete idiots. I tagged one guy six times, right in front of the ref, before I had to yell at the ref to get him out of the game for cheating. One time I was tagged, and I raised my arms to signal that I was out. I turned my back to go back to my side of the field, and was hit like 10 more times in the back. I looked at the ref, who would not say shit, as I was still being tagged while my hands were up. I had to walk over to the other team, and yell at them because they had no idea what it means when somebody's hands are up. When somebody's hands are up, they are hit, and you do not hit them; this is common knowledge. An opposing team of fucktards and a retarded referee that would not do shit, not a good combination. The arena was absolutely pitch black and grimy. It didn't feel like a paintball arena, it felt like quicksand. My friends and I could not see for the life of us. This is a continuation of my unfortunate Defcon Outdoor review (Basically, despite what the website and pre-recorded phone message said, the Outdoor field is actually permanently closed until a new location is found.) Background: We are not hardcore players, but have played in a few Toronto indoor fields so we have some experience and perspective. Field: Sand floor Low ceiling Concrete and barrel obstacles Small area, maybe 3-4 school buses long and 1 1/2 school buses wide. One main light source from window and some over hanging lights. Borders of field made of heavy netting. Air is humid and stuffy just like other sand fields. We were surprised and encouraged by the number of people. The waiting room looked clean and well lit and the store had a decent selection. We slapped down our $29.99 admission/rental + 4.99 coverall (+taxes) and signed up to play. The field is more like a speed ball format with no buildings. However, it is not a good field for a large number of people (+25). I did like the available concrete obstacles/cover, but for the people starting on the opposite side of the entrance the outside light made playing uneven. The outside light provided glare so the side with the light on their backs had an advantage for half the field. Granted, you could say this is part of the field design. They could improve quite a bit by not skimping on little things like: 1) Paper towels With a sand-based field you probably would want to provide players with Paper Towels so they can regularly clean off their goggles to help avoid scratches. My goggles at least were maybe in midlife and no longer that clear. Not only that, but we are taking up staff time when we need to go up every time for rationed paper towels. Our sandy coveralls do not treat the goggles well. 2) Team armbands/identifiers The field was quite small with some nice concrete and barrel barriers, but there were a large number of people on the field. I ended up spending over $120 extra for a family of 6. I had a Groupon that allowed a family to play for about $17. we had to rent their coveralls and helmets. you also have to buy paintballs. not recommended for kids under 14 . There are a lot of over zealous adults who are playing along with the kids... they can really hurt them and are ruthless (but that's the name of the game). All the kids I went with came out with bruises and welts. They do not want to go back. read more

so i went to this place around idk february 17, 2014? because my friend wanted me to come so badly. now i was the child of two parents whom were stricter than anyone so going to such a place was very THRILLING AND FUN. anyways, how did i find this place? it was alright. i didn't necessarily have TOO MUCH fun. idk i just felt like it was too expensive and omg i just felt so intimidated because there were actual people who brought like their own machine guns or whatever the hell. (it just blasts a crap ton of paintballs at you) SO YEAH VERY INTIMIDATED AND SCARED. half the time i wasn't aware of what to do (i couldn't hear the instructions too well for the games) also, after getting shot on my poor index finger i was just scared to go out anymore LOOL IT BRUISED SO BADLY AND HURT LIKE A MOFO OMFG. some mother trucker blasted me on the face. i felt it graze the top of my head. thank the lord for helmets. oh yeah, at first my friend and his friends brought their own paintballs (which of course is not allowed) legit used a few and the people in charge went to search the people who had brought them in LOL I HAD ONE IN MINE AND I WAS LIKE SCARED TO DEATH BECAUSE WHAT IF THEY BLAMED IT ALL ON ME LIKE ?!?? HOMEGIRL covered it the best i can and i passed inspection thank the lord....i legit felt like a criminal. is this how criminals feel when they have a piece of evidence they can't just get rid of easily ?!? anyways ... i ended buying 100 paintballs which i never ended up using (i believe they were like $30-50) but still a rather enjoyable and ok experience here would i come here again? probably not but i mean if y'all bois and girls like pain and the sickening feeling of blasting people then go right ahead overall, ok place. **the counter guy was pretty rude watch out read more

