The family is…read morevery hard-working, helpful, and experienced, and someone is always available and willing to help when needed. Pros: low-key, kid-friendly atmosphere, huge indoor arena, excellent head trainer, full-sized outdoor dressage ring, heated tack room with hot water, and access to endless miles of trails and dirt roads allows for plenty of independence and fitness work. They offer both stall board and pasture board at reasonable prices ($400 and $550). (Horses on stall board are fed hay and grain three times per day as opposed to just twice for pasture board horses.) They also make their own hay, which tends to be plentiful and high in quality although it can vary and occasionally becomes limited in the spring. They will do blanket changes some of the time. Almost all the turnout areas have shelters, but owners reserve most of the nice grassy fields for their personal horses while boarders' horses are often turned out in less desirable areas which can be extremely muddy in the spring. Trailer parking is complimentary and kept plowed and accessible throughout the winter. The house is close to the barn, so there is always someone around to attend to emergencies, and they always do a night check of the horses in the barn. Cons: the kid-friendly atmosphere includes kid barn help. Many of the chores are done by working students who are not always supervised and are often quite young and inexperienced. Water buckets and troughs are not scrubbed often enough. Stalls have dirt floors which soak in pee and produce overwhelming ammonia odors by springtime. No wash stall. No jumps but people have brought their own, and boarders are free to jump without being in a lesson. Last time I was there, much of the wood/wire fencing was falling apart and horses were getting loose on a regular basis. There were also often loose wires on the ground. Spooky horses may be unsettled by the frequent use of dirt bikes, nearby gunshots during hunting season, and random machinery on the go, but it's great for desensitizing them. The footing in the indoor is dirt and compacted manure (they drag the manure back into the footing rather than pick it out), and can get very dusty. The footing is not too deep but can be a little too firm in the winter. Also they do not water it, but occasionally will put down snow in the winter, which doesn't make much of a difference.

This year I was convinced to join another couple families for their yearly trip to On the Saco Campground and I'm glad I did. It's not a huge place, but it's very well kept and VERY clean. No smelly outhouses or grimy bathrooms, both were maybe a little rustic but in good working order and again, very clean. My site was tree lined giving plenty of privacy, nicely mowed and had a fire ring. I don't know if they employ some kind of mosquito management but for a wooded site about 80ft from water, I didn't get one bite over my 3 night stay. There's a little store with pretty much any essential you may have forgotten for sale, small game room, washer/dryer, and dishwashing area. You can rent tubes and canoes, (I did both) and the staff is super friendly and helpful, (especially when we got caught in the rain and they came to pick us up earlier and at a different location than intended). They had some kind of activity everyday, I saw face painting one afternoon by the office, there was a glow stick parade one night, corn-hole tournament the next, and a movie night the third. A lot of Saco campground are shitshows, (I'm talking about you Fiddlehead!) full of wasted college kids, this place IS NOT THAT. If that's what you want, keep moving. However, if you're looking for a clean, friendly place that is definitely family friendly and a more peaceful but still fun experience I'd recommend On the Saco Family Campground for sure.

The first time the battery was dead because they left the key on. We finally got it jumped but then the engine wouldn't go over 8mph because of the missing part. The part was endlessly backordered so it finally went on this week. It still wouldn't start. It turns out the fuel line they used to replace the old one was a POS and had pieces of plastic broken off and blocking the line. We had an older motor boat with a 2 stroke Johnson engine. I'm not a mechanic but I've been told by many that 2 strokes are pretty simple engines but they couldn't figure it out or do the job right. Do Not Go Here!

I needed to have some service done on my older Evinrude outboard, and figured this would be easy given that I live in the Sebago Lake area. Nope. I got the runaround from a lot of marinas: "we don't do that here" or "try so-and-so out on Rt. xx" or "we don't work on older motors" etc. I called Worster's, and they were immediately helpful. They got me in quickly, the work was done in under a week (in April - which is when everyone is pulling out their boats and looking for various services), they were very flexible, knowledgeable and kind. I value this type of customer service. You can also tell it's a family run operation, and they treat their customers as if they value their business. Their prices were definitely reasonable, more than fair for the quality of work done. Actually, I was surprised that the bill wasn't higher! The location is also pretty convenient, out on 35, easy to get to. I was very happy with my experience here and will definitely be returning to Worster's for my future needs. I would recommend them to anyone else, especially if you've got an older outboard which may be hard to find someone to work on.

Our escape room was two rooms (as far as I know). First room was a combo lock and keypad, which was straight-forward enough. Next room we walked into we faced a traditional logic grid puzzle (my least favorite), covered by plexiglass, and given a dry erase marker to use. But of course the marker doesn't work. Neither did the second marker. Neither did the third... After opening a few drawers in the room, we faced no less than six padlock combinations to solve, with numbers everywhere in the room and no clear indication as to what to solve first or which numbers may go with which combo. It was just a stew of combination locks. No logical association or flow, and none if it, that I could tell, really had anything to do with the "story". It was just "found some numbers. Is it this one? Nope. This one? Nope. This one..." Some of the combination puzzles were clever, but most required odd, obtuse logical leaps or were obfuscated by poor wording. Workers were decent enough, I suppose. I guess our expectations were for something beyond a combo lock practice kit. When I compare this experience to something like Boda Borg, which charges the same amount for 2 hours of puzzle rooms (or slightly more for 4 hours), the value discrepancy becomes apparent. In truth, I think our money would have been better spent had we gone out for a movie and some beers.

As I was in my street clothes and about 10 feet from the door, I informed her that I wasn't swimming and just came to tell the kids something. I also told her that I did have a wristband in my room and I was not walking back. She decided to make this the hill she would die on and continued the tirade.
