This is my favorite camp ever!! Everyone is so nice and i've never had a bad experience (i've been…read moregoing for 5 years). Counselors have always been ready and prepared to help any situation that arose. The food is great and so is the atmosphere of the camp. I loved playing all the night games even though I would trip or get banged up occasionally, I would still have a great time. Also my counselors/friends would be right beside me as I headed to the nurses office. Every activity that took place was enjoyable and I have made so many fantastic memories and met impactful people at this camp. Chapel and the Pastors have always gotten the point across in a way others and I understood and could elaborate on. I would 10/10 recommended seeing as i've had so much fun. I can't wait to go back in a couple weeks, I seriously look forward to this camp all year!

If you'd like to skip this long review, here's it in short: The counselors are rude/mean, will not help if you have a issue, and do not even attempt to stop other kids from bulling each other. I got the "fun" counselor, who was extremely rude and quite full of herself. She made fun of me for being scared to zipline and do other things I hadn't done before, hence why I has scared. Was excluded from almost every "fun" and social event they were having. For example, when we were playing capture the flag I slid down a hill with my ankle pointing towards the other foot and couldn't get up. My team mates just told me I was giving away the position of the flag as I screamed for help, my aunt who was also a counselor, was the only one to help me to the nurses office. After staying there for a few hours I was told to go and join the game again. I was told the teams had been mixed up so I found a group of kids and tried to ask them what was going on. They ignored me till about the third of fifth time I asked, when a kid decided to call me a "fat bitch" to get me to go away. I was taller then him so I got up in his face to intimidate him and bonked him on the back of the head with the flashlight then ran away cause I knew I was going to be in trouble for that. Hid next to the stairs to the nurses office and no one saw me for hours, so I heard a lot. Like my counselor saying I was a just a little whinier to the nurse, didn't reveal where I was for hooours just cause of that. When some one did find me I was sat down in the mess hall and told I couldn't go home/use the phone. My house was a hour away. Then there was just mean/stupid things. Like not being allowed to teach me how to read a bible...even though its a bible camp. Or everyone in my cabin being mean till my parents sent me cookies, then I had something they wanted so it was time to be nice! For a day that is, any longer might make me feel like I was wanted there. Not like we paid them money or anything for a nice trip, of course not who would pay to be made fun of, excluded, and ignored for 2 weeks? Yes, I'm just writing this out of spite, but for real if your kid is mildly different in anyway for what is stereotypically normal DO NOT send them here. Cause they will make it their mission to make your kids life a living hell for the duration of the stay.

We experienced Equine Sessions led by the owner, Cindy, which were awakening and healing!! The staff are very pleasant and accommodating and the meals were delicious! Some of us chose to go on a horseback trail ride led by Wrangler Dorothy which was relaxing, scenic and fun! The horses are beautiful, well kept and behaved. I enjoyed the ranch so much I am looking into planning a return trip for the entire family!!!

Upon arrival, the young lady checked their booking schedule and let us know that they had a cancellation earlier that day and a cabin on the river was available. She said she wanted to do one last walk through to ensure it was cleaned and ready before we checked in. Thank goodness it was good to go. It was super cute, incredibly clean, and surprising spacious... even if it was just my husband and I. We got the deluxe cabin, so it had a queen-sized bed on the first floor and another bed in the loft area. This would have been even more perfect for a family with kiddos. Either way, sitting on the back porch listening to the river and the birds chirping was pretty darn relaxing. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom and shower were a good size. All in all, great place to stay! Their location falls right between Telluride and Dolores, Co. We would definitely stay here again.

Telluride Wranglers - Trail ride to Woods Lake

We recently spent our summer vacation in Telluride. We decided that it would be fun to include a…read morehorseback riding excursion on one of the mornings. After reviewing several guided riding outfits, we chose Telluride Wranglers. They offered a few different riding locations and had several options for duration of ride. They also have some rides that include a meal offering. And even combine an overnight camp out with a ride as another option. The variety of options was appealing to us, however, the fact that the ride was private for just our group was the determining factor that sold us on Telluride Wranglers. We selected a 2 hour ride at the Woods Lake location. This is the farthest of the locations, but was a very beautiful and peaceful location. It is approximately a 45-50 min drive from the center of Downtown Telluride. And this particular drive does include a portion of the drive to the site on unpaved roads (sometimes smooth, sometimes a bit bumpy. Overall, we thought the beauty of the location justified the additional time to get there and the 12 - 15 minute unpaved portion of the journey. NOTE: make sure u allocate 45-50 min to get there or the length of your ride will be shortened by the amount u are late. We also had some confusion about exactly where we would meet our guide, the location that was indicated in the text had some horses tethered up but no guide. We were eventually directed a bit more down the road where guide and horses awaited. Our guide was Piper and she was great. Clearly an expert on horses and on navigating the trails. She made us both feel very comfortable. Offered lots of tidbits along the way about the flora and fauna, the horses, and the local area. She also snapped pictures of us along the way and airdropped them to us at the end. A very nice touch. In the entirety of the ride we only saw a couple of hikers and a couple people on the lake paddle boarding. It was incredible to be in such a gorgeous setting that was really peaceful and isolated.

