My sister and I organized a joint birthday celebration for 2 children. We were a party of 7 in total. We chose the Combat games option which is a 1 hour block. It's $50 per adult and slightly less for children. You pay for one adult in advance to make the reservation, and the remainder the day of the event. You'll also need to sign waivers before you can participate. The facility is easily accessible just off the south side of Sheppard Avenue. There's adequate parking. You should make sure you check what room you're assigned to, because there are separate entrances around the building. You have to be buzzed in just before your slot. We arrived in time and were greeted by a staff who quickly confirmed our party and led us in. It was very efficient. We were asked to remove our shoes, and we were offered use of the foozball and billiard tables before we began. We were led through to our arean and the restrooms were pointed out to us before beginning. When we reached our assigned room, we had lockers (no locks) provided to us to store our belongings. Then we were ready to begin. Anna, our instructor, took over and explained the rules and equipment we'd be playing with. In addition to our bows and soft tip arrows, we were provided with helmets and arm guards. We were booked with another group of 7 or 8 players. You can reserve a private booking if you wish. The staff assisted with fitting our helmets properly, and demonstrated how to wear our arms guards and load and fire our bows. You can wear indoors only shoes if you bring them, but everyone just wore their socks. The sectioned room is the size of a small gym and the floors are similarly marked with zones. There are large, cushion "bunkers" and 2 sniper "towers" where players can take turns off the ground if they wish. We played a series of target games throughout our session. Anna clearly explained the rules for each set. It's moderately aerobic activity as you will be moving across the floor to target your opponents, and pick up arrows to keep using as you play. You also get sweaty from wearing the helmet. It was a great group activity. Kudos to Anna for keeping things organized and running smoothly. You don't need any prior experience, although it helps to know how to use your arm guard properly. Bruises inside my elbow notwithstanding, I'd love to come back for another round. read more

So. Much. Fun!!! I'm not from the area and we almost specifically came into town because of this place. Wasn't sure what we were getting into but it exceeded our expectations! Came for a Bach party and had way too much fun. We had a hour of saber wars and another hour of archery. Playing both, we would play 10mins or so of mini games and challenges. Think games like capture the flag, or aiming for a target. We had a room to ourselves with little plush barriers as a shield. It sounded like other games were going (seems like many other rooms of fun!) Both games had safety gear and a guide who thoroughly explained the rules of how to not get hurt. Obviously if playing, you do need to be careful! My favorite was the archery! The arrows we shot had a marshmallow end so you wouldn't get hurt. So much fun! This isn't right. It shouldn't be this much fun to inflict violence upon your friends. To shoot them as they run away. To laugh maniacally when you get a clean head shot. I hope this doesn't awaken anything dark inside of me. Archers Arena is a hidden treasure within a bunch of commercial complexes near Downsview Park. Who knew that within these lame brown walls, there is a battlefield? A battlefield complete with a throne made of arrows, a meme wall, and 10,000 sqft of space rigged out to do combat. As the name implies, this is an archery tag place, but they also do Nerf gun wars which frankly, sounds AMAZING. Each game starts with a lesson from a coach, who is not only skilled in the sport, but also an effective teacher. Peter "The Paladin" was our facilitator, and not only was he a great coach, he was also a very chill dude. I've done archery tag once before and I find the instructions this time around were much more thorough. Explanations were very clear, safety precautions were drilled into our heads. It seems all of the employees there are passionate young people that take this job seriously but also have a lot of fun. The part where you shoot people lasts about an hour. The coach sets up 4 or 5 different games; some cooperative, some not. All of them are one side vs. another side. You definitely won't need to go to the gym that day because that hour is one intensive cardio session. You'll be running, jumping, hiding behind obstacles. It's the most fun I've ever had doing a full body workout. Despite the intensity, this place is very family friendly. We played our game with a bunch of little kids and nobody hated us afterwards (I hope). The arrows are foam-tipped and the bows are lightweight. And with each game costing about $35, it's no wonder tons of people have their birthday/bachelor/team-building parties here. Great financial and entertainment value! SO FUN. And so exhausting. Maybe I'm just out of shape? Came here with a group of adults and kids from my church this past Saturday night for NERF GUN WARS because what better way to bond with your pastors and their families lol. We hung out in the reception/lobby where we could play foosball, take photos on the GoT-esque throne and watch other groups playing live on the TV screens while waiting for our turn. The facilitators are enthusiastic individuals who were great at commanding the kids' attention (and the adults too, let's be real) when going through the instructions and safety precautions. There were 4-5 games we played, and each of them were a lot of fun and went by so fast! We had a great time and definitely got a solid workout. If you have the tiniest sliver of competitiveness in you, you will work up a sweat! Facilities are well maintained - my only complaint was that my team's side of the arena had a bunch of bubbles (for bubble soccer) at the back, which made one of the games a bit difficult as we had to squeeze our way through them to retrieve a bouncy ball that was getting tossed back and forth. But our team won anyway, so it wasn't so bad :P They have party rooms available as well, which is handy for post-game friendship reconciliation over a shared meal ;) Can't speak to the value as the cost was covered - but I'd definitely be interested in returning! read more

