I went there just hoping to see the horses and met Jessica and signed my granddaughter up for lessons . Jessica was amazing with her . She was patient and worked with her knowing her love for horses but only being 7 treated her with such respect . We will be doing bi-weekly lesson with her .Occasionally I will be doing an advanced ride with her ( maybe more than I want to tell the hubby lol) Again, please check them out . Go see the horses, cow, pigs, chickens,bunnies... Dint forget to bring carrots for all of them ! Thanks again .. LaLa and BL

I eventually reached a live person on my third day of trying to book a trail ride for family; they were rude about booking, wouldn't allow an 11 year old experienced rider to ride without a rope led companion horse and said they didn't know if the possibility of rain would affect the ride and whether we'd go out. I guess they're too busy for "tourists".

You start of in the pen and take a nice ride past a pond, through a river to start, and amazing ride through the woods and loop back around. *I believe North Woods Rafting is a part of Mahoosuc Outdoors, so essentially the same company*…read more We booked a rafting trip for a group of 8 guys on a Bachelor'd party trip, having had booked an airbnb for the weekend nearby. From start to finish, working with these guys was awesome. We actually went on maybe the 2nd to last day of the season, so our tour guides were extra jovial and enthusiastic in ending the season on a high note. Our boat had Bailey while the other guys had Kenny - both hilariously animated guys. We originally thought we'd be able to wake up for the early morning river run, but glad we booked the 2nd one due to having a late and debaucherous night before. The early afternoon was pretty windy so we were worried about freezing waters, but actually the sun came out and warmed us up pretty nice. All the equipment was very modern and new, and the rafts themselves were in great shape. Basically you draft down the river twice, with the second time full of more instances where you're begging to be tossed into the water. The last peaceful stretch was actually a great time for everyone to jump out of the rafts and peacefully wade in the water. There was an included photographer who got some awesome shots, although most of the time I had no idea where or when they were shooting and came up with great candids. The food afterwards was pretty great. You get a choice of protein - I highly recommend the salmon. They also have a bar type setup you can partake in. Overall, I highly recommend this adventure company. It provides a very homey feel and care to give you an awesome experience that is authentic to their roots and passion.

I think some of the negative reviews on here mostly have to do with Groupon, which it seems they do not use anymore. Another negative seems to be towards the owner, whom I did not meet, but her employee Kaitlyn was very responsible and knowledgeable! Give them a try, I had a great time! I brought my boyfriend who had never ridden a horse before, and he wasn't screamed or yelled at! Very positive experience.

The scenic road is a MUST (and also a one-way up). There's hiking trails and grounds to explore at…read moreno charge. The paths from what I could tell were pretty well maintained and there were a lot of people hiking in the area. There's a scenic overlook which has quarter operated viewfinders. Once you get to the Carriage House, if you want to take the trolley up to see the "Castle" (house), there's a cost. Adults are $23 and 4 + under a free. The trolley goes every 15 minutes. Once you get to the top, you have to watch a 7 minute video about the estate prior to walking around / taking a tour. The grounds are pretty but it's the view you're looking for. The house is okay, it's neat because most of the furniture is original to the property. But I feel like once you've seen one historic rich man's house, you've seen them all. No dogs or strollers are allowed up to the castle, by the way. There's also only a porta potty available up there. The carriage house has a restroom & a restaurant. There's a cute little gift shop nearby, too. The main draw for all the kids is the candy. Once you walk down to the pond area, there's a little shack "Cafe in the Clouds" which serves Gifford ice cream and some delicious sandwiches - I recommend the turkey pesto! Overall, it's a nice way to spend a morning but if you're not interested in the house itself, there's still plenty to do on the property.