She said "only a bit, it's gallery opening night, so I stopped by some art galleries on my way here." I said, "I don't feel comfortable having you watch my child if you've been drinking." She said "how old is your kid? 6? He'll be fine!" I told her to wait outside while I called the agency. No one answered so I left them a voicemail. Then I came back out and said "listen, this isn't going to work for me." She got angry and yelled at me, "this isn't how we do things here in Telluride!" The agency called me back after she left and were very apologetic, but couldn't find a last minute replacement sitter so my plans were ruined. Regarding the business owners reply: I simply forgot to publish the review. So I'm publishing it now after finding it in my Yelp Drafts folder. She did offer to connect me to another sitter another night, but I did not need a sitter another night.

As content as I would have been I knew my 7 month old was not going to happy relaxing & doing nothing. If you have a baby you know traveling light isn't much of an option so thinking of traveling with snowboards, lots of toys & clothes I couldn't imagine trying to carry the pack n play for her to sleep in. Not to mention the rock n play which she naps in, the kick n play piano, the walker, & last but absolutely NOT least the jumper. So I began wondering what in the world I was going to do to keep her entertained all day long. I found telluride sitters not for the babysitting but for the rentals. We rented a crib, walker, jumper, play mat, & a baby bath. My LO's eyes lit up when we walked in and she saw the jump jump. The baby bath also was a lifesaver bc our room only had a shower. We were able to fill the baby bath up in the shower and it worked out perfectly. I placed my initial order about a week before our trip and Lindsay made everything very easy. Everything was right there waiting for us when we arrived! My MIL couldn't stop talking about how great it was to be able to rent all of these for my baby girl and for very reasonable prices. Lindsay told me beforehand the baby bath was cleaned with bleach & the crib mattress had clean sheets. I highly recommend using telluride sitters for baby rentals. I knew going in that I would write a review (good or bad) bc I myself wanted to hear how others experiences with them went. And I was not disappointed. Hope this helps anyone planning a trip in the future!

Even though we only climbed for about 2 hours, it was worth it. Our kids were tired by 1-1.5 hours. Perhaps other climbers go for a longer time but 1.5 hours would be more than enough time to have some great climbs. Our visit to Gravity Lab was our kids' first time climbing/bouldering. It had been on their bucket list. We arrived later in the night and Luke from the front desk greeted us. He was very informative from the costs, what to expect as far as how the rental climbing shoes should fit (aka they should be tight), and provided us powder for our kids to take around in a sac. Luke then gave us a tour of the facility. He informed us on the different levels of climbing and where our kids could start. He also focused a lot on the safety of properly falling, how to connect themselves to the clips to aid climb (not belay but not sure what it's called), etc. Luke also took time to coach our children whenever he had a moment. He was working the front desk, helping other customers, cleaning the place, etc. Gravity Lab got lucky with such a great employee and face of the company. He was patient and descriptive when he encouraged our kids. He cared and I think that's what made our experience so amazing at Gravity Lab. He also helped our kids with the belay and gave them confidence to make it to the top of the more difficult paths. Gravity Lab was clean, organized, and brightly lit. The other customers were welcoming and kind to us. Our kids and the other climbers all kept out of each other's paths on the wall. The restrooms were up kept and neat. I can appreciate that as someone who is a bit OCD. In addition to the above compliments I have written above, I think it's important to note that this place is not only a great place for adults and those advanced in climbing skills. We witnessed some experienced climbers accomplish some amazing skills. But Gravity Lab is equally perfect for children and even children like ours who have no experience. As you can see in our videos, our son made it to the top of one of the crack climbs with the guidance of Luke; and our daughter, who had been encouraged by Luke on what she could improve on, and she made it to the top with bouldering. Gravity Lab also resets their paths every week for different walls. You won't be tired of their gym! Oh I forgot to mention the building is two stories in certain areas; they have yoga and a weight lifting section. Thanks to our experience of Gravity Lab, our kids want to continue climbing at our local climbing gym. We are from California and visited Durango, Colorado. Looks like we'll be doing that. Thanks for the memories Gravity Lab and thanks for your exceptional customer service Luke. You made our first experience climbing a very memorable one.