A place where you can shoot your friends with arrows without getting in trouble? Sign me up! Came here for a birthday event and boy was it fun! If you have never been before, fear not as they have a demonstration that is pretty thorough. They show you how to hold the bow, shoot the arrow properly and even provide protection to help from string backlash. Although, that was not an issue for me. Once we got into the arena, it was like a new side of me came out! I was channeling my inner Katniss Everdeen. They have two towers where you can have snipers that can shoot you but you can't shoot them. Talk about perks! For the unfortunate souls on the ground, they do have blow-ups to hide behind. There was a few different versions we played but they were all as equally as fun. In short, it's a great place to get out any pent-up frustrations one may be holding onto and its extremely fun! Word to the wise, you will feel all the fun the next day as it can be quite a cardio workout/squat workout. It's also smart to have a rule that if you are in the arena with your partner, not to take anything personally or you could have an upset partner on the way home. Came here for the Yelp Elite event. This place is a warehouse converted in an Archer arena. Half of the warehouse is for Archery games and the other half for Nerf ball. We started off with a quick training session and some practice rounds shooting at targets. After that we geared up and played a few different games shooting at each other. It was fun and quite intensive. We also played Nerf ball. We were given a choice of 2 guns. A manual shooter with 30 rounds or an automatic shooter with 100 rounds. I had an amazing time at Archers Arena. I came here for a Yelp Elite Event and we had a wonderful time. We started the evening off with a bow and arrow training session, followed by a bunch of games on the court. We played archery tag, save/protect the priest, catch/shoot the president and much more. All of the archery games were fantastic! They even had a sniper station where each team could place one team member to aim at targets on the other team. It was a really cool experience and I can't wait to go back. Next, we played nerf wars. This was really fun as well. We each got to choose our gun, so I chose the big one, which required less effort to deploy the bullets. The bullets were these little soft balls so you don't have to worry about getting hurt. After playing the games, the establishment provided us all with a nice cool and sweet snack. I'll keep that a secret so you'll get surprised like we did. I can't wait to go back for their drop in battles. I'll have to find out which evenings they are. read more