Had a good time there but it's a small field. If you're okay with that then you'll have a great time. Staff could have done a better job controlling people - people not putting their safeties on and shooting before the game started, etc. But all in all a well-run place and a good value for the money. read more

It's not the best place in the world but it's okay. The people that go there are mean. I once saw a guy on the ground being unloaded on while he was begging and screaming for help. The referee took his time to get to the guy on the ground. When the round was over and everyone was leaving the field the same kid that shot up the guy began to do the same to me. The field is dirty and I recommend not wearing anything you like and won't mind getting dirty. The field is small and crapy. I recommend going to paintball city then this place. read more

I went to Defcon with a group of friends. It was on a half-price day, and it was much more packed than I had expected. There were about 40 people in each game, which was WAY too many for their tiny indoor court. The court was extremely dark, too dark to see anything. I always got 'out' before I saw anybody or even shot. It seemed to be a 'spray and pray' type deal. This unfortunate behaviour eventually led to me getting hit in the hands numerous times, the back of my head [while I was walking back to tag the wall], and literally right in the crotch [I had been kneeling, I went off crying]. The players were dishonest, which didn't make for a fun game at all. I don't really know why the ref was there at all as he didn't do anything [possibly because the court was too dark to see anything]. I played honestly and was frequently the only person in the waiting room until the game ended, at which point, players filed out covered in fresh paint [even though we had just been playing 2 point elimination]. I might have been in a bad mood before I got there, but there were other things that I didn't like about my experience there. I accidentally wrote '2012' as my birth year, and I got a lot of snark from the guy for that [Heh, who here isn't born yet?]. They also have a whiteboard with a 'Quote of the Day' on it. It details an account that happened that day of a 'dumb customer' [my words]. Fine, have the board, but don't make it visible to other customers! Another account was when I switched my gun with my friends, because he had less paint and I didn't want to play anymore. My gun had already jammed once, and it ended up jamming on my friend as well. When he came out to have it fixed, I was already out of ammo and was waiting in the waiting room. The guy gave my friend another gun, but later was showing somebody how great the original gun worked. I didn't like that, the guy had such an 'I'm always right' attitude. Oh yeah, the waiting room? Had no chairs. The place was so hot that by the time I was finished playing, I was in danger of overheating and was sweating. There was nowhere to sit down though. There was also no area you could watch from. Spectators were allowed into the court and were given masks to wear. All the spectators I saw were shot and shot at. Furthermore, the court was designed in such a way that the only entrance was at the back of one side of the court. So if you were playing on the 'far wall', and got out, you had to brave the battlefield [with people blindly shooting down hallways] and march yourself all the way over to the other team's side. I got shot more when I was trying to leave the court than I did while I was actually playing. Yes! Even though I was marching with my hands and gun up in the air, yelling 'I'm out I'm out I'm out', I got shot at and hit. It wasn't until I screamed 'F***** OFF' that I stopped getting shot at [briefly], even though profanities weren't allowed on the court [again, why was the ref there?]. There was NO sense of camaraderie between the players on one's team, when I suggested somebody put a strategy forwards, people walked away. My group of friends also got shot from behind a lot, by our own teammates! The ONLY thing I liked about this place was that the floor was sand. I have gone paintballing before where the floor was like astro-turf, and it was slick and slippery with paint and impossible to run and a safety hazard. Instead of ever going back to Defcon and repeating this horrible experience, I would try to find a new paintballing place with sand on the ground. I will never be giving Defcon any more of my money, and I would recommend the same for other players [unless you are an experienced player, who is willing to cheat] read more

Its fking nice ppl are nice the guns r nice too and they're not too expensive so I'd recommend it however there location is garbage and smells like a warehouse and don't go on Tuesday's cuz there are barely any ppl r there and it's not fun with only a couple of ppl.. read more

I went here with my girlfriend and it was fun but it was kind of small, I was expecting something bigger. The people were nice and the price was worth it but for next time I would go to a bigger place. It was really hot because it's a small place and you have to wear the mask for safety. If you were to go here I would purchase the overalls, luckily I did buy them otherwise It would have been a mess. It's an okay place. read more

Went with 3 friends on Friday which is supposedly cheaper and we had to pay admission fees, coverall fees and also bought 1000 paintballs which ran out in like 4 games (we conserved our ammo too).
