Just got out of my first free lesson. Wow... that was a good work out. My first exposure to this "crossfitting" stuff and it was great. Definitely a doable workout and a more efficient way to go somewhere where you'll actually be motivated to do the workouts instead of sitting around at the 24 hour fitness waiting for people to get off their machines... Also good for me cuz it's only 1 hour a day and doesn't mess with my schedule. Don't know if I'm going to sign up for it but I would motivate anyone to at least take advantage of the free workout... Also my first time reviewing a gym.... Don't really have a star scale system for gyms yetbut if its a good workout then this place gets 5 stars for sure. Also they provide towels and showers... definitely a plus.

I participated in their 6 week challenge. The owner and head coach Vaz provided a specific and easy to follow meal plan and had us come in for three workouts a week. The workouts are quit challenging and all of the coaches are very knowledgeable and supportive. Within those six weeks I lost about 5.7 percent of my body fat by following his meal plan and workout routine. Here are the before and after photos. I didn't have abs before the program started.

I have just finished my first year at CrossFit Crescenta Valley. I'm in my 60's and had already lost quite a bit of weight by dieting, but I could tell I was losing muscle mass fast. Age was getting me. I was satisfied just being a skinny old guy, but came to CrossFit to add a little muscle back on. It was not fun being weak and unable to enjoy activity with my family. A skinny old guy with a little bit of strength? I've changed my goal. One year later, with the help of Vaz and the coaches here, I am well on the way to being stronger as a 60+ man than ever before in my life. I'm doing handstand push ups, Olympic-style weightlifting, double-under jump ropes, pull ups, 24" box jumps, rope climbs, and more. I've learned that I can build strength as an older guy as well as I could when I was younger. I just had to work at it. And it has been great exercising alongside younger men and women. The mix of ages and community makes the workouts a challenging pleasure. Strengthening and helpful nutrition challenges have set me on a course to enjoy an active life. Thanks, Vaz and our great coaches - Chona, Rocky, Andrew. You guys are fantastic!

I participated in the 6-week, transformation challenge. I, not only wanted to lose weight, I am also training for a marathon. After meeting with the owner, I knew Vaz could help me. I've attempted several times to qualify for the Boston Marathon but failed. I knew I would have to do something different for this training cycle if I wanted a different outcome. I followed their meal plan and workouts and I lost a total of 21 lbs. Vaz and his staff are knowledgeable and focus on proper technique and form, which I appreciate because I'm fairly new to CrossFit/Olympic style movements. My race (California International Marathon) is this weekend and I couldn't be happier with the results. I recommend CFCV wholeheartedly!

After almost a year of working out at CFCV, I am very pleased with my progress!! Thanks Crossfit Crescenta Valley!!!

I was definitely reluctant at first I've always worked out on my own and wasn't sure if this would be a beginner focused gym. But I decided to give it a shot. From the very first day, I was welcomed so kindly. Women introduced themselves, helped me when I was unsure of what was going on, and made me feel right at home. What I love most is that while we're all doing the same workout, everyone lifts weights that feel right for them no pressure, just support. I especially appreciate that the workouts rely on free weights instead of machines, which makes it easy to replicate at home if needed. The workouts are both challenging and realistic, and the trainers are incredibly knowledgeable. They're always walking around checking form, offering encouragement, and even pushing you to go heavier when they know you can handle it. But truly, the best part of this gym is the women. We come from all different walks of life, but we share the same goal: to be healthy and strong. We cheer each other on, laugh together, complain about our aches and pains and if someone's missing for a week, you better believe someone's checking in. It's more than a gym. It's a sweaty, supportive, empowering family that I look forward to seeing every day! I would like to preface this review by saying that every member is entitled to their opinion. And…read morethat one of the hardest parts of running any business is keeping all of its clients happy But I had noticed something different recently in the vibe of classes but couldn't put my finger on it until I read a recent review pointing out some "negative" issues with the trainers. I'd like to offer a different perspective because I do feel like changes made in policy in reaction to one persons review have now created a downgrade in my experience when coming to this F45 First of all, bringing energy and motivation to group fitness classes is one of the hardest things to do on a daily basis. So when coaches are actively training along side members during classes I feel like it's bringing a level of energy that otherwise can be missing. It's one thing to offer verbal encouragement but another to show it. I know for myself, it lifts my energy level up when coaches are active participants in class. I know I'm giving 110% that day if they're in it with me. Also in regards to dancing and filming during class. Again, it's about perspective. Dancing, is also part of creating energy in the class atmosphere. It's putting smiles on faces when you're struggling thru your workout or your life. Part of having the two coach format, is not so that they can stand on opposite sides of the room and clap their hands. If they are interactive and play off each other, I would consider it a positive thing. Filming often makes it onto social media which helps to promote the business, I'm sure the coaches goal is not to portray themselves on social media as lazy people who are goofing off during work. I think it may be misconstrued that because the coaches are actively participating in classes or finding different ways to motivate or entertain people. That they are somehow "not doing their job" But I find that that's not the case. They're still aware of the clients, giving direction, offering encouragement, and giving corrections on form. I would like to point out that diversity in types of coaches and coaching styles is actually key in the group fitness format. The best way to attract from a larger more diverse client pool is to foster an environment where not every coach feels like the same carbon copy of every other coach that just clocks in and "does the thing" Also to finish. Community, is one of the HARDEST things to build in any gym. And when you're building community then your personal lives outside the gym starts to blend in with members personal lives. So you can call it "drama or high school" but that's what happens when you blend friendships that extend outside the gym. Those friendships are genuine and the time fostering community is always uncompensated, but again add up to memberships that benefit the business. Just because there are conversations had that aren't... wow that Marathon, that was a tough one. Station 3 what a killer. Doesn't mean that that needs to be taken away. Please don't turn this into some corporate robot gym

I booked "High Rollers" with Shannon and Michael through Classpass and felt the burn in my core the following day. Michael was motivating and encouraging. Doors opened at 5:15 PM and class began at 5:30 PM. Shannon's pup greeted us at the door. Shannon gave us a rundown of the workouts before we started our warmup. Workouts had the same format as the Alhambra location. Only difference is, wherever you stand for the warmup is the station you'll begin the workout. This location didn't provide towels or a cooldown stretch after the class. They have two individual gender neutral, clean restrooms with thoughtful amenities, such as hair ties. Cubbies are located in the front of the class to store your belongings. Water refill station is located in the back, next to the restrooms. Parking was hard to find behind F45, but I found parking across the street on the rooftop. Parking is free, which is a plus!

This allows me to sufficiently warm up and I feel like I'm getting the most out of my workout. You only switch once during the combo so I definitely can take my time and do quality reps. Game changer and much better use of space. I've been liking this new format because it added room for the strength and weight-training portion of the class. For me, I still average around 2-3 miles per Combo class and that's perfect for me. This new format helps me hit more muscle groups than before!