Archers Arena is a really neat place. They had a lounge area which included an archer throne, Instagram booth, a foosball table and a pool table. Once we entered the training area we were immediately taught by Jones and co. They were quite enthusiastic and helpful to the group. They were able to crack jokes while ensuring that they emphasized the safety precautions. Once we hit the arena, I noticed that the ceilings were kind of low, but they did have one element that I've never seen at any other archery tag place. They had Sniper Towers!For these towers you designated one person on your team to snipe the opposing team. Also the snipers were off limits to shoot at which made the game quite interesting. We then played nerf wars which in my opinion was not as fun as archery tag at this location. They had a big open field with blow up towers which was a similar layout to the archery tag. In essence, it was easy to get shot, and there was barely any honour amongst the players while playing nerf guns. They did have better guns than other places that I have been to. Overall I loved this place to play archery tag, and would recommend spending your time playing archery tag over nerf gun wars if you have to split your time. Who cares if your can't walk the next day, as long as you had fun, right?! RIGHT! I'm not sure what I was expecting when I walked into Archers Arena, but they definitely exceed my expectations. We came in a group of eight and were partnered up with another group for the 7 o'clock slot. The workers gave a thorough briefing which lasted a little under 30 minutes and even let you practice on targets prior to going into the arena. The equipment surprisingly didn't smell, especially the masks (germaphobe here), which helps because archery is a sweaty business. Upon entering the arena, we were allowed to stay in our groups for pictures. Afterwards, however, the facilitator gathered all the players and separated everyone into two teams--disregarding any groups that came in together. This was the only negative part of my experience, as I found myself in a group with strangers who pretty much didn't regard anyone else's opinion. I wish they let us select our own groups, as the game-play would've been more fun & competitive. Overall, a solid & fun night. I will return once my thigh muscles recover. I bought a Groupon that included a half hour of instruction and a half hour of free shooting for four people, and I have to admit, the experience was pretty terrible at first. When you walk in, the place is extremely low-rent and run down, so expectations were not high. And then we were shown into the main target range area, which is fairly tiny. But the worst part was we were in there with about 20 other people, so it was uncomfortably crammed. I would guess that within the span of that initial half hour, I was able to shoot no more than five arrows. The experience improved considerably as all those other people went into the fighting arena and we were left in the target range by ourselves. We were allowed to shoot as much as we wanted for the remaining half hour and one of the instructors helpfully pointed out tips to improve our aim (and eventually came up with a competitive game for the three of us). Even with the Groupon, I feel like I overpaid but it was ultimately a pretty good time. read more

Visited this place for a friend's bachelor party last Sunday. You get a little archery demo and away you go to shoot each other with nerf arrows for an hour. It's a hard go. Awesome place and tons of variations for games. This place is clean and the arena is big with a separate target practice area, an area for billiards, and a hangout room. Snacks are also available for purchase. The staff are welcoming, patient and knowledgeable. Their instructions were very clear. I was pretty intimidated at first. I never had archery experience but the staff made the learning process quick and easy. I also appreciated the photos uploaded on their facebook page. My friends and I were quite impressed at how fast they were edited and uploaded. I highly recommend this for all ages, for small or large groups. Tons of fun and a great workout. I would say the problems i had were two fold, they combined two groups into one mega group and so the games that we played were a bit not as fun as they could have been. Also, we had problems with the arrows not staying on the bow, so it wouldnt fly as true. For my first archery tag experience I thought the space was clean, the arena well thought out and the staff were inviting and friendly. Way before you step into the arena they give everyone a semi-crash course in using a bow and foam-marshmallow-tipped arrow. As a person who was trained as an archer on my high school team for 3 years, they do a decent job for 10-ish minutes of training. Don't dry fire, knock the arrow with the odd colored fletching facing outwards, draw the string with your back muscles, etc etc. It's nice that they provide arm guards in case you are the type where the string hits your arm, and their bows come with pads on the string for the 3-finger draw method. All their bows are fairly short such that smaller people won't have any problem drawing the string to it's full potential (I am 5' 1" and its an easy draw). You get to shoot around for a bit about 10 ft out from the practice targets and it gets you pretty pumped about getting into the arena. After the short training, they equip you with face masks that smell surprisingly good when you first put them on. At least it's comforting to know they are sanitized in one way or another. Now for the arena. Before shooting you get to have a group shot underneath the archer's arena logo they have painted on the wall, then they divide you into 2 groups to get you ready for war. The arena is topped with turf and they have inflatable obstacles across the field. It's not a super large arena by any means, but for people whose first time it is using a bow and arrow and for the size of their bows, it's a good size. They teach you 3 different games for the hour-ish you are there. We played infection, Paladin, and sniper-paladin. All very fun and I recommend you come out and try them with your friends. Also... you get HELLA SWEATY. Bring a small towel for after the game and definitely a change of clothes. Furthermore, probably a question on your mind, does it hurt? I'd say it hurts less than paintball, but some shots can still leave a tender spot and possibly a welt depending on how close you were shot. However, the arrows are fairly easy to dodge and as long as you have a normal pain tolerance, the fun outweighs the pain. I'd definitely give this place 2 thumbs up and my full recommendation if you are looking for a venue to try archery tag. Lastly, what's great is that they take pictures of your group during training and in the arena then post them on their facebook page the day after! Oh right price- I went for a birthday and we were a group of 16. It costs us $24.80/pp + tax. Not bad! read more

