This is my favorite camp ever!! Everyone is so nice and i've never had a bad experience (i've been…read moregoing for 5 years). Counselors have always been ready and prepared to help any situation that arose. The food is great and so is the atmosphere of the camp. I loved playing all the night games even though I would trip or get banged up occasionally, I would still have a great time. Also my counselors/friends would be right beside me as I headed to the nurses office. Every activity that took place was enjoyable and I have made so many fantastic memories and met impactful people at this camp. Chapel and the Pastors have always gotten the point across in a way others and I understood and could elaborate on. I would 10/10 recommended seeing as i've had so much fun. I can't wait to go back in a couple weeks, I seriously look forward to this camp all year!

If you'd like to skip this long review, here's it in short: The counselors are rude/mean, will not help if you have a issue, and do not even attempt to stop other kids from bulling each other. I got the "fun" counselor, who was extremely rude and quite full of herself. She made fun of me for being scared to zipline and do other things I hadn't done before, hence why I has scared. Was excluded from almost every "fun" and social event they were having. For example, when we were playing capture the flag I slid down a hill with my ankle pointing towards the other foot and couldn't get up. My team mates just told me I was giving away the position of the flag as I screamed for help, my aunt who was also a counselor, was the only one to help me to the nurses office. After staying there for a few hours I was told to go and join the game again. I was told the teams had been mixed up so I found a group of kids and tried to ask them what was going on. They ignored me till about the third of fifth time I asked, when a kid decided to call me a "fat bitch" to get me to go away. I was taller then him so I got up in his face to intimidate him and bonked him on the back of the head with the flashlight then ran away cause I knew I was going to be in trouble for that. Hid next to the stairs to the nurses office and no one saw me for hours, so I heard a lot. Like my counselor saying I was a just a little whinier to the nurse, didn't reveal where I was for hooours just cause of that. When some one did find me I was sat down in the mess hall and told I couldn't go home/use the phone. My house was a hour away. Then there was just mean/stupid things. Like not being allowed to teach me how to read a bible...even though its a bible camp. Or everyone in my cabin being mean till my parents sent me cookies, then I had something they wanted so it was time to be nice! For a day that is, any longer might make me feel like I was wanted there. Not like we paid them money or anything for a nice trip, of course not who would pay to be made fun of, excluded, and ignored for 2 weeks? Yes, I'm just writing this out of spite, but for real if your kid is mildly different in anyway for what is stereotypically normal DO NOT send them here. Cause they will make it their mission to make your kids life a living hell for the duration of the stay.

I'd already assumed he was busy and content while there because even though he had his phone with him, I hardly heard from him in that time. His session was a good variety of about 17 kids, pretty evenly split between boys and girls, from all around the US. I believe they learned a lot from nice instructors/guides and had fun, too. From a parent point of view, I thought the communication from Crow Canyon was terrific- not incessant but informative, clear, and timely. We were hopeful that it would be a good experience for our son, and neither of us was disappointed in the least- we are so glad he went!

Even though we only climbed for about 2 hours, it was worth it. Our kids were tired by 1-1.5 hours. Perhaps other climbers go for a longer time but 1.5 hours would be more than enough time to have some great climbs. Our visit to Gravity Lab was our kids' first time climbing/bouldering. It had been on their bucket list. We arrived later in the night and Luke from the front desk greeted us. He was very informative from the costs, what to expect as far as how the rental climbing shoes should fit (aka they should be tight), and provided us powder for our kids to take around in a sac. Luke then gave us a tour of the facility. He informed us on the different levels of climbing and where our kids could start. He also focused a lot on the safety of properly falling, how to connect themselves to the clips to aid climb (not belay but not sure what it's called), etc. Luke also took time to coach our children whenever he had a moment. He was working the front desk, helping other customers, cleaning the place, etc. Gravity Lab got lucky with such a great employee and face of the company. He was patient and descriptive when he encouraged our kids. He cared and I think that's what made our experience so amazing at Gravity Lab. He also helped our kids with the belay and gave them confidence to make it to the top of the more difficult paths. Gravity Lab was clean, organized, and brightly lit. The other customers were welcoming and kind to us. Our kids and the other climbers all kept out of each other's paths on the wall. The restrooms were up kept and neat. I can appreciate that as someone who is a bit OCD. In addition to the above compliments I have written above, I think it's important to note that this place is not only a great place for adults and those advanced in climbing skills. We witnessed some experienced climbers accomplish some amazing skills. But Gravity Lab is equally perfect for children and even children like ours who have no experience. As you can see in our videos, our son made it to the top of one of the crack climbs with the guidance of Luke; and our daughter, who had been encouraged by Luke on what she could improve on, and she made it to the top with bouldering. Gravity Lab also resets their paths every week for different walls. You won't be tired of their gym! Oh I forgot to mention the building is two stories in certain areas; they have yoga and a weight lifting section. Thanks to our experience of Gravity Lab, our kids want to continue climbing at our local climbing gym. We are from California and visited Durango, Colorado. Looks like we'll be doing that. Thanks for the memories Gravity Lab and thanks for your exceptional customer service Luke. You made our first experience climbing a very memorable one.