Went there for our 4pm archery lesson appointment yesterday for 2. I got a groupon for my husband as a gift for Christmas. Make sure u bring your gym clothes and shoes. There's lockers and washroom for u to change. It was a great workout for my legs cause of the bending and running. So we did about 10-15 min archery lesson. Then we were brought in to the 'battle field' and were instructed by an instructor about the rules of the game. So there were about 14 people and we were divided into 2 groups and start shooting at each other. The only reason why I gave it a 4 stars is because my husband and I get a burst on our left arm because of the elasticity of the bow. There was a loud group of teenage boys scheduled at the same time as my group, so Sam offered to have us wait until the next time slot in the lobby for a discounted price. As part of a bachelor party I was putting together for a good friend of mine, we decided to visit Archer's Arena as part of the festivities. This is a great place to start if want to be live either your Hunger Games or The Walking Dead fantasies. Although I am not sure how far you would get with soft-like marshmallow tips instead of arrow heads... My guess? About 5 minutes in either fantasy. Either way, it is definitely quite the workout and believe you me, if you really want to get into it, then you will be walking out as blob of sweat by the end, and you will be the happier for it. Not to mention, likely exhausted. This is as close as you are going to get to to play William Tell, shooting people in the head with a bow and arrow without any legal repercussions, since you will find that few things are as satisfying in this sport as hearing the loud "thawp!" of an arrow hitting someone's helmet. Remember, the greatest prey of them all... is... MAN!!!! DUN DUN DUUUUN!!! Needless to say, archery tag really, truly, shines when you come in larger groups. We were seven and we mingled with other players as we ran, fought and hid through a few different game styles in order to keep the hour interesting. When you get there, you get about half an hour for a quick training session, in which you get acquainted with the bow, and shooting targets before you move to the arena where you play for a full hour like kids aught to be playing and exercising today instead of playing Minecraft on their smartphones. I cannot stress how much fun it is --specially with larger groups -- and I for one will be going back. They also have a special in which you can play for the whole night for $20 on weekends starting at 7:00pm, if I recall. Mind you, this is one of those *wink wink* white lies of a promotion since I doubt there is a human, outside someone who is at an athlete level, who could possibly last playing longer than 2-3 hours or die of dehydration, their pick. I guess it depends on how serious you want to get into the fun. Some people stay at the end of the arenas which gives you plenty of breathing room and time to aim, avoid and shoot arrows, while others (like me) will get closer which means you will have to be on the move or be seeking cover virtually at all times, specially if you want to maximise tagging your opponents while not getting tagged yourself. Follow this strategy if you think you need to work on your gastrocnemius and popliteus muscles says I, thinking, "Finall! That one anatomy class in grade 10 is finally paying off." The staff is friendly and for what I could tell, knowledgeable. I can't give them five stars since this was my first archery battle location I have visited, therefore my perspective is somewhat limited. However, the place is fairly low key, the battle arenas (there are 2) seem to be what I would call medium sized(?). Since I think that any larger, would lead to games being a tad slower which would impact the overall stakes and fun. Plus, generally, you will be too busy on the run, taking cover and picking up arrows to bother pondering about the arena's size and Feng Shui rating. If not Archers Arena, at least give Archery Battle/Tag a try. If you like to be active, then this is something I am almost certain, you will enjoy. Happy hunting. :) read more

Went for archery tag with some friends on a weekday evening. The place was a bit hard to find and I ended up looping around the whole plaza before finding it. We went to pay and the lady didn't seem to know how to work the debit/visa machine and needed my friend to help her, which was a little funny. There were lockers for you to store your stuff but you need to bring your own lock. The staff very nice and and we got a quick crash course with targets to hit. The staff came around to help your positioning and give you tips. The space was clean, bright and felt roomy. One of the guys later told us that they chose not to put netting on the ceiling to make the space feel not as small. There was a sniper tower which was also pretty cool. They randomly put you on teams so my friends and I were on separate teams. The games were very fun - there were many variations and I was exhausted when the game was over. There was also a staff member going around taking photos and it didn't bother me but I had a friend who was very peeved about that. Also, I think the staff could've paid closer attention to the game because there were players who kept getting hit and just did not want to leave the game. read more

I got a Groupon deal here and attended the two-for-$30, hour-long introduction lesson. This is definitely one of the better archery places I've been to. Best part is it's only a 10/15-minute walk from Downsview Station - so, points for accessibility. The welcoming foyer was clean, well-kept, and nicely lit with natural lighting. This may seem kind of whimsical, but it definitely gave the place a more polished feel (it didn't look like a converted warehouse garage). They even have many lockers, and are adding more! Of course, who can forget the throne of arrows? You have to see it to believe it. As for the actual lesson itself - Keiron (sp.?), our teacher, was cool and attentive to detail. Since my friend and I had practiced archery before (like once), the teacher quickly adjusted to our level and we were shooting at moving targets before we knew it. I'll definitely come back for archery tag sometime. They definitely put a lot of effort in making different games, hosting a variety of events, and even holding archery tag tournaments. The posters and decor are very creative. I wish I'd done the introductory lesson before jumping into archery tag (which was what I did last time, at another place). It's worth the price. read more

I wish the archery field was bigger so there would be more obstacles and people could actually run around. We had to wait for other team members to shoot before we could move forward so that ruins the momentum a bit. Nonetheless, my friends and I had a great time and I can't wait to return again! Tip: Better to have a group of 16 so you can have the field to yourselves rather than being combined with other people and having more members in each team. read more

Went here for an archery class. Nick was a super instructor making it easy and fun to learn. After instruction there was 45 minutes of target practice. He let us try several different bows. Great time, nice people, fun activity! read more

My first archery tag experience was at Archery District, and this was my second. I can confidently say this place provides a much better experience overall - I felt like the coaches were doing a much better job at clearly explaining everything, and the service of everyone working there was quite impressive. This place is awesome. Came for the first time for a friends bday and it blew my mind. The staff are very professional and friendly. The owner, Sam, is also extremely nice. SO MANY ARENA MODES. I MUST TRY THEM ALL. We got to experience "elimination", "paladin" and "sniper". SOOOO FUN. Bring a large group of friends (preferrably 7+ ppl). Highly recommended and will definitely return in the near future (prolly with my own armguard cuz the ones they provide might be a lil tight if u have buff forearms). The rate they charge is very decent and u feel like uve gotten ur moneys worth (as opposed to laser tag nowadays). I would prolly sign up for a membership if they were located in richmond hill or markham. Too bad they are so far from me but still worth the trip! And dont worry about being a newbie because u will get prepped for battle by the staff before u enter the arena. Get ready to bring out ur inner hunger games soul! read more

Best archery tag i've played so far. They have so many different game modes. I went to their coaches night, they really play at another level. I would recommend anyone that wants to play archery tag competitive should come. read more
